The Chicago Bullsโ Defense Revival Starts with Okoro? ๐๐ Full Breakdown as well as Vucevic news! ๐๐ดโซ
Welcome to another episode of Just Another Year Chicago Bulls. My name is Philip Charles Vanderhaden the fourth and on this episode we are talking Isaac Okoro and a Cavaliers media member his opinion on him. We’re also going to be talking Nicole Vousvich and his situation on this episode of just another year Chicago Bulls. If you’re mad about Vu being here still, hit that like button. I could hear it already. And if do you think that Isaac Aoro can be a long-term piece for us on the Bulls? Hit Y for S or type Y for S or type N for no in the comments. Let’s talk about it. And we are doing our jersey giveaway and we’re announcing the winner tomorrow y’all. So it is on X same handle as it is on YouTube as well as YouTube. So you can enter on both platforms. That way you give yourself an extra opportunity. You just follow the directions on YouTube. You’ll like the video comment wire and subscribe and we’ll announce the winner tomorrow. All right. So a Cleveland take on Isaac Aoro. So Bob Schmidt from the Fear of the Fro podcast was on the CHO CHGO Bulls podcast and had some really interesting things to say about Isaac Aoro that I think um should perk the ears up of Bulls fans because it’s very easy for us uh to just look at what happened with him from the outside in, but like if you’re not I mean I don’t know about you guys, but I’m not dialed into like the day-to-day drama that happens with the Cleveland Cavaliers. So, I have no idea if there was any politics being played over there or like why uh Isaac Aoro never seemed to take that next step. Uh and we got some really interesting information here from Bob. Uh I’ll read this quote here and this is also by way of uh sports mockeries Eric Lambert. Um over the past few days, people have spoken out to defend it. Uh meaning like the uh Isaac Cororo uh trade like that it was worth it for the Bulls. One of them is Cavs insider Bob Schmidt. He he spoke to the CHGO Bull show about Aoro’s situation in Cleveland. Was he really a colossal bust or were there layers to the situation? From how he describes it, Aoro was making serious progress in his offensive game before his shoulder injury derailed things last December. His shooting effectiveness dipped and the team reduced his minutes from 21 to 17 after that. Combine that with too many other guys taking up offensive responsibilities on the roster and Aoro never had a chance to grow. that will not be an issue in Chicago. Now, I I went and I listened to to him talk because it it would be I wanted to hear him I wanted to hear the conviction, right? Because it’s real easy for somebody to just get up there and say nice things about a guy. Um, but when you if you say them with conviction and you and you you say them with confidence and you say them and especially like I guess how much you expound upon things, um, I I feel like I can at least get a general, you know, try and get a read on how much I I I you know, I’m buying it. You know what I mean? Because there’s really no benefit for Bob Schmidt to to be, you know, saying great things about Isaac Auroro at this point. Like the trade’s done. if anything like you know he’s a Cavs insider like it probably benefit him to talk about how the Cavs fleeced us or something. So I I don’t I think that you know his analysis and and the stuff that he was able to share was was valuable. So one of the things that he shared was that um that Isaac Aoro is going to be great in transition. Uh, real quick, I think this might be a sneaky good move. After listening to this dude talk about Isaac Auroro, like he he fits what we need. Like he fits what we’re looking for. Like it’s it’s going to be very interesting to see his like path play out over the next few years cuz he’s right. Like the guys that the Cavs had were really stepping in the way of of Aoro getting his full opportunity. And I don’t know if that I think he’s going to get it here. like he’s going to get more of one. That’s for sure. And um I I just really hope that his skill set, it sounds like it’s a perfect like um fit for what we need and I hope that it ends up that way. I think it could be a sneaky move. And like I said, Bob Schmidt, there’s no reason to lie. Like why would he get up here? and just especially like to some of the stuff that he said um some of the hypes that he went to as far as especially his defensive capabilities which I’ll get to. But uh about his offense, he said that Isaac Auroro’s transition offense is really great. Uh he’s athletic, he gets out on the run, he’s young, um dynamic, so that’s perfect. Like he’s he’ll fit right in. Uh there’s a good chance that he could start at the at the small forward position right away next year. I don’t think they’re going to start Noah Essen from the get-go. Um, that’d probably be a mistake. You want to probably bring him along slowly and we know that Billy Donovan’s going to do that anyway, so he’s going to make him earn it. So, I uh, you know, but there’s an opening right there at the three where we could really use a really solid uh, you know, offensively, we would just need him to score when he’s open, make cuts, shoot the three when you’re open. Uh, like you don’t have to do that much on offense, man. make good cuts, run the offense, run the floor, you know, just be a dog, you know, just be just hustle and shoot when you’re open, period. And it sounds like he he can at least fill that. And then Aoro, I got excited because this dude started talking about Aoro’s defense. And I guess I just, you know, like I can’t lie and say that I’ve like broke down hours of Okoro film. So, um, for him to say some of the things I wasn’t aware that he I knew A Cororo was