Pelicans, man. Of course, July the 10th, that’s Thursday, this upcoming Thursday, the Pelicans have a matchup in the summer league, man. And we’re going to talk about that on this episode of PPR uh as we get going, man. And it’s going to be really interesting, man. As we got the top tab starting it off talking about fact that the New Orleans Pelicans trade that went with Washington. Uh this was something it was a three-team trade that the Pelicans it was announced and as completed and pretty much the three team trade was simple. It was pretty much uh cleared up some stuff too because we thought Mojave the King would have been a Pelican, but it he was directed to the the Rockets. But this is the framework of the deal that’s completed. The Wizards acquire CJ Caliolon, Cam Whitmore, and the Bulls 2027 second round pick from the Pelicans. So there you go right there. Pelicans then acquired Jordan P, Sadique Bay, and the draft rights to Mika Peavey. Uh the number 40th pick. The Rockets get in the draft deal. Mojave King, the Bulls 2026 second round pick from the Wizards and the Kings 2029 second round pick from the Wizards. So, the original agreement between uh the Wizards and the Pelicans was reached just before the first round of the draft on June the 24th, but the Whitmore deal between Houston and Washington just agreed upon yesterday. So, you know, that is that’s the framework getting that completed just to kind of notify you guys. Also, a little stuff to talk about is the fact that the Pelicans already inked the first round, the two first rounders uh and Jeremiah Fears and Derek Queen. And now they’re announcing that they signed second round draft pick Ma Peavey. So, they get him under uh signed, get him in a deal, too, and get him ready for play for this upcoming season. So, big ups to the youngsters as they looking to try to help the Pelicans get back to respectability. Now, on to the summer league stuff that’s been going on here as the Pelicans get ready to start that summer league. They had their first practice of the summer league. We know Cory Brewer is the coach of the summer league team. So, he was talking about all of how the young people looked out there and he’s really impressed with them. And we’ll see what Cory Brewer does. Now, he’s almost 40 years old. He spent 13 years in the NBA. Even won backtoback national championships with university. Joke Noah El Hoffer was on that team and then as opposed to retiring when he retired after 13 years in the NBA transitioned to a player development coach with the Pelicans and now gets an opportunity to become a coach. So, it’s good to see him out there uh doing the thing, man. We’re going to keep an eye on what’s going on with him as well. So, let’s move into this side of it. This is the Pelicans official summer league roster. You guys can see a Trey Alexander. We talked about this. A lot of these players we covered on previous Flash reports. If you guys want to check that out, you know, you can go on the the platform and look for those of previous Flash Reports where we talked about the acquisition of all of these two, you know, the some of the the two-way players as well as some of the the G the summer league players like Ant Titan Anderson and all these other guys. Now, the two guys we didn’t talk about was Christian Shoemake, who’s a 6’6, 213 pound forward from McNe State. He comes to the Pelicans for an opportunity there in the summer league. Man, it’s going to be fun watching them Pelicans reach to local talent there to try to do that and bring him into the organization collegiate career. I helped guide Mcnes to second straight southern conference regular season. Uh he’s about to be 24 years of age and he helped the Cowboys and MC win a second round tournament championship as well as the basketball program’s second consecutive NCAA tournament appearance in his first ever tournament win as the Post took down the Clemson Tigers by 269 to 67. 