So, they’ll the league will call us. I’ll pick the phone up and I’ll introduce you and then we’ll tell you who to pick. Okay? She be the first one to know before anyone. I’m put in now. Hold on. Okay, you just say Orlando Magic to pick and tell them what it is. For the 25th pick, the Orlando Magic select Jace Richardson. Good job. [Music] With the 25th pick in the 2025 NBA draft, the Orlando Magic select Jace Richardson from Michigan State. We actually brought Jason to look at with the 16th pick. Throughout the process, you never know how these drafts are going to go. There have obviously been some big surprises tonight. We were wondering if he could get into our range and uh here we are. You know, I mean, this is this is how the draft works, right? It’s all a matter of, you know, what teams need, what position, what they’re looking for. Jace for us fits a lot of needs because he’s an excellent shooter. He’s one of the lowest mistake players in the whole draft. Most importantly, he’s an incredible young guy and he’s got a great feel for the game. So, um, you know, we look forward to indoctrinating him and having him down here and making him part of the team. It’s crazy. I I still can’t wrap my head about what happened last night. Decided to be out here and get ready to work. dream come true honestly just looking back and you know being able to go to a place I’ve already like been at and just going through it and now going through it as a player just it’s a surreal feeling. Oh my god. You know that’s Jason knows that voice. Oh my god. I cannot. It was a whole bunch of emotions. It was a lot of joy, a lot of like just happiness. Um I had all my close friends, family with me. So, you know, it was just a special moment with special people. I’m super excited to get to work. Um, one thing about me, I’m always I always want to win and I feel like you guys got a winner. I’m here to try to win it as much as I can. How you doing? So good. Oh my gosh. Sorry. Oh my gosh. This this is to me what what makes us who we are. This brings our whole team together. Wow. I’m definitely more Proud Papa right there. That’s awesome. Mhm. It still don’t feel real. Still hasn’t hit me. It’s crazy. Yeah. See, that’s that’s my bro. He had to leave because he was uh we was expecting a first round but uh he has some stuff to do with the national. Yeah, he like it. We were going to head to the locker room and get into your uniform. I can’t even believe I’m wearing an NBA jersey. That’s just super dope and and crazy. I got NBA jersey on crazy. Fresh threads on the roof, man. Fresh threads on the roof. Like maybe you like them a little bit. I think it was like mixed emotions. We had, you know, you’re worried because it’s like a draft process. We’ve already gone through it, but it’s it’s a lot different when it’s your child. Like, so I think even though we know what to expect, it’s like you just there the the unexpected. You don’t know where he’s going. Him getting drafted here was surreal because we’ve spent so much time here and really enjoyed our time in Orlando. This was his first choice. It’s like he really he really liked the team. He really liked the people. Once Orlando was called, I think everybody was just elated because he was just so happy. For me, I just try to give him advice every now and then. He’s always asking and searching, you know, especially going through the pre-drive process, what to expect, what to do, um how to carry yourself. He’s always been a great kid, so I wasn’t worried about that aspect. It was a working out, just give him a little insight on how to be prepared for the workout. They’re going to tire you out. They’re going to make sure you work hard. So, uh, it was just a little bit of getting them help along the way. I was thinking about the the drive just like what what it took me to to to get there today. I was looking at the guys practicing just it’s just like a great emotion to be able to reach that level. I mean, I’ve been through a lot during my career. Just now that I feel like that’s like like a new beginning. I haven’t felt like really like deep emotions like that since the beginning of the free drop process. So, now I’m just starting to realize that I’m I’m there. [Music] for being my family even it was he was there them first. So, just having the opportunity to put my family name on on the on the NBA jersey, having the opportunity to represent my my my country and uh my area, that’s that’s super dope.
