The Houston Rockets Are About To Become UNBEATABLE

What squad do you think would like to take Dame? Put him with Houston. I like that. That’s real nice. Now, does he play backup to Fred? You know, I think that’s a conversation, but you put him on that team where there is a KD, there’s defense around him, there’s length around him. If it’s a smaller guard, pair him with length around him. I think that’s a great fit for him in Houston. Should the Houston Rockets actually sign Damen Lillard? That’s what we’re going to be talking about in today’s video. I’m also going to get into Russell Westbrook who did play for us of course during the bubble season where he probably had the best season of his career at least from an efficiency standpoint. But that was obviously like Russ when he was still like somewhat in his prime. Now he’s not in his prime. He’s more of just a role player like glue guy. Talking about Dame, it’s hard for me to ignore this because with all due respect, if this was Malcolm Brogden or Taius Jones, who I like both of them, but if it was those guys, I wouldn’t see a reason to bring them in behind Fred because I rather just develop Reed Shepard if I’m being completely honest. But when Damen Lillard comes into play, it changes everything literally because he averaged 25 a game last season. And Dame is one of my favorite players of all time. You go back to when the Rockets played the Blazers in the playoffs and he hit that game winner of course to send us packing. I mean that’s not the same name but again 25 a night doesn’t rely on athleticism. Kevin Durant had a similar injury basically the same injury as Dame and he came back even better. I think the same thing will happen for Dame. But the thing about Houston is they’re not going to rush him in because they do have Reed who’s going to play. They have Aaron Holidayiday. They’ve got Fred. They’ve got Kevin Durant. got nine guys on the roster with a wingspan over seven foot. They were fifth in defensive efficiency last season. The Rockets are unbelievably talented. I think honestly the West is theirs to lose cuz the thing about the Thunder is they did win the championship but now everyone’s getting paid. Chat 250 million. Shay the biggest contract in NBA history. Jaylen Williams is about to get paid. The other Jayla Williams just got paid. It’s not sustainable. That dynasties are not going to happen moving forward. And that’s why the Rockets need to take advantage because ShenGun is on a rookie extension, which isn’t that much money in the grand scheme of things. Kevin Durant is about to get extended for two years, but it’s still a two-year deal. And Men Thompson is still on his rookie deal. You moved Jaylen Green to go get Kevin Durant, and you got off of Dylan Brooks’s contract, too. So, the Rockets, they have so much money to the point where they were able to get Dorian Finny Smith and Clint Capella. Like, think about that for a second. and they were able to trade for KD and they’re about to give him a massive max two-year extension which probably will be around, if I had to guess, I don’t know, 60 at least $60 million a year. So, the Rockets can comfortably pay that and they still have money to go out there and to bring in Dame because it is going to be a bidding war. I know everyone’s like, “Oh, Dame wants to be out west. He wants to be with the Warriors.” I don’t think that’s the case. I think Dame is going to go to the team that presents him the best chance to win a championship where he can play a role and that is literally the Houston Rockets. So the first thing that I’m asking myself is do I believe in Reed Shepard. I do in the long term but in terms of year two I really don’t because there’s a reason why he of course was with GLeague is he’s still developing and even though he was the third pick just you know a year ago basically that’s perfectly fine. He can spend time in the G-League. He can continue to work on his game and he can be a huge big-time player for the Rockets down the line. But in terms of right now, I do think the Rockets should go the veteran route and get Damen Lillard. I mean, it’s just too hard to ignore. I mean, we be talking about him coming off of the bench here and being able to score for the Rockets and run the offense and even late game situations, he’s so clutch to the point where you’d have to probably have him out there even if it is next to Fred. So, I love the thought of that. The Rockets definitely their holes coming into the off season were their shooting and that’s exactly what Dame does is he is a big-time shooter. So is Kevin Durant. I mean I get that these guys might be like pushing towards the end of their careers. But I mean it’s 2025 guys. I mean even though you’re 30 I don’t know how old Dame is because he’s a free agent. So it doesn’t show his age or his numbers or anything on this. Let’s see. Dame Dame Lillard age. Dam is 34. I was going to say I was g Okay, 35 and July 15th. I I was assuming he was in his like mid-30s. I mean, this is what the Rockets need though to pair with their younger players. And that’s exactly why I’m excited about Kevin Durant is because Jaylen Green wasn’t even a part of the future anyway. The Rockets were actively shopping him. So, you move him and Dylan Brooks for salary and then of course you give up the 10th pick. Magnificent, man. That’s just absolutely wonderful what Rafael Stone was able to do and now he has the potential of bringing in Dame Lillard off of the bench as like a six-man