The Spurs are JUST GETTING STARTED!

Spurs fans, our Spurs are making moves and I don’t think they’re done yet. What is up, San Antonio Spurs fans? Welcome to TSR Sports. Hope you’re having a great day and huge trade for our Sp well, yeah, a big trade for the Spurs last night, plus free agent, plus the draft, and we’re seeing the team change and get molded. And these moves that the Spurs are making might not be the big splashy Kevin Durant type of moves, but they are filling areas of need. This article from Air Alamo that I want to catch the back end of the article talking about the recent moves. Front court death and shooting were at the top of the silver and blacks needs list heading into the offseason. They’ve addressed it while clearing the log jam card. Let’s be honest, there wasn’t going to be much time for Wesley, Blake Wesley, and Malachi Brandom. Probably not. But once a Spur or a Spur, thank you for the memories. Correct me if I’m wrong, Spurs fans. But didn’t Malachi Brandon poster LeBron a year ago. So they had some big moments in the court. They had some rough moments, too. But thank you for being here and thank you for the time. Wish those first round picks would have worked out. They didn’t. The 2022 draft is not looking great now, but let’s not look at the past. Looks look look forward. Not going to be much time because we have Dearron Fox, Stefon Castle, Dylan Harper, and Deon Mel eating up the minutes. The Spurs will be able to put several lineups on the floor around WBY. They may not be done conducting business, but right now San Antonio has a deep group. They can rotate throughout each game. And here’s the current roster right now, guys. After the trade, after the free agent signing of Luke, whose contract, by the way, I’ve said it before in brilliant Brian Wright, Darren Fox, Stefon Castle, Dylan Harper. I know a lot of you may want him gone, but Demicell’s part of the team. Carter Bryant, who I think he’s going to spend a lot of time in Austin to start the season. and we’ll see what happens after that. Kelvin Johnson, Julian Champeni, Harrison Barnes, Jeremy Sewing, Kelly Oleneck and Luke Cornett and our franchise, Victor Webmanyama. I want to talk about real quick. I see some jokes or comments about great moves by the Spurs, but they still have Kelvin and Deon on the roster. I don’t know what’s going to happen with those guys moving forward. Deon’s contract does concern me or his performance related to his contract. That being said, if the Spurs are going to move on from them at some point, I would love to see the Spurs make the playoffs this year and at least have those guys get one playoff run with our team. They’ve only been part of the losing San Antonio Spurs and I’d like to have them enjoy being part of the winning San Antonio Spurs, even if only for one season. So, wishing, you know, hoping the best for them whether they stay, go, whatever happens in the future. But I’m excited. The roster is taking shape. There’s some three-point shooting. There’s some size. There’s rim protection. There’s some rebounding. We’ve got youth. We’ve got Vex. Let’s get back to the article. It’s uncommon to see such a coach actually deploy in 12 rotation. No, not all 12 of those guys are going to play. So, it’s likely that’ll be nights that someone is left on the outside looking in. I agree 100%. One thing is for sure, coach Mitch Johnson has been given quite a bit to work with. There will be answers to most problems somewhere on the roster if everyone takes the summer seriously and steps up their game for the coming season. I’m betting they will and the Spurs not trading away any of their core guys let you know that they’re counting on the same. We’re seeing the work put in by Stefon Castle with the guard whisper. We’re seeing the work put in by Jeremy Sohan. Weby’s doing his thing being a ninja or a monk or whatever. Um it looks like the guys are doing their work. I’m excited for this season. Spurs fans, I got to tell you. not only excited for the season, but for this offseason because I don’t think we’re done. Out of the 12 players you saw on the web page there, we have three open roster spots. Three. What are they going to do with them? Are they going to maybe call somebody up from Austin or not Austin, from the summer league or call up a two-way contract might be a better way to word it. Could they call up Riley Men? Look good for not having played since January last night. How about David Jones Garcia who went off again last night? We we lost two guards in this trade. We could certainly wouldn’t hurt to bring a guardsized player in or or Spurs fans. Is there I keep using my left hand, I guess, because WMY’s got the gauntlet on there right now. This looks a little cheesy and the proportions are off, but yeah. Or is there another trade or trades coming? I don’t think the Spurs are trying to rush the rebuild right now, but they’re they’re checking some boxes like cornet and only it might not move the needle for some of you and I I’ve seen it somewhere like ah that’s all we got big deal but Spurs fans we needed size check with both three-point shooting check with Olen it maybe Luke if he decides to shoot the three ball again and then veterans check with both be excited fans be excited we have some amazing incredible