This is a STEAL for the Magic…
We used to pray for times like this. The Orlando Magic continued their winning ways in this off seasonason. They lock up Paulo Bancero for the next five plus years as well as sign Mo Vagner to a very team-friendly contract. Of course, that has a no trade clause. We’re going to get into both those signings. Plus, we got an offensive assistant to join the staff as well. Guys, welcome to Magic Digest. I’m your host, Patrick Revity. This is your one-stop shop for Orlando Magic basketball content here on YouTube. Now, make sure that you’re subscribed to the channel. Trying to build an Orlando Magic Basketball community here on YouTube. We’ve done a pretty good job. I believe we’re somewhere nearing in on 1600 subs. The goal was 2,000 before the season started. I think we’re going to hit that. I knock on wood. Don’t want to jinx it, but appreciate the support. Now, let’s get into exactly this rookie max extension. 5 years, $287 million. This was the first time that he was eligible, obviously, in this off season for this deal. and it is the first rookie max since 2021 with both Luca Donuch and Trey Young. So obviously an amazing accomplishment for Paulo Bancero. You a lot of uh NBA Twitter has been discussing Jaylen Williams or Paulo Vancero. Now obviously I’m definitely biased to it, but I’d have to go with Paulo Vancero. He is the number one for this franchise and that’s no shade to France Vagner, but definitely good to lock him up. We we know how uh stressful it was towards the end of last offseason to make sure that Jaylen Suggs was here long term. Obviously, it came down to a dollars and cents thing, but now we have the core pretty much intact for the time being. Uh you got you got Mo Vagner, Jonathan Isaac, Carter Jr., Bataz, Paulo Ban, Carol Vagner, Tristan Dilva, Noah Penda, Anthony Black, Jet Howard, Desmond Bane, Jaylen Suggs, Jace Richardson, and Taius Jones is one of the newcomers. Obviously, I believe this team now has one more roster spot open for another addition. And this was really, really good to be able to get this done. Now, this doesn’t hang over this team throughout summer league and through the rest of the offseason. There was some rumblings potentially about whether or not Paulo Vancer was definitely going to want to resign or if this team was able to get this deal done. I think some of that comes from the past Shaq days of maybe not want to give the the franchise guy all that much. Obviously, there was a little bit more of a story there. was kind of a bit a bit of a misleading poll I believe, but um they were able to get it done and Paulo Vancero, while he wants that table setter, it looks like this Orlando Magic team has shown him enough where he feels like he can commit to this team. So, definitely a great and positive move for this team. I don’t really know if there’s too much I can get into just right now just based off of everything without kind of getting into the projections and the predictions for next year. But I will say with what this team has done in the offseason, how they’ve kind of tweaked here and there, this Orlando Magic team, if healthy, is a serious Eastern Conference Finals contender and maybe perhaps beyond. The Eastern Conference is very much wide open. So obviously a great signing there. Now, let’s get into exactly the Mo Vagner deal of it all that is kind of uh making its rounds on NBA Twitter as well. Obviously, the Orlando Magic were able to bring back Mo Vogner, not just the brother of France Vogner on a one-year, $5 million deal. He’s got that no trade clause. Obviously, I think he’s got to protect himself on that back end where he’s saying, “I’m going to sign such a team friendly deal.” Um, his his worth is skyrocketed at the trade deadline. So, he makes sure he gets that no trade clause and he can come back healthy at whatever time that is next season and provide some very much needed scoring off the bench. last year averaged 13 points per game, five rebounds. We had talked about what this team was doing to make sure that they could bring him back. And a lot of you guys did correct me, of course, where this team was hardcapped, I believe, is what you guys were saying at the first apron, not this uh not even uh beyond that point. So, they needed to make sure that they got him on a deal that was friendly for this team and they were able to do it. Major positive. And it this isn’t just one of those kind of deals or any deal that you might see with a brother in this league. Movagner in his own right is a very very good NBA basketball player. A rotational piece on a playoff team, a rotational piece on this playoff team. So extremely happy that they were able to secure him and make sure that now they have flexibility as far as what they want to do with their with their uh center position because I don’t know if all four guys are going to be back next year. If there’s one more deal um that Welman and Anthony Parker have up their sleeves could potentially be for you know get you know trading away window Carter Jr. Jonathan Isa Gapaz. So now Mo Vagner comes into the fold. He’s not leaving anywhere. he’s not going anywhere anytime soon. Hopefully, you know, you’re going to want to sign him for even longer than uh just one year. So, this team holds flexibility. They, you know, don’t have as big of a cap hit as far as, you know, when we look at some of the other teams that we might be comparing the Magic to, such as like a team like the Boston Celtics, other teams that