The Washington Wizards are trading Kelly Ole to the San Antonio Spurs for Malachi Brandom, Blake Wesley, and a 2026 second round pick, the least favorable of Dallas, Philly, and Oklahoma City. We have a million second round picks in 2026, but let’s back it up. Be deep. Two of our first round picks from 2022. There’s also Jeremy Sewing in that class are being traded. We had a log jam at guards. Well, log jam no more. The deal gets the Spurs another stretch big after the free agent signing of Luke Cornet. The Washington team receives two more young players as the Wizards continue to add some talent this offseason with potential for increased opportunity along with an accepted accepted I wasn’t going to say exceptional there. expected later second rounder. I mean, the Spurs moving on from Blake and Maline. Makes sense. They weren’t going to get any minutes this year. So, this is better for them two to get some playing time. And the Spurs needed a bid. How big is Kelly? I don’t know a lot about him. I know he played for the Warriors. He’s been around the league. I got his basketball reference up now. We’re kind of doing guerilla warfare editing here. So bear with me because well I was not planning on making a video because uh well here we go. Center and power for his nickname is lunch lady. Seriously down in launch lady land. I did not know that was his his nickname. Kelly Olink. All right. Played 44 games last year. He has a bit of an injury history, doesn’t he? Played 78 games the year before. He is a stretch. Isn’t he not a stretch four? Stretch five. Wow. last three years 42% 39% 39% he’s actually gonna come into the team already he’s going to be one of the best shooters on the team points per game for his career okay primarily a backup right yeah I mean well starter backup etc I’m curious if we can find out his height because that is what I like to know I believe he’s like 610 611 right around there what’s he 34 years old so he’s a vet he’s 6′ 10 with a 6 foot 6′ 11 wingspan. So, he’s not a giant out there, but he’s going to bring some size. And one thing we’ve been talking about on this channel a lot is the team needs some size. We talked about the girth, too. They get Luke Cornet. Now, they’re bringing in Kelly, a vet. And having vets on that team is not necessarily a bad thing. We have so many young players and somebody that can shoot the three and gives them size. We’ve talked at length on this channel, this team needs size. This team’s three-point shooting. Kelly will bring them both. Will he be a long man? Actually, you know, let me check his contract. Let’s check his contract, guys. Video on the fly. Kelly Olink came into the league, by the way, in 2022 with the Ira played for the Celtics. He’s actually bounced around a lot the last few years. I’m getting confused with somebody else. He never played for Golden State. Who the hell am I thinking of? All right. I thought he played for the Warriors. He didn’t. No, no GSW on there at all. Celtics, the Heat, the Rockets, the Pistons, the Jazz, the Raptors, the Pelicans, and he’s seen a million faces and he’s rocking them all, but he hasn’t the Golden State Warriors. All right, I’m sorry for the scrolling quickly here. Let’s look at his contract situation. He’s on the last year of his contract. He’ll make 13 million next season and then it expires. Malachi and Blake, I believe, are both making about 5 million each, maybe about 10 million total. The question I have, Spurs fans, is with this trade, what are the Spurs going to do with the roster? This is a two for one deal. We’re trading Malachi and Blake for one player. Correct me if I’m wrong, we now have three open roster spots. We also have a two-way contract available, but three open roster spots. Is Riley Min going to get one of those? Is he going to get bumped up? Is somebody else from the G or the Austin Spurs going to get bumped up and we get more guys on a two-way? I’m very curious how Brian Wright’s going to finish rounding out this roster because we need more people. Hey Spurs, I’m 6’4 with a 67 wingspan. Bring me on it. Come on. I fit the mold, don’t I? No, I don’t. As far as the move, um, I like it. Malach Blake not getting any playing time. Good for them. We were guarding. We bring in another big guy, a big guy that can shoot and a vet, which something that we definitely need. What other big moves can the Spurs make? Somebody just messaged me saying maybe this means Giannis isn’t coming. Like that’s going to be a two for one trade at minimum too. Deon Vel because we need to salary somebody else like either Barnes or Kelvin. Then we’ll be down to 11 roster spots unless Milwaukee throws some finesses is probably coming if I don’t think Giannis is coming. But we got to fill up the roster and I don’t believe a lot of cap space left. So I don’t know Spurs fans. What What do you think of the trade? Grade the trade. I’m gonna give it um and this is again on the fly because it’s breaking news. I’ll give the trade off the cuff, not really having a chance to think about it. I’ll say it’s at least a B+. Uh he brings in a pretty big contract, but he gives a three-point shooting and we unload two guys that just were not going to get any minutes. So, I like the move. I think a B+.
