Here’s a look at Taius Jones’s three main strengths. Number one, assist to turnover ratio. Last year, his assist to turnover ratio was 4.71. That was the second best mark among those who appeared in at least 50 games. Only Tyrese Hallebertton had a better mark. The prior year, his ratio was a league best 7.35. Assist to turnover ratio for those who are unfamiliar is simply assist divided by turnovers. A higher ratio generally suggests better ball security and playmaking ability. Number two, corner three-point shooting. In 2024-25, Jones took the 12th most corner threes and made 47.2% of them. Among the 81 players who took at least 100 of them, that was the eighth best mark. One of the main reasons Taius is a really good fit in Orlando is because he can be effective playing off the ball. When Paulo Benro, Fron Vagner, andor Desmond Bane are the primary creators on the floor, Taius is capable of knocking down spot perimeter jumpers off sprayouts from the paint. And number three is his good touch on floaters. In 2023 24 when he was a member of the Washington Wizards, Jones made 53.9% of his 206 floaters. That was the second most floater attempts in the league that season and the sixth best mark among the 29 players who took at least 100 of them. This past season with the Phoenix Suns, he made 47% of them on 147 attempts. He also was comfortable taking them from further distance. Among the 25 players who attempted at least 200 floaters the last two seasons combined, Taius had the sixth furthest average distance on those shots at 10.4 ft. So, that’ll wrap up this video.