66 out of uh the Chicago Heights, Illinois area became the second Cowboy in his many years to play summer league ball in the NBA. Shahada Wales was the other guy who played for the Rockets last season. not a Pelican assistant. Uh Cory Brewer has all these other guys that he’s talking about bringing into the camp. So, we’ll see exactly what Mr. Shoemake can bring uh to the team. If you watch some of his footage, he’s a tough player around the basket. Has some skills and talent. And uh the Pelicans will try to see if Mr. Shoemate could fit what they got going on uh in this team. Also, they talk about the Pelicans. Uh also signed a LSU player to be on the summer league team as well. Uh, and we’ll see how that goes since they added Will Baker to the summer league team. It’s a 6’1 11 almost a 7footer, 240 lb center. Played one season under Mag McMahon and for the LSU Tigers. He averaged 11 points per five boards. In his senior year, they went 17 to 16 to 99 in the Southeastern Conference. LSU has to really do better. He played 27 games for Iowa Wolves in the NBA GLeague. He averaged 4.4 points and 2.3 rebounds in nine minutes of action. So, and they also mentioned uh Christian Shoemate, 66 wing, who averaged over 10 points a game, over 6 and a half rebounds, and shot 71.4% from the two-point range. So, these are some of the guys that they’re bringing in. So, we’re going to see uh what’s happening uh there as well with the summer league uh issues. So, so let’s move into this, man. Let’s get to aspect. This is all of the guys that we covered in summer league roster. Alexander 664 I mean 6’4 185 from Kraton one year experience Jeremiah Fitz Trey is the uh 2-way player that we signed Jeremiah Fears you know AJ Hogard 63 220 big guard for Vanderbilt size-wise heavywise rookie Chase Hunter 64202 from Clemson another guard we know about Lester Quinones he was on our team last year as a 28 Antonio Reeves was also brought back to the Pelicans as a summer league player so there you Antonio Reeves, my my people out there was thinking about that. Pelicans bring him back for the summer league. So, that’s going to be interesting to see him back there. Tighten down. We talked about him 66185 from Northern Iowa. Keon Brooks is playing as well uh in the summer league. 67210. Remember, we kind of nicknamed him of the uh what we call him the uh uh Tamu Naji. Y’all know, but he played well. Mika Pify 662, our second round draft pick. We talked about Mr. Shoemate. Uh Trey Townsson, 66212 forward from Arizona. Derek Queen, you know about our first round pick. We just talked about Mr. Will Baker. Hunter Dickinson the big 7 foot2 260 plus pound Kansas center. And of Eves Me Eves is going to be in the summer league as well. So 611 236 from Baylor, one year of experience. So we don’t see Jordan Hawkins on the squad. We don’t see Jordan Hawkins. A lot of people assume that Jordan Hawkins, he could damn sure use the minutes uh would be there, but uh you know, he’s not on the summer league. What’s interesting is that we do see Eve there. They’re trying to give Eve some more work there. Uh it’s a surprise to see Antonio Reeves on the list as well. Uh getting back at it. So Lester Quinones is there from the team. Uh Antonio Reeves is playing in the summer league uh as you can see. So we’ll we’ll see. Man, this this summer league team is going to be interesting, man. Do we have the makings of a summer league championship team? That’d be something that the Pelicans never done before that they possibly accomplish that. So outside of Fears and Queen keeping eye on these guys and this group, the most interesting players, Antonio Reeves, he was waved uh last week, but still be a part of the summer league roster. The Pelicans could benefit from Reeves play throughout this group’s time in Las Vegas. He will be uh using the summer league as a showcase to all 29 teams. Reeves could take his play to a new level, proving why he deserves to be an NBA on the NBA roster despite the Pelicans waving him. So, we talked about Shoemate, a local product from Louisiana, allowing him to showcase his talents. An athletic wing player, excels in defense, creates impressive highlights at the rim. He played a key key role in Mcnes’s run to the tournament this past season. Outside of these two, there are a few other names keep an eye on. Will Baker’s another player to keep an eye on LSU Big out there. Mika Peavey want to keep an eye on likely to be tasked with guarding the opposite team’s best players night. Lastly, Trey Alexander Funwing, Incredible L 63, boasting 610 Win Spain is both the shot creator and disruptor on the defensive side of the ball. So, we’ll see if this will be good enough. The Pelicans will match up and start July the 10th at 2:30 p.m. I think they play the Timberwolves if I’m not mistaken. Y’all put in the chat. Uh they’ll start the uh gym. Yeah, that’s right. 2:30 against the Seaw Wolves, man. the Pelicans will get it going. All right, so there you go with that, man. Listen, that’s going to do it for PPR Flash Report.