young talent on this roster. Wendy, Castle, probably Harper. I’m going to have faith Harper’s going to be the player they want to be and others that are now surrounded by quite a few vets and two former NBA champions. I know it’s been a while, but Harrison Barnes has a ring and so does Luke Cornett. It’s I really really like where the team is going and it it doesn’t feel rushed either. You know, we’ve seen teams make the bit like the Rockets. The Rockets are a good comparison. You know, I naturally instate rivals, some Spurs fans are comparing what the Rockets are doing to what we’re doing. Like the Rockets traded for Kevin Durant. They’re making all these moves. The Rockets went into win now mode. Kevin Durant’s window is what, two to three years, maybe four. We’ll see. I mean, he’s a shooter, so who knows? Maybe he’ll pull a Tom Brady play till he’s 45. But we’ll say his realistic window of being a top scorer in the NBA is probably about two to three years, barring any injuries or setbacks. The Rockets are all in now. They’re making the moves to win now. Know when Katie retires, that’s going to leave a big hole in the roster scoring wise. The Spurs are adding small parts in additions to their young core that we have not given up any of our young core yet with any of the trades or anything that’s happened over this last year. They’re not building to win for two or three years. They’re slowly building. Some of you like the word, some of you might not like this word. A dynasty. That’s anything less in my opinion would be a little bit disappoint. This is a franchise player. This is a player that’s probably going to be a top five, top three, number one player in the NBA in the next few years. And I really feel like we’re building something special around him. We still have to have a little bit of patience. We’re not winning a championship next season. As great as that would be, but we’re putting pieces in place to be better next season. We’ve got our young guys that are going to develop, but we’re also putting pieces in place that will hamstring us over the next years. Olen is on an expiring contract, so the Spurs could, you know, part ways with him after the year or they could resign him for less or maybe trade him at the Allar break. Who knows? Cornet’s contract, which descends partially guaranteed in the third year, nothing guaranteed in the fourth year when Wendy’s big old contracts up is, you know, rookie extension in effect. Brian Wright and the front office are making moves and I think they’re planning long term. It has not been perfect. I’m not going to sit here like and you know blow smoke up your butt and say it has Wesley and Brandham were bad picks. Well, I don’t want to say there were better players there. Walker Castle would be amazing. So, yes, they were not great picks. They were two guards. We going to guard heavy team. The Josh Primo pick which other guard was that 2021 draft was just a total waste. And yes, some of the picks that the team has made have been obvious like drafting Wem. But yes, they’re doing things wrong in spots, but they’re also doing things right. And instead of focusing on 2021 and 22 pre-WY on what Brian Wright missed on, I like what he’s doing moving forward. I really do. There sure there’s question marks going to next season. Mitch is probably the biggest question mark I have. I’m worried as a rookie coach how well he’ll do, but maybe with Wendy, a healthy WBY with all the Infinity Gems, it won’t matter who’s coaching because he’s going to be that good. He’s going to carry this team to the playoffs alongside with Stefon Castle and Dear Fox and others. I I’m rambling. I’m just I love the direction of the team and I’m sorry Malachi and Blake, you know, had to go, but they just they weren’t getting minutes. They weren’t. I sincerely wish them well in Washington and hope they get minutes and maybe become the players that they weren’t going to give them the opportunity or just couldn’t become in San Antonio. So, thank you Malach Blake Kelly. I watched the video on that thing with the shoulder with um Kevin Love. I see why some of you say he was a dirty player. Hopefully that is the sentence though. He was hopefully he doesn’t bring any kind of shenanigans to the Spurs. Plays hard. Maybe brings a little nasty but nothing that’s going to make you scratch your head and go, “Oh, that’s not Spursy.” So that’s all I got. I’m rambling. Guys, how excited are you about the the offseason so far? Adding Dylan Harper, Carter Bryant, Luke Cornett, and Kelly Olen. Are you excited about what’s going to happen in the future? What do you think’s going to happen? Who who else are we going to pursue? I don’t think we have a lot of space for free agents. So, if we’re going to maybe bring up some of the guys on our two-way contracts, who would you bring up? Would you bring up Riley? Would you bring up Harrison who’s been struggling in summer league? David Jones Garcia, are you already like that dude’s got to make the roster? I’ve seen enough. I don’t know. That’s all I got. Spurs fan. Drop a comment down below. Hit the thumbs up, support the channel, subscribe, become part of our awesome Spurs community. Thank you. And as always, go Spurs go. Forgot to mention it. 50 wins. Call him 50 wins. 50 and 32 next season.