type of role. I think you have to definitely do that. And then in terms of Russell Westbrook, 13 points a game, five rebounds, six assist, 45% from the field. Obviously Russ isn’t going to give you anything from three as Rockets fans would know that. He didn’t even shoot the three ball, but you know, he was at 32.3%. So he’s going to be left open. That’s the issue with Russ is that he gives you as much bad as he does good. And again, like we’re Rockets fans. Russ played here when he was a much better player is you kind of have to live with the flaws of Russ and it sort of outweighs the good. I think Russ would be best in a role where he is on the bench some nights and he gets in some nights and that’s just who he is. But that’s not what Russ wants and that’s not what he’s going to want when he picks his next team. he’s gonna want to play and he’s going to want to play consistently every night and I don’t see that happening with the Rockets if I’m being completely honest. So, as much as I do like Russ and I’ve got his jersey and I appreciate everything he did for the Rockets in that one and only year he was here, I don’t think he makes sense. like Dame Lillard. It’s the same thing back when Russ was brought in is it didn’t make sense to go from Chris Paul to Russell Westbrook because Chris Paul of course has the ability to shoot and he also turns over the ball like very rarely and yeah, I just I’ve never been like the biggest fan of Russ’s game in terms of winning. But as just a person and as a leader, it doesn’t get much better. Yeah, I’m going to have to say no on Russ if I’m being completely honest. To me, I’d rather just have Reed, Fred, and then Dame Lillard working his way back, which gives Reed Shepard plenty of time to develop because he’s going to be getting a lot of run. And somebody’s going to have to play when Fred’s on the bench. And and Reed, I mean, he just has too much potential to not at least be getting him out there and giving him some run. There wasn’t enough of a sample size last season to be able to determine whether or not Reed Shepard is going to be that guy or not. So, I’m excited to see him in the summer league and I’m definitely excited to see him in the regular season. But, this is a guy that could score the lights and shoot the lights out of the basketball. He can also facilitate and playmake. Of course, with his size, nobody’s expecting him to be a lock down defender, but it’s just going to be the effort, the energy, the tenacity. Yeah, Reed Shepard, man. I’m glad the Rockets picked him up last season, and I’m excited to to see what he does, of course, going into year two. But for me, I’m definitely off on Russ. I don’t think he makes any sense here. Dame Lillard I think makes sense, but also you probably have to realize that he’s not going to be able to go for the playoffs. Like even if he does, it’s just not enough time. Like there’s a reason why you play 82 games and then you have the playoffs. One to determine who the best teams really are over 82 games. You can kind of get that. But two, so that you can get into the the flow of things, get in the rhythm, and then you go into the playoffs. And to that point, you’re ready to go. So yeah, Reed, he I think he’s honestly going to be the backup guard. I think he’s going to play consistently every single night and yeah, I mean that’s what all signs are pointing to. I don’t I don’t even think the Rockets are really going to make another move. They got their a couple big men right. They got Clint Capella. They got Steven Adams resigned. They still have Shenun obviously. So that’s set. They got their Dylan Brooks replacement essentially and Dorian Finny Smith. And now it’s just a matter of what do they do at the point guard position? They’ve got Fred. They’ve got Reed. They’ve got Aaron Holiday. They bring in Dame and the ceiling would be obviously like significantly higher with Damen Lillard, but also the floor would be a lot safer because it eliminates any sort of doubt on is Reed Shepard going to be able to get up to speed quickly

  1. Didn’t dame tear his Achilles so he would be out until 2026-27 potentially. The rockets can free up maybe 4 million dollars at the moment, it’s a fun pipe dream. I doubt the rockets make any moves until mid season. But I guess you never really know. Keep up the good work. Love to talk rockets

  2. Dame Would not come off the bench but he would sign for minimum deal because he’s still getting paid from bucks that would be next year anyway he’s done recovering the whole season

  3. Ngl but you gotta be the biggest bandwagon I’ve come across recently. I remember there was a video of you saying that you wasn’t a Rockets fan anymore and that the Knicks are your team. Now you’re back a Rockets fan 😂

  4. Play Reed & let him develop, signing Dame @ this point doesn’t help the Rockets, he won’t play a minute this season🤷🏾‍♂️

  5. Rockets can’t rely on Reed Shepherd he really sucked last year he plays scared he is looking like a bust.

  6. Dame just needs to take his time and not rush into any decision. If im dame i focus on getting healthy then pick a team that makes sense then. Year from now nba will look different every year is different new situations and opportunities

  7. reed sheppard can't contest any shots. he can only steal before the shot attempt which he gonna do how many time in a game? how do u ppl think reed sheppard gonna work? we have seen other teams used his height advantage already. i don't get it.
