The OKC Thunder LOCKED UP The NBA’s Next Dynasty

The OKC Thunder LOCKED UP The NBA’s Next Dynasty

We got some breaking news from Sham Strania just broke 50 seconds ago. Yo, uh Oklahoma City Thunder all NBA star Jaylen Williams agreed to a 5-year max rookie contract extension that could reach $287 million. They just Bill Dusty and Justin Haynes of WME basketball told ESPN got his bread, ladies and gentlemen. The money, man. SGA, Chad, Jayla Williams, all big bread. SJ got the 285. I believe check can get up to 250. Jaylen W get up to 287. Who gonna pay for all this [ __ ] Another another owner could put something on it. Another another owner when I trade him. Who going to pay for all of this? Got him for another season. That’s the best part about it. It don’t kick in. It don’t kick in on my dollar. We talked about it yesterday with the chat news. They said there was momentum with Jaylen Williams. Apparently, there was a lot of momentum. Got his deal done a day later. Okay. See, championship window extended. They got these dudes all locked up, I believe, for five more years. Nobody took a pay cut, huh? Nobody. One of you others. Got them ch They got the ring first, man. Get your money, man. Get your money. Oh, man. Yeah. Damn. I mean, obviously they got We’re on the topic, right? So, I’m reading like, so we talking about this [ __ ] yesterday, right? And it’s just funny how people interpret [ __ ] that we say or how they want to inter like how they how they want to how they want to interpret it. Like that [ __ ] is amazing, dog. Like, I’m just I’m just going through this. Like, you know how many people said, “I was hating yesterday.” And people other people’s like, “What?” He asked the question. Mhm. Like other people like he he only asked the question. He didn’t say he didn’t deserve it. Like he just just asked the question like that’s what 15 and eight get you 250. That’s that’s all I asked. Got 50. You can literally say y’all and they somehow turned y’all into you said check got check got 250 yesterday up to 250. Wait got both. Yeah. All everybody signing back. Yeah. Damn. I didn’t hear about Chad. So Jay was less. Yeah. [ __ ] Mhm. M damn. Yeah, he got the same amount as SCA. So, we’ve talked about the Thunder not extending their championship window, uh potentially being the next dynasty in the NBA. Do you guys feel like by locking up this big three core, the Thunder have given themselves at least an opportunity to win one more championship during this four to five year window? Yeah. Yeah. They dealing with the realistically, how how long can they actually stay together with this new CBA? No. No. He just proved he willing to pay. Whatever the owner did, whatever the whatever this, he just proved he willing to go over. So they can they can keep that that big three core. They’re going to have to move some other pieces around, but not those three. They can keep the big three. So what’s Hartenstein? How many more Henstein got? So I believe uh two more years I believe, but let me double check. So yeah. So they got how many more? I want Hardenstein, Dort. How long is this new CBA deal for? So Harnstein has a team option uh after this season for uh 26 27. So he’s going to play next year. So he’s going to play next year. Then team option. So they money don’t kick in next year. Lou Dor has a team option 26 27 as well. They’re going to take a pay cut. Peruso signed through 2829. He good. Chad obviously through 2930 if not more. How about then? So next year Next year none of this money affects anybody. No. So they’re good next year. It’s that the following year. They’re at like 186 right now. Yeah. But they good. So that following year is when they have to think. Uh no. But they got guys on team options like you know what I’m saying? Like team option boom boom. Yeah. They can read. But they’re going to have to cut those teams options team option. Go back in do the two for how dudes doing out the two. So those guys got to take the pay cut. Yeah. Yeah. That’s where it goes. Or just take the cut. Or go somewhere else. If if you want to win, you pay you take the cut there or you go get your money, right? So if they win another one within this time frame, them dudes is out of there. Yeah, for sure. Damn sure. They still got a bunch of guys on rookie deals that some of those guys will have team options coming up. Joe and all them Wiggins and got Kase Wallace. Uh he’s a key part of what they did. I’m saying he’s still cheap. And they just had the 12th pick in the draft. They d [ __ ] 12th pick. Yeah, they got Sorber at 15 out of Georgetown. This [ __ ] is they deferred one of their picks. Uh they traded the 24th pick, Nick Clifford. So yeah, they [ __ ] listen. Get a 2027. Yeah, got 12. Still got some Clippers pick. Still got some swaps left. They they have good problems. Won a championship got the number one pick, James Worthy. Yeah, back then it was [ __ ] up. But that’s where you got the steampion rum when you can’t trade you can’t trade consecutive uh draft picks. You can’t trade consecutive first round is because of that James Worthy deal cuz he gave up the number one pick. So they’re in a good place moving forward I think because um so we stated because of NIL these kids stay in school longer. So now they getting able to draft when they are drafting these kids. Now Oklahoma City that is you getting a 24 25 year old dude that you can just he ready to play. So they picked that 24. I’m saying but moving forward right just just in case these mother dudes leaving you you can plug guys in that know how to play