  1. 'the playoffs or bust' is not out of possibility, really liking this off-season so far, it fills needs while giving a year or two to get – chemistry – experience – vets – evaluation – cap consideration – dynasty not win now, got a year of LBJ & Curry on way out & OKC defend & more …. looks like Spurs will start being contenders after next season anyway but gotta get there & starts now with these moves & depending on Wemby's health, still getting more but already loading up, excited for SL Harper (like everyone else) 'show out youngin!' GSG 💪

  2. People shouldn’t fret so much over those 3 roster spots as they have plenty of 2-way guys and those spots aren’t likely to play much anyway. The core is intact. However, there are also lots of teams that are roster top-heavy that are going to make cuts and the Spurs will be in prime position to capitalize on them—teams like the Jazz, the Suns, the Bulls and ironically Washington. All will have to shed players to lock down their teams. Keep an eye on the RFA guys like Kuminga, Giddey, and Beal as any movement of those guys could pry players loose in transactions the Spurs could land.

  3. Adding kornet and olynyk just remind me so much of splitter and Diaw. Play team ball. Wonder if Pop has alot more influence now that he’s in the president role. (Not that he didn’t have influence before)

  4. Love the Olynyk pickup. Can now go from Wemby & Sochen to Kornet & Olynyk… stash a vet min center like Biyombo and our rebounding is finally fixed
Our guard rotation is set and very solid.
If there's a solid 3pt wing vet we could get and then bring up Minix.
50+ wins for sure for sure.

  5. Jeremy and Keldon are real spurs. I really don't know how someone can call themselves a spurs fan, but always wanting them to be traded. they play well, play hard all the time, doesn't care if they start or comes from the bench, never complains of playing out of position, they always cheer for their teammates, they don't take themselves too seriously, they are not afraid to play physical, they embrace the spurs culture, and the San Antonio community… sochan just cooked a farewell dinner for Malaki and Blake! if pop was not sick, that would be exactly what pop would have done, but a young boy at 21 did it. I really hate it when I see 'fans' demanding trades off Jeremy and Keldon, know the players and team culture first before calling yourself a fan!

  6. That just shows the Spurs and yabuselle didn't made the deal but spur acknowledge that they still lack of size. Last 3 players will just be fillers unless they still have a trade cooking.

  7. It's good that the Spurs rounded out the roster without giving up any of their consistent rotational players and only two quality first round picks in the Fox trade. Plus they have three roster spots open, I've read that Amir Coffey could be had for the MLE to get another shooter on the roster. The Spurs also have some players to watch in Summer League: Omari Moore, Jones-Garcis, Nelson Jr, Carter, Agbo. Someone may stand out and fill the last two way spot. I'm guessing the Spurs will now look to upgrade some positions. They still have first round picks every year, a lot of second round picks, Olynik and Barnes are expiring contracts. I don't mind if Vassell or Keldon stick around a little longer while the young players gain more experience but if there's a good trade to be had they can go for it.

  8. I really like Devin & Keldon coming off the bench, you only play better with better talent around you and both players are solid. I hope Riley Minix and David Jones-Garcia get a chance to show what they would look like with the team as role players

  9. Tbh, we need a "bucket getter" we are getting all these role players to build around wemby and fox. We need a ready player to take pressure off wemby. No more developers

  10. A team needs mostly role players. We have up and coming stars already. Spurs are preserving flexibility…Kornet's front loaded contract and team option, Kelly, if he works out, can be resigned, but we traded 2 expiring contracts for 1 with that trade. We have some options for the back of the bench, as is brought up in this call. We have what we need to run out flexible lineups, and have some injury resistance built into the roster. Now, Harper and Bryant might take some time to develop…I know people will expect them to be the year 3 version of themselves this season, but we are already well positioned to be competitive and fight for a playoff spot, and a play-in is all but guaranteed (injuries not withstanding).

  11. We needed Kornet and Olynyk in the worst way. Now all we need is a big bodied stretch 4 to get for the minimum. say trey lyles, Chris Boucher. And of course Bol Bol as he is the same player as Wemby and just as skilled pretty much. LOL. Maybe Devin and Keldon get traded, probably not though.

  12. I don’t know about y’all but Carter Bryant’s body language was a little weird during Cali classics. I know it’s summer league but I’m just saying….

  13. You usually block me , but let’s be honest they have done squat nothing , that is why we’re the best 3rd teammates and maybe 10th best team in west Wemby needs help , fox is good but we need a big name or Wemby will walk .

  14. Thank you Wesley adn Branham i will root for you guys like i did White when he won his 1st ring in Boston, etc.🙏🏾🙏🏾💯

  15. Spurs are so deep. It is actually crazy. We can see a lineup of Fox Castle Vassell Sochan Wemby. And Bench is Harper Barnes Keldon Kornet Olynk Champagnie Bryant. In my opinion Olynk Champagnie and Bryant are only used when needed but most likely will sit on the bench. This is Keldon and Vassell prove it year. They have to prove they belong in this team or they are getting traded since we will have to think about salary issues near the future as well. Anyways, future is bright Spurs fans and we should make the playoffs this year 👍

  16. I’m not mad at the Olynyk trade, just a little disappointed/concerned. In my opinion, whoever is playing the 4 this season is going to determine how far we go, barring injuries. You could trade Devin and 1st round picks for Trey Murphy and go from a team that makes it to the playoffs, to a team that genuinely can contend in the west.

I don’t think the Spurs would do this for various reasons, but I would hope they are considering it at least.