are in a little bit of a cap hell, if you if you will. So, major positives on that regard. Now, uh, the other move that was made, uh, two that I did want to bring up was obviously Joe Prunty or Prunty, hopefully I’m pronouncing it correctly, and one of those pronunciations comes over from Milwaukee. Offensive-minded coach was one of the holdovers before the Doc Rivers regime there in Milwaukee. Obviously, kind of makes sense that he’s would be on the way out, but all reports, everything that I’m seeing is that he’s a very uh he’s going to be a net positive. He’s a very good coach and we needed somebody also on the offensive end uh on this assistant coaching staff for Jamal Mosley and now we’ve got two God Shamgot and Joe Prunty. That’s maybe what I’ll go with for the rest of this video. So that’s really a a definite good thing as far as all of the on top of the court um additions that this team has done. So, uh, also in other news, did want to, uh, mention as well, wanted to keep this in the back of my head, was that Taius Jones got the number two jersey for this team. So, now does that mean that Caleb Houston is gone? It does appear that he is more likely than not uh going to go to a different team other than the Orlando Magic, which is kind of unfortunate, but I think we all know based off of the way that he’s been playing the last time, you know, last year or so, he’s has that spark plug potential, but he doesn’t he he wasn’t able to put it together consistently enough night in and night out to make the Orlando Magic feel, I guess, that he was one of the top priorities. Maybe he still has a chance to come back. I don’t know exactly what his market is looking like right now, but that is definitely also something to watch as this team kind of molds together and gets it gets ready for the upcoming season. In the videos coming up, I definitely want to make more on what is going on with this summer league team. I think that they want to keep a couple of their options open as far as the two-way contracts are concerned to see who can earn a position on the Orlando Magic. Obviously, we saw Jay Huff, I would believe, was one of the players that played really well for the Magic. And then I I don’t believe we uh ended up keeping him around, but uh he was a good positive from the summer league. Uh and we’re going to have to just keep an eye on that. See if anybody’s going to be able to make a difference for this team. But yes, Paulo Bancero, 5 years, 287 million, first rookie max extension since Trey Young and Luca Donuch. Definitely deserving. Definitely, in my opinion, better than Jaylen Williams. Although I got to give it up to Jub. got a he’s got a ring now and has an amazing 40 ball in the NBA finals, but still at the end of the day would go with Paulo. All of these different additions, this team is winning uh in this off season and I think that they’re going to be able to hopefully bring some of this momentum into the regular season. And whenever Mo Vagner can get healthy and rejoin this team, we got a real threat off the bench on top of some of the other guys. Going to have to trust Tristan Dilva. Going to have to trust Anthony Black. I really like this rotation. It feels like a playoff team. It feels like a team that can go beyond the first round that we’ve seen in the past couple of years. So, setting themselves up for success. But, let me know what you guys think in the comments section down below. I did put a poll uh on the channel about what you guys would grade this off season. I definitely think it’s getting into AA territory. It’s simple yet effective. But, let me know what you guys think in the comments section down below. And as always, I’ll see you guys next time with more Orlando Magic basketball content.

What is your prediction for the regular season record and how deep in the playoffs?
It feels like 2009 all over again!!!!🎉🎉🎉🎉 we finally are DONE rebuilding and by the looks of it we did it right!!! 2 rising SUPER stars, a 3rd star and defensive monster in Suggs, one of the leagues best 3 and D players in Banes, a solid vet PG and a player who’s whole career is amongst the league leaders of assist/TO ratio to lead the second unit, a very strong 6th man of the year candidate,a GREAT bench and an awesome coach!!! Man I can’t wait *****IF we stay healthy then we might be looking at the start of a dynasty……. Oh ya Wendell Carter Jr will be there as well……( neither a positive or a negative)
For the first time in many, many, many years. I am looking forward to basketball season vs football season. I am a dolphins fan that could have something to with the feeling toward football season. THE MAGIC did their homework period. New players that potentially could open the floor for our 2 stars. Additional coaching moves AGAIN GO MAGIC…..Here's to a healthy season
Steal 😅😅😅 Carmelo Anthony 2.0
Really great take sir. Respect to you.
I have been a Magic fan since 1989. This is only our 3rd quality team that can compete for the championship. It feels like 1995 vibes when we got Horace Grant and rode the wave to the NBA finals! Let’s Go Magic!!!
Need a real center
I really hope they are going to trade Carter Jr. before his contract kicks in. Isaac is also playing below his payroll tbh even though I like his game
Magic making all the right moves! Let’s pray all the players stay h….y. Let’s go!!!!
Thanks for your analysis, new to your channel but I’m subbed! Lifelong Magic Fan!
Can we please get a center and sign Cole back if he is released