already cuz they [ __ ] old now. So because you’re not going to go out and get a 19 year old to put in these with I don’t think with these guys once you get to start winning you going to do what Golden State did. You’re going to add dollars and all these other pieces that know how to play already. Yeah. cuz all their I mean depending if all their picks in the lottery and you get just first round it don’t matter at that point. Yeah. If you got three championships you you pick a guy at 25 26 whatever the pick is for for the last pick in the first round. Warriors [ __ ] they going to be somebody that’s decent. They play the [ __ ] Remember the Warriors got the three pick. They didn’t play. It’s [ __ ] up. It’s good problems to have. Ladies and gentlemen, great problems. Just to answer your CBA question, uh it’s through the 2930 season, but they can opt out after 2829. We’ll see. Oh, yeah. Yeah. I’ve been out. Okay. Yeah. Not to [ __ ] on Devin Booker’s money, but by any means. Wait, Deon Booker. Talk about that in a second. 80 a year, right? Yeah. 802, I think. Yeah. Not the [ __ ] on his extension by any means. But yeah, I just thought it’s only two year though, right? coming up. What we talking about? That’s one of those moments. We were quick to the punch on that, ladies and gentlemen. Within 50 seconds of Sean tweeting, we had that news up. We appreciate it. Yeah. So, let’s get to the other sitting on Phoenix. Huh? No, they feel like that’s three years. [ __ ] I did it, too. Are they going to keep their foot on the gas? Damn. Good backgrounds. But let’s move over to Phoenix now. But congrats Jaylen Williams. Uh, great season. They got their version. Not saying they’re exactly like, but the MJ and Scotty duo, they have the modern version. At least they took they picked me like don’t do that. Not like that. Modern version. See, you you see now you triggering me. Not like that. You triggering me. Cuz you just did it. I didn’t do anything. What did you just say? MJ and what? Scotty. Okay. So now you I didn’t say Batman and Robin. No. No. You said what? H. You said the modern day. The modern day. It’s a modern version. So when they said that [ __ ] back in 200, what’s the name? Everybody got mad at me because I reminded them what they said. I didn’t trigger you. You triggered yourself. All one two combos was the same. This is who they referred to. It was the gold standard and the gold standard. And that’s what everybody did. They acting like I just make the [ __ ] up. All right. Well, in other So don’t do that. Don’t do that. Don’t make him pimping. So is it 1 A and 1 B? He himself one B himself because six because six years from now you don’t want people to go back to pretend that he wasn’t option two. But I feel like his ring counts as much as SGA’s ring. They all have the same ring. Yeah, that’s Yeah. Yeah, I bet. I’m pretty sure we celebrate three go like oh OKC they let James walk. Yeah. What’s so funny is that he was part of the big three, but he came off the bench and uh they thought they can and they thought they didn’t outsmart James and but they didn’t think he was going to become that. They picked No, no, no. They they thought that was really good, but I don’t think they would. Okay, so back then remember six. So the number one six man was basically Genobi. Yeah. So basically anybody who got you know was in that role they got handicapped under Genobi. So that’s what they thought they could do. So all no, we’ll pay um Ibaka. Yeah. get the money and then we can, you know, pay James and Houston’s like and Houston’s like, “We’ll take you.” Yeah, I dig it. So, cuz they could have been Now, I think they could have been the Golden State. Absolutely. They would have been giving people. They should have been Golden State. What? A couple million dollars prevented that from happening. So, how many more titles uh will the Thunder win? We asked to chat with this core. We gave the option of one, two, or three plus. We did not have zero as an option. I just want to point that out. But 62% of the chat thinks the Thunder can win at least one more titles. 30% says they can win two. 8% of the chat thinks they can win three plus which would make them a dynasty. But a lot of other teams in the league have some things to say about that. A little more Thunder talk before we move on. So under thunder in other news today, Sha announced OKC and Chad Homegrren have agreed to a 5-year rookie max extension which could be worth up to $250 million. Homeg run averaged 15 points, eight rebounds, two blocks in 32 games this season, missing a three-month stretch with a pelvic injury. Had the highest plus minus for any player in the 2025 NBA playoffs. Team is also reportedly in discussions with Jaylen Williams on a rookie extension as well. Uh as a reminder, JDub all-star, all NBA, and all defensive selection this season. So smart move for the Thunder to lock up their big three long term. 158 gets you 250. Yes. God dang. Up to 280. though. I thought it was 285. No. So Shay got four, 285. Chess got five. Could be up to 250. I think he’s got to make a all in there or something in that that range to hit that 250 benchmark from your rookie deal, too. 535 million between those two players. 15 and eight get you 250. 2.2 blocks, too. 2.2 blocks. 32 games. 30 trajectory. KJ better stop passing that [ __ ] Who you [ __ ] [ __ ] you passing for? He was having that when they traded him Houston. Yeah, I know. [ __ ] you passing for, [ __ ] Stop passing to these [ __ ] [Laughter] [ __ ] Go get that [ __ ] Throw it up on the glass, man. He’s been in league four years. Yeah, I think Mr. Obviously his No, no, I’m just saying so he’s played the whole first year. He’s played a total of 147 total games in his career. M. How much they get? 285. 