a plus defender, but he started to compare him and his impact to guys like Alex Caruso and he made a point that was like, you know, Alex Caruso has become so respected in the league that he’s able to get away with a lot of really physical defense. Like some of the stuff Alex Cruso does, like if other guys tried doing it, they’d get whistled just because like it’s just a mental thing. Like these refs, they see Alex Caruso, they know he’s an elite defender. So like when he’s playing elite defense, like their brains are much more likely to be like, “Oh yeah, no, that’s what that looks like.” Instead of like when someone who’s not known for elite defense plays that physical type of defense, they’re like, “Oh no, that’s that’s a foul here. He’s he’s doing too much.” So his point was that Isaac Aoro has not gotten that break yet from the refs. he has not been allowed to be very physical on the perimeter with some of these guards and wings. But he thinks that if you know obviously Okoro is getting a little older, he’s 24 now. He’s like as he stays in the league and goes on and if he stays in Chicago, there’s a good chance that that starts to go away as Okoro’s reputation as a defender continues to grow. And he’s like, and honestly, he’s a dog. He I’m not uh quoting him directly, but he essentially said that this dude can be an Alex Caruso for us on the wing. And that’s amazing, man. Like I didn’t know that he was going to be like that. Um so if Aoro I don’t care what he brings us on offense if that’s the case. That’s honestly like we already had point guards. I love Uonzo, but like if we could trade an excess from our point guard position to get an elite defender on the wing because now we’re talking dude. Like now we got Julian Phillips, right? who could also be an elite defender, has the length, has the has the uh you know, he he has some three and D in him. Uh is Don Terry gonna take another step? Now, I’m not as much worried about him, but then you got Noah Essen, he’s there. Then you got Jaylen Smith, also young, still there. Kevin Wer, young, still there. To be honest with you, the AK vision of uh getting a bunch of good players isn’t that far away. like, but we do need I don’t care what he says, you’re going to need a superstar that gets a bucket when you need it. So maybe that’s Matas, but if it’s not, we’re still going to need that guy. But I I do think that we’re we’re we’re chugging along pretty decently at that goal that AK had set where he believes that we could compete for a championship with, you know, nine or 10 really good players. I think he must have meant eight or you know eight really good players and a superstar or whatever. Um is essentially what Indiana just did. Like I mean I don’t I don’t know about you guys but I don’t consider Pascal Siakum a superstar. Like he’s he’s like a fringe star. Like he’s it depends on the night. You know what I mean? He’s he’s he’s hot and cold and because of that I don’t consider him to be you know among the Halleberttons or SGAAs of the world. He’s really good though and so is Miles Turner. Um, so it’s it now you might have a Josh Giddy might be like one of those guys. Kobe White might be like one of those guys, but that being said, like our defense still needs to be better. Like we are not ever going to be contending until we get a center that can protect the rim. And so I I I don’t think that we have that in house yet. I don’t think Lachland um, I think I said that correctly. I don’t think that he’s known for his rim protection. I could be wrong, but uh, we’ll see. So anyways, to move on, we’re going to talk about Nola Vousvich. Uh despite his name being in rumors every day, new reports say that VH has is at an all-time low interest wise. And uh it’s a bummer, guys. This sucks. Um I really really wanted to be rid of Lousich this off season. Man, I’m I know that he there’s he does good things. Like I I I I do feel kind of I I feel like I I don’t like how the narrative has kind of slipped to where it feels like we’re talking about Vousvich like he’s Cristiano Felicio and he’s not. Okay, he is not. First of all, like the 20 million salary he has is really not killing us at all and he does do good things on the court. He just can’t protect a rim if his life depended on it. And I am tired of that. I’m so tired of it. So, I’m I’m ready to get anything at all. And I but it does sound more and more like the options are running out. I I threw up a tweet up here in the top left uh that, you know, reported that the Wizards, Kings, Heat, uh Bulls, Bucks, and Nets have all registered quote varying levels of interest in Jonathan Kaminga. I threw that up there because I mean, that’s nothing. That’s a nothing burger. But Vousvich could technically get traded for Kaminga. Uh it’s it could happen. I don’t, you know, I’m pretty sure that Golden State still hasn’t addressed the center position. Um, I don’t know if they’re going to anymore. I think they might, they might go Horford. I might have, maybe they did get him. I I’m not sure. But, uh, yeah, I just Vousvich is, you know, his value isn’t isn’t it’s not there. I mean, he’s old. His defense isn’t good. Um, I just think a lot of and where the NBA is going is a very much like a a faster pace. And I think that like nobody a lot of these teams can’t see how Vousvich will push them over the top and that’s the goal, right? Because he’s at the end of his career. So like you won’t you you would only want to acquire a guy like Lousich if you think he’s going to be an integral role of you guys winning a championship. And if you’re a team that gets out in transition and likes to protect the rim and you know, I don’t know, like likes to at least hold the other center to less than 20 points uh every game, then you’re