NBA Contracts are OUT OF CONTROL 🤯

So NBA contracts have just gotten out of control, which is why this is now a real question. Who will be the first player to make a h 100red million a year? So the reason I started thinking about this is cuz earlier this week, Sheay signed a 4-year, $285 million deal. That’s like 71.5 million year. And for context, the salary cap was 70 million total just 10 years ago. Shout out to that TV money. Now, the salary cap can only increase 10% per year. And a super max allows players to sign for 35% of the cap. And so to answer the original question, if we project this outwards, then players signing a super max in the summer of 2029 will make 104 million in the fourth year of that deal. But that’s not 100 million annual. If we keep going, then the year is 2032 when the cap finally hits 300 million. And while sure, maybe a 33-year-old Luca signs a LeBron style one-year deal worth 100 mil. By my calculations, the first 100 mil super max is going to be Victor Webbyama in 2032.

  1. Not accounting for random injuries it’ll definitely be wemby, he’s got the highest celing here and while Tatum might eventually get bags like that I think a prime wemby’s will definitely get that bag the quickest

  2. When would the salary cap inflation end though? Do you think in like 2095 the players will be making 1 billion a year😂

  3. Players negotiated 51% of every dollar goes to the players.
While 49 goes to 30 owners.

As the money increases so does their deal

  4. I think it’ll be a toss up between Chet and Wemby to achieve it first, I think Wemby is the better player, but Chet is in a position to get all the accolades rn to justify that contract