285. 285. What? 250 up to 250. Up to 285 and up to 250. So 4 285. Five. Up to 250. You 7 foot boy. You You just got to look like you about to do some [ __ ] And that’s cuz he got to stay healthy for that to even make sense for that going. I mean, he’s 7 foot. I mean, you know, it’s just one of those things where um this is what we was talking about early in the season that Chad is going to ask for the max and they’re not going to be able to say no. Jayen Williams, you got you got MVP. Y’all going to get the same You got a um Allstar AllNBA NBA in all NBA and you going to make the same exact money as Chad. Maybe a little more. And we’ll get Chad just a tad bit. Just a tad. Just a tad bit. We’ll get We’ll get Chad’s deal done before we get your deal done. Yeah, because you see But it’s his it’s priority. It’s It’s hard. I can’t find 610 with a 44. I can find I I can get a I can find a threeman. I can I can find I can sweep through the NBA. You know this. So, you know that that made sense where you rather get more boxes. Yeah, you can. Let’s go back to But 15 and eight. 15 and eight. 250 super max. [ __ ] He makes more than Sangon, right? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Does he make more than um last year? Uh Moy Moy got 220 I think at 220. So I I got a question. How many 7 foot centers you think can sustain 15 and 10 for more than six plus years? Sevenfooters. Wait, the real sevenfooters are the ones that be like I’m six I’m 6’9. Mo got 5270. 227 27. My bad. My shouted. My bad, brother. Defensive player of the year, I think. Uh oh, the defense. Oh, the defense pushed him up. Push that right up. Seven footer. So, we’re talking about My bad. Is KG part of that? Is is um No, remember saying seven. We’re saying seven foot centers. Oh, centers, right? Cuz Ched is a center. No, he’s not. What is he power? He’s a four. Is he playing it? Do they have him as a power forward or a center? I think he’s the four. He plays a four. I don’t Hardenstein is the five. Yeah. Okay. Let me read. Let me season wasn’t there. Yeah. Yeah. So hurt. So he started at the but then he was hurt too. So and then then Hartstein came in. Yeah. But Hardstein is the five. Okay. So the same thing same same question. What 7 foot power forward sustained production 15 and 10 longer than six years. The Anthony D to warrant this type of contract that we talking about handful. Rookie Max. Got Tim Duncan, you got KG, you got dirt. call Anthony Towns. So the trajectory for him Davis didn’t don’t fit that because he he played center center a little bit then. So they got Embiid in here. They got AD and Embiid as the shifting bigs. I mean but Bigs always got paid. I mean Bigs always but these are the legendary bigs that are getting paid. That’s what we’re saying. And if you go if you go even even if you go back if you even if you go back you’re talking about even our era like it was easy $100 million as a big remember Donald Ford what he averaged three and three as a backup backup he made 42 42 a couple times 42 million three and three as a backup backup what’s their trajectory for him there has to be a potential outline for them for him it would be 15 and 10 I would look and see be like all right giving us you said 15 and eight he got they got him that so sustaining 15 and 10 for 10 seasons these are all the guys that sustain that you don’t think it bumps up four guys five n I think they I mean that’s a rare it’s a rare four guys it’s a rare commodity so my question is is he going to sustain 15 and 10 for the next five years as home as we seen last year as long as you don’t get hurt but if he plays the so the thing is if he played the five he would average more rebound bounds, I believe. Tell me why. Cuz he’s down there. He He’s down. He closer cuz he he’s going to have to box out more. He’s going to have to do things at a fiveman. That’s why Rudy go average was so many rebounds. Before Harkenstein. Yeah. But but you know what I’m saying? Just playing the five consistent. You are so he before Harkenstein. He had to play the five. Eight rebounds. Eight re that should have been 13. That’s why I used to just look at him like how you not giving me 12. But a game cuz he cuz he wonders. He don’t get offensive rebounds and [ __ ] and he stays on the perimeter. He don’t get offensive rebounds. Facts. So just like Brook Lopez, he get he don’t get offensive rebounds. And Wimby some [ __ ] you’ll be like, “Oh shit.” Yeah. That’s the difference between him and Wimby though. Wimby goes for the offensive glass. He he goes against the boards. Yeah. Cuz I think Wimby’s I can’t speak cuz I didn’t see him play early. He probably shooting and [ __ ] came late. Yeah. See Wimby gets his first year damn near almost two and a half off rebound. So yeah. So he’s going he’s making himself available. Ched is roaming on a perimeter hunting. If he if he learns this I think he’s warranted. If we look at projections for 15 and eight for the next five years it’s like if Chad if Chad and Wimby wanted to average 15 rebounds a game. There’s nobody stopping him. Yeah. If that’s just a mindset. Now, if he presents himself and goes every time, I’m gonna go every single time. Period. If I go every single time. No, defensively, they’re gonna clean up all defense and then offense. Like, I can I’m longer than y’all, my arms longer than y’all, and I’m athletic, right?