going to convince yourself that Vousvich is not the answer. And it’s hard to blame him. Like I, you know, it’s just it’s it’s it’s odd, man. It’s an odd case with Vu because he had a good year last year. He did like his his PE was over 20, man. like he’s very efficient on offense. Uh you know, he did average a double double. Uh he still had good shooting splits. He he shot much better last year. So, it’s weird. But some are suggesting that the only way that Vousvich will not be left on the Bulls to start the next season is if we buy him out. And some people are speculating that that might happen because Vousvich is that much of a hindrance into where we’re trying to go. It’s I don’t mean to dump cold water on your guys’ head or anything, but I don’t think it’s happening. Like I’d rather when it comes to Jerry Rhinorf paying somebody to not play for him, hard to buy it. I if if it if the decision is on Rhinorf to be cheap or not be cheap, I’m always going to think that Rydenorf is going to be cheap because the fact that we haven’t been paying the luxury tax, you know, over the years is is nuts. Um, but you know, Vu, if he does end up on the Bulls this next season, right, he does have a nice offensive bag. He does have a nice skill set, guys. Like, it’s nice that he can we could throw it down to him in the post. He could he can work down there, throw it back out, we throw it back in. You know, you could work inside, outside, and then, you know, he he’s a good playmaker from the post. He can, you know, hit all kinds of different uh, you know, post moves. He can uh he’s a good pick setter. Uh, he can pick and pop. Uh he’s not much of a pick and roll guy, but he does have like a little shot put thing. Uh he brings a lot on offense. He does. I I wish that he would shoot like I I don’t really care for him shooting threes, but you know, he did shoot it well last year. So, but then for all that he has in his bag, his defense is awful. It’s awful. Now, I did my uncle Kevin did tell me over the last last season, he was my uh he was one of my coaches growing up. He was a high school football or basketball coach. He told me that he believes that Vu doesn’t play good defense often on purpose because if he tried to actually like get in in in better position and stuff, he would basically fall out every game because he’s not fast enough or uh I guess athletic enough. And that actually made some sense to me. Like can you imagine Bvich like actually going for a shot block every time? He would definitely fall out. But I uh you know, with that being said, like I I’m just ready to move on, man. I’m ready for some young players at that center position. Um other than Jaylen Smith because I’d like to see him at the four if I’m being quite honest with you. I mean, I guess we could play Lachland Old there. I mean, it’s it’s I like what Oldbridge has, but to me was a a project. Like you we want him playing in the G- League. We don’t want him starting for the Bulls. Not next year anyway. But I am praying for a miracle you guys because we deserve to be separated from Nicoola Busovich. But that’ll do it for today’s episode of Just Another Your Chicago Bulls. My name is Philip Charles Vanderhen IVth and until next time, my name or I am seeing red more than ever, baby. Let’s go.

What's the line on Phil having a heart attack watching Vucevic on defense during a livestream this season?
Eat okra for Okoro๐
3 team trade Bulls, Celtics, and warriors
Vuc is going to go full on cardio and drop 20 pounds to run with pace!
Your videos always make me day better. Thank you for creating them
Didn't expect to be rizzed up by a Bob today
I would like to face Nikola Vucevic in a Buried Alive Match
Sounds like Okoro has a very different skillset than Matas. I love it.
When we all of a sudden have 8 long, diverse, fast, athletic, versatile and explosive wings who we fully use to make life hell for the opposing team.
Then two avg PGs with high ball IQ and two Cs who specialize in rebounding and defense.
Maybe some exaggeration, but putting together a mercenary army of wings that might include a couple stars to go with Josh Giddey is quite brilliant and could result in a championship imo.
I would personally move Coby for a long term solution at Center right now if we can. If the Center you got was a good fit… this team would NOT be that far away
#1
Pissed he still here tf
Y
Y – I do believe he can be a long term piece
I don't know why everybody hates on vuc he's not the worst big in the league, plus he only gets cooked, where a big suppose to get cooked at the perimeter and he a walking double i would pay him at least 10 million a year until he retire
Yes. We gotta get rid of Vucevic
Okoro is an awesome perimeter defender. The dude can leap out of the building.
I heard a quote say that the Reindorfs have never bought out a player. I don't know if that's true, but is sounds like them. Never willing to spend money to advance the Bulls direction. But very OK with taking cash instead of trade assets.
I also think Vuc's defense is more about staying in a rebounding position and keeping 2nd chance offensive rebounds from happening. But a shot blocker will deter most from thinking they can get inside and try something. No one fears Vuc on defense, and that's the problem.
Iโm a fan of the trade tbh. Okoro can and should start until Noa is ready besides we will need his defense in the lineup. Running with Giddey he should be good for at least 10 points. Iโm cool with Vuc here until we find the proper replacement
Okoro could thrive with the bulls, heโs a great complimentary piece to Giddey. I love the move! Excited to see him get his opportunities.
Now please give us a big man to be excited about ๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ
