Giannis tells IShowSpeed he ‘PROBABLY’ will stay with the Bucks ๐Ÿ‘€ + J-Dub gets PAID ๐Ÿ’ฐ | NBA Today

Just before we came on air, Shams, you had some breaking news out of Oklahoma City. What more can you tell us about Jaylen Williams? Malikica, all NBA Oklahoma City Thunder star Jay Williams has agreed to a 5-year maximum rookie contract extension worth up to $287 million, his agents, Philadelphia Duffy and Justin Haynes at WME Basketball told me. So that means Shay Gills Alexander, Cadet Homegrren, JDub, all under contract together through the rest of the decade as they enter the the primes of their career. They’re not even technically in their prime. Jay Gills Alexander 26. You have JDub being 24. Chad Hol 23. All maxed out, all under contract through the rest of the decade up to 200, you know, 287 for JDub. But in total here, $822 million in projected extensions for these three players. This is their core three guys moving forward. This is up about to be their third straight season as a non-t taxpaying team. Y, but clearly the Bills are going to keep getting higher. They’re going to be entering the first and second apron starting in a couple seasons now. But this is their core three. These are the players that are committed. That word commitment is big in Oklahoma City. These three players being committed to being there for the long haul. I don’t know if I’ve seen 822 million of anything. I don’t know if I’ve seen Blades of Grass, Pennies. That is a whole lot of money right there. It’s not going to kick in immediately, but you’re talking about having three max players in the era of the dreaded second apron. How does this work, Bobby? Because you told me not to be afraid. Everything you’ve told me is numbers like this is what teams are trying to avoid. I I think the biggest thing is that there’s three players 26 years or older or younger. They’re not three that are in their mid30s here. I think when you look at Oklahoma City, certainly there’s the off the court. They’re getting a new arena in 2028. We have a new television deal here potentially expansion in in a few years. So the revenue stream is going to be coming in. And then you look at the resources they have, the potential of four first round picks next year to maybe offset some of these contracts. Sam Presley has done a terrific job staggering money here. Listen, two years from now, we might see a little bit of a different iteration of this roster, but like we saw with the the ’90s Bulls, Jordan and Pippen were there. They were those six championship. And I think we’re going to see that with these three players here for the foreseeable future. Yeah. And I think they have a culture. So you understand that those three guys are going to be there and you continue to build around those guys in the future. But the thing is when you walk in that locker room, you understand you got to be 4 feet in. You can’t be halfway in. You can’t be halfway out. You got to be four feet in. This is these guys team. They have created that that cornerstone. They have created that in OKC. So when you walk in that locker room, nothing changes. So even though the pieces around them are probably going to change in the future, I think they have a culture. I think they have things built and things are in the right place for them. One of the things that was so impressive, Shams, about this team is that it’s so clear that every guy on this roster, even though they are young, knows exactly what their role is, what their spaces in this pecking order, if you will. It’s a special team. And this core, particularly with Chio Alexander, Chad Homegrren, and Jaylen Williams, they’re so connected. They both c they all celebrate each other’s success. Jaylen Williams, Chad Homegrren, they both have the same agent, Bill Duffy. So Sam Prey and that Thunder organization working with Bill Duffy over the last week or so reaching agreement on two separate extensions. Yesterday Chad Hogan up to $250 million and now today Jay Williams up to $287 million. So those negotiations were about as smooth I think as you could probably have under the circumstances. This is big business that went on after becoming the second youngest team ever to win a championship. When you have results like that, this is what comes with it. These three guys have done something that you you think about over a decade ago, Kevin Durant, James Harden, Russell Westbrook, that whole core, they got close. They couldn’t push through. This group did push through. And what you’re going to see now is uh these guys stay together and they have dozens of first round picks. Bobby has all that. All of them. I don’t have to speak to it. They’ve got all those first. They have and and think about the guys like Aaron Wiggins. Think about guys like Isaiah Joe, Jaylen Williams, the other Jaylen Williams on their bench. Those are the types of guys where as you see the roster potentially shift in two, three years, not those three, but other guys, you see other players stepping in on on contracts that you already have under team control. I’m just hoping as they celebrate with each other here, they’ve learned from their run to the championship and now they can pop bottles just a little bit easier because we saw them struggle just a little bit after they won the title. So, the Oklahoma City Thunder, their core is set. The Milwaukee Bucks though they still have questions as the summer progresses here because another big question still what is happening with Giannis attent he’s been in his home country of Greece he’s living his best life as he always does and fellas he’s been active on social media as well he joined the popular streamer show speed and he had this to say about whether or not he will stay in Milwaukee long term take a listen here LA the tax is bad New York tax is at Yeah. Hell no. A lot of people tried to convince me tried to convince me to go and play there and stuff. Oh, no. No. So, you staying in Milwaukee? Uh, pro probably. We’ll see. See, probably. I love Milwaukee. How do you read this here, Udonis? I’m I’m happy. I’m happy he’s finally come out and said it. Even though it’s a probably, we’re gonna take the probably out. He’s going back to Milwaukee. And it’s not a failure. I think you said this when we were on set. It’s not a failure to go back to Milwaukee. You’ve had success there. You’ve had the championships. You’ve had individual success. You’ve had team success. This organization has tried to do everything possible to give Giannis the opportunity to be in the best position. It just has not happened. So for him to say, I’m going to sit and look. And for there to not be too many options out there to change and put them in a championship situation, something had to happen. You’re comfortable in Milwaukee, Giannis. You don’t owe anybody any explanation for that. Go be comfortable and enjoy the rest of your basketball career. You work hard and you earned it. I wish I had a degree in body reading body language. I I I don’t. But I I just look at what Milwaukee was able to do this off season. They’ve gone full steam ahead of building this roster around Giannis. You don’t go out and wave Damen Lillard and and take a $23 million cap hit or go sign Miles Turner and bring back some of the players Bobby Portoris and Gary Trend and uh sign Gary Harris here to to think that they’re going to potentially lose Giannis here. you go full steam ahead to try to build a roster around him. And if we get to the point he turn goes into the front off and says, “I want out.” We’ll address that later. But I’m looking at it that Giannis is going to be on this roster when the season starts. We’ll see. We’ll see him in Milwaukee. We’ll see you in Milwaukee, Giannis. We still have a couple of months, a couple of weeks for Giannis to to marinate on this. Of course, before the beginning, it’ll be more time than that. It’ll be more time. It won’t be the draft. It wasn’t the draft. clearly wasn’t free agency, not going to be summer league. The next two months is when Giannis Dumbo, his inner circle, they’re going to have to have some real conversations. Until then, continue on the jet skis because that looks like a whole lot of fun.