  1. Glad these young cats get their money. It sucks the owners are too incompetent to pay the rest of the team what they’re worth and will expect these brothers to take a cut to build a team around them. And people will dump on SGA for getting paid instead of looking at the owners.

The 2nd apron is more bs than the tax is

  2. If you want to keep good players, you need to pay them. Also, all of these guys- SGA, Chet and JDub- are still getting paid less than Booker's new contract. And Booker hasn't won anything yet. So, I don't wanna hear anything about OKC's big three getting overpaid.

  3. chet is 210 at 7’1. he getting bullied by guards and wings for boards. plus Hartenstein getting boards too

  4. Dub and Chet’s extension don’t kick in till 2026/27. Shais don’t until 2027/28 so they have 2 full seasons before they actually get hit with the big bill.

Then everyone keeps saying okc needs to draft well end of the draft. They have 12 first round picks till 2032 which they already would pick at the end as a back to back #1 seed do but okc owns first round picks from

    -76ers
    -Utah
    -Denver
    -spurs
    -clippers pick swap
    -Dallas pick swap

As well as 15 2nd round picks

    Team friendly deals:
    – Aaron wiggins salary is front ended and goes down every year till 2028/29 on 8.3 million with a team option
    – Isiah joe same thing by 11 million in 2027/28
-Jaylin Williams 8 million a year till 2027/28 with team option
-Ajay Mitchell 2.85 million a year till 2027/28
Next year they can have up to 3 first round picks.

They can trade those picks for future assets for teams trying to draft now, they literally have no room on roster and can continue to keep collecting more assets. We just seen the pelicans trade pick 23 and an unprotected first round pick to move 10 spots up in the draft.

Okc is not even a first apron team yet and this season will be there second time in luxury tax.

The following players are on team options meaning OKC controls their destiny when it comes to either side and trades to create trade exceptions
    – Isiah hartenstein
    – Lu Dort
    -Isiah joe
    -Kenrich Williams
    -Aaron wiggins
    -Nikola Topic
    -Ajay Mitchell
    – Thomas sober

assets/cuttings okc will most likely do
    – Kenrich Williams 7 million till 2026/27 probably gets traded to a team that needs big depth
    – Ousmane Dieng if he doesn’t make a huge jump is still 22 and a young rebuilding team would give up some pieces to have a 6’10 player who’s played as many games as Chet and still raw

Talented drafted to cover the load in future
    – Thomas sober is drafted to cover for ihart and learn off him and Chet before Ihart becomes to expensive to resign
    – Nikola topic is our cheap version to replace what we lost in Josh Giddey to get Caruso

The key things okc needs to do is manage until 2027/28 that’s when things start to get tight. Also in that time okc started the season as the youngest team in the league of course they’re going to get better

