Cam Spencer Postgame Interview vs Oklahoma City Thunder | NBA Summer League

What’s up, Grizz Nation? We’re here with Cam Spencer following the Grizzlies first summer league game here in Salt Lake City. And Cam, one game and you’re one and0. What did you like from the group’s effort tonight? Yeah, I thought the effort was there all night. You know, I think in the first half it was a little bit of jitters, a little bit of, you know, trying to figure figure each other out on both ends of the floor. Um, but I thought we got contribution from everybody tonight and really proud of the group effort. Once that offense started to roll, it felt like everyone was getting shots in rhythm. What has Tomas Eselo told you guys as head coach of this summer league program and now also of the Memphis Grizzlies and what he’s focused on here in Salt Lake? Yeah, he’s done a great job of just communicating our principles and how we want to play on both ends of the floor. You know, I think we all know the way we’re supposed to play and and uh you know, we have our principles that we have to go out and execute. But I think he just does a great job of getting everybody on the same page and uh making sure we execute at a high level. And on the defensive end, Grizzlies fans know you’re always going to be a menace out there. summer league, regular season game, playoff game. Just what kind of energy do you want to bring to this group? Yeah, I think those are usually the teams that have success in summer league. You know, I thought we had a great group last year. Came up a little bit short, but um I thought we just outplayed everybody and really outworked a lot of teams last year and you know, we’re going to try to bring that same energy this year as well. And you were part of that group last year along with Jaylen Wells and Gi Jackson. Just how has it been for you guys? All still very young yourselves, but now being able to serve as the summer league veterans for the rest of this team. Yeah, it’s pretty cool. You know, I think we want to use our experience uh as an advantage and we want to help the guys who haven’t been here before. Um you know, with any little tips that we can give just to keep them calm and, you know, get get everybody to play their game. You know, they’re on the Grizzlies summer league team for a reason and, you know, we we believe in them. So, u I I really love the group that we have this year. And what are some of your individual goals as we go through these next two weeks? Win. Win the championship. That’s it. That is the most Cam Spencer answer we could ask for. Thanks, Cam. Congrats.
