Nets get A+ for TRADE π€π₯ #NetsWorld #BrooklynNets #NBA
writing and I gave the Nets an A grade for this trade. I thought they did really well just from, you know, initially when I first saw the trade, I see they got an unprotected 2032 first round pick from a Nuggets team that is really going allin right now to build around Nicole Yogic and I was like that was a much better draft asset than I thought that they were going to get for Cam Johnson. And then also they get Michael Porter Jr. who’s a dump and a distressed asset. But I feel like Bill Simmons was missing several things on this trade. Like I think he was very undervaluing the value of that 2032 first round pick and it being unprotected from the Nuggets. It’s like ESPN wrote an article and uh Tim Bontemps and some of those guys were talking to a GM who said that that is viewed as a pri or it was viewed as a prized asset around the league and that teams weren’t sure if Demur was going to part with that.

The only justification for the Simmons POV I can see is maybe he thinks building around a potential trade for Giannis or another superstar.
Porter is a bad contract overall but could certainly have value as an expiring. Especially if hes able to showcase more than he was allowed in Denver