Shams Charania joins NBA Today to break the news that the Oklahoma City Thunder & Jalen Williams have agreed on a 5-yr/$239M rookie max contract extension that could potentially be worth up to $287M. Then, Bobby Marks and Udonis Haslem react to Giannis Antetokounmpo telling popular streamer IShowSpeed that he’ll “probably” stay with the Milwaukee Bucks.

  1. Good to know Gianniss has a best friend in IShowSpeed like Lebron has a best friend in Brian Windhorst.

  2. ESPN slowly realizing not everyone wants to live and work in a big market. Giannis should never leave Milwaukee unless itโ€™s to an even smaller market. Heโ€™s too humble and nice. Heโ€™ll get his โ€˜breadโ€™ as they say. But he wonโ€™t change his character.

  3. No matter where giannis goes you will have to gut the team and he definitely will have no help so it's a waste of time to get traded

  4. Everybody think they know what Giannis going to do, dam heโ€™s dam if he do and damned if he donโ€™t whatever Giannis choose to do he deserves it Milwaukee is his team regardless if they are a first round exit as UD said he doesnโ€™t owe anyone an explanation.

  5. Woj would have sleepless days to get that information out of Giannis. Now we're taking clips form streamers? L Shams

  6. Giannis invited ishowspeed to a Bucks game in Milwaukee. Why don't they show that clip? LIARS AND PROPAGANDA.

  7. Who is this moron that is holding out stupid hope that Giannis will randomly want to leave Milwaukee ๐Ÿ˜‚ he has literally never said he wanted out yet this guy thinks he will randomly ask to leave

  8. Shams basically shredding his credibility here. He's either committed to his narrative or he's ferrying water for someone in Giannis's camp. You want the real people, find the Milwaukee media. They' have the pulse on this way more than Shams does.

  9. Baby lucky thunder officially cooked. They're too expensive. Not to mention Houston, Denver, Clippers got better