    Ihart is 27
    Shai is 26
    Dort is 26
    Wiggins is 26
    Isiah joe is 25
    JDub is 24
Chet is 23 but only played 112 regular szn games, he’s not even played a season and a half yet…
    Jwill is 22
    Ajay is 22
    Dieng is 22
    Wallace is 21
    Topic is 19
    Sober is 19

They were the 4th most injured team in the league only behind the Mavs, pelicans and 76ers. 3 lottery teams a healthy okc alone next year

    Games missed
    Chet- 50 games
    Ihart- 25 games
    Caruso- 28 games
    J will- 35 games
    J dub- 11 games
    Dort- 11 games
    Wallace- 14 games
    Ajay Mitchell- 46 games
Ousmane Dieng- 45 games but only about 30 were injuries

A healthy okc alone is a new team in regular season compared to last season.

  5. Happy for all the players but this is not sustainable long term. It’s logical to keep the championship team together but if they can’t win a 2nd time then they will have to split up the team.

It’s the same thing with Boston. Celtics needed to win a 2nd time and when that didn’t happen, they had no choice but to break it up because the organization will be losing money.

  6. I don’t think Kenyon asked the wrong question 😂. That is a valid question “15 and 8 gets you 250?”

  7. Looking at Chet raw statistics u can question the extension. But when u say it's projection on the player he will become at his peak. A 7'1" rim protecting stretch 5 that fits perfectly with your 2 star wings. U have to do it to lock him up and it's smart

  8. I think the most it can get to is 85% of the cap. SGA 30% Dub 30% and Chet 25%. Right now the salary cap is 154 million so that leaves 23 million available in the salary cap but most competing teams are in the second apron. The second apron is 207 so OKC can spend an additional 75 million and still be under the second apron and if they want to be a second apron team they can throw another 10 on there. They'll be fine. Look at the guys on their roster right now. Wiggins 9 million dollars, Wallace 5 million dollars, Topic 5 million dollars, Kenrich 6 million, Ajay Mitchell 2 million. Thomas Sorber the 15th pick in the draft is getting 5 mill a year for the next 4 years. Barnhizer the other new guy is on a 2 way that if it pans out will become similar to Ajay Mitchell's 3 years, 2 million a year. J Dub the third team all NBA second team all defense guy still has on year of his 5 million a year salary to go. Sam Presti is an NBA draft wizard. He will always be able to squeeze that last 25 million dollars of the cap into 4 or 5 high value role players who are either rookies like Topic and Sorber or a guy like Isaiah Joe who was let go by Philly and signed for 9 million spread across 3 years. Plus Presti has said that the new contracts will be enough "until the next CBA agreement" which people are neglecting. You don't have to plan for ten years you just have to wait out the current CBA. I'm an OKC fan we'll be fine. Just keep recruiting good rookies and flip them for more picks if they get too expensive, rinse repeat.

  9. Okc can’t win they don’t resign harden they get clowned for over a decade,. They win it all and sign there core big 3 now they messed up? Just say yall don’t like okc

  10. These guys deserve their contracts. All these other guys are making max money and can’t even make it out the first round.

  11. These dumb azz dudes are click bait. Them contracts dont kick in until 2 to3. Yrs. From now. Smh these dudes make me sick. All for a dollar smh

  12. Those 3 contracts are gonna put them well into the 2nd apron when they into affect…. Gonna be interesting to see the repeater tax bill

  13. OKC is owned by a group of millionaires and billionaires whose net worth exceeds billions, that's why they can afford that roster even with other big contracts from CaruShow, Lu Dort, iHart, Wiggins & Zai Joe.

  14. Is this really the next dynasty in the making, or are we just setting up another OKC heartbreak? With all this talent, can they actually stay together long enough to win multiple championships, or will their 'good problems' turn into a massive salary cap nightmare? 🤔💸

  15. Old niqqas hating like usual 🤦🏾‍♂️ talm bout 15&8 for one he was the 3rd option played 30 games & IS A MEANCE DEFENSIVELY Chet would hold K martin to 15&8 or worse & he’d swear he got off on em 🤦🏾‍♂️ smh

  16. Bravo to them. For a significant portion of the year, they will remain competitive (with those draft picks as well). Although it's a small market, they're winning.

  17. locked up for the next 6 years. with others having “team options” contract and “rookie contracts” OKC have the Flexibility to surround their core 3 in years to come. No other teams in the NBA can say that.
