Bulls management pulled the team because they could no longer make big money off them. Gamblers woukd make more if the Bulls lost due to the higher stake odds. Basketball is not much different from boxing it can be easily corrupted.

I think another big aspect is Pippen was ready to get paid. He signed such a shit contract that once he became one of the top players in the league he was getting paid way less than guys who weren’t even as good as him. No way the Bulls were ever gonna pay him top dollar so I can’t really say I blame him. Other than Pippen I think everyone else would’ve signed a 1 year deal and if everyone did maybe Pippen does too. Who knows but it is sad that they didn’t even get the chance to. Plus with Krause and his hatred towards Phil Jackson and Jordan saying he wasn’t gonna play for the Bulls under another coach pretty much sealed the deal. I still blame Kraus and his little man syndrome for the whole ordeal.

"Run it back" means the same teams play again.. He had a stacked team so he liked his chances but there were other teams with good chances and he prolly believes he never got the opportunity to prove he would've still beat them.
