Welcome back, Caps Nation. Today, we’re diving into the Cleveland Cavaliers latest move, signing Jackson Robinson to an exhibit 10 contract. What does that mean for the team and what can Robinson bring to the table? Let’s break it down. But before we get there, do your boy a favor and smash that like button. Subscribe to keep the NBA content coming and hit that notification bell so you stay locked in all offseason. Understanding the Exhibit 10 contract. First, let’s clarify what exactly an Exhibit 10 contract entails. It’s a one-year non-g guaranteed deal that allows a player to participate in training camp. If waved, the player can earn a bonus up to 85,000 by joining the team’s G-League affiliate and staying for at least 60 days. The contract can also be converted into a two-way deal offering a pathway to the NBA roster. Jackson Robinson’s journey. Jackson Robinson’s collegiate journey is quite the odds. Starting at Texas A&M, he transferred to Arkansas, then BYU, and finally Kentucky. at Kentucky before a wrist injury cut a season short. He averaged 13 points, three and a half rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game, shooting 43.2% from the field and 37.6% from three-point range. Strengths on the court. Robertson’s strengths are somewhat noteworthy at this point. Shooting prowess. He’s a reliable shooter, especially from beyond the arc, making him a valuable floor spacer. Over the course of his five-year college career, he drilled over 226 total triples, finishing in the top 12 in the conferences he played in in back-to-back seasons from 2022 to 2024. He ended his amateur career with a career three-point percentage of 35.1%, which doesn’t sound eye popping, but he’s improved every step of the way on great volume at 6.9 attempts per contest in his final season while at Kentucky. Versatility. Standing at 67 with a 611 and a quarter wingspan, he can play both shooting guard and small forward. Something that could be really important for the Cavaliers as they look to add more size to their backcourt wing group. Being able to play multiple positions is always a plus at the NBA level. Defensive potential. His length allows him to contest shots and disrupt passing lanes effectively. He did finish the 2022 23 season with a block percentage of 2.11 13th in the WCC conference that year. Areas for improvement. As we know with most of these young prospects, especially fifth year seniors, there are areas that they can grow in. consistency. His shooting can be streaky and he needs to maintain a steady performance. This is something Cavs fans are probably pretty familiar with now as they’ve seen their fair share of streaky shooters over the years, whether it be J.R. Smith or Sam Merrill. Becoming a more consistent shooter would help him stay on the court as the ball handlers and drivers know they can count on him to knock down catch and shoot trays off of driving kicks. Physicality. Adding strength will help him finish through contact and improve his rebounding. He’s obviously got size at 67 with that 611 wingspan, but he’s 188.6 pounds. He needs to add muscle in order to be impactful on the glass at the next level. He never averaged more than the 3.5 rebounds that he did this year. Playmaking. Enhancing his ball handling skills will allow him to create more opportunities for not only himself, but his teammates. This will be key to becoming anything more than simply a catch and shoot specialist at the NBA level. The Cavs could always use more creators at the wing position. Fit with the Cavaliers. Robinson’s skill set aligns with the Cavaliers needs for wing depth and shooting. If he capitalizes on this opportunity, he could secure a spot on the roster or further develop with the Cleveland Charge, the Cavs G-League affiliate. Jackson Robinson’s journey is a testament to perseverance. With the right development, he could become a valuable asset for the Cavaliers. What are your thoughts on this signing? Jaxson Robinson could be one of those Isiah Joe or Aaron Wiggins type of players I genuinely believe that 6β7 can handle and shoot. Be crucial at the end of the bench.
he will get 2way contract
I like it. But we need some athletic forwards
I really liked him out of Kentucky surprised he went undrafted heβs talented
Another minor move that makes no difference. Altman should be fired for letting Ty leave. Big mistake before in failing to get decent backup for Allen. We need a non- alcoholic GM.
The Charge are gonna be tough.
He should shadow Struss and Merril. I think that would make for a solid start in improvement.
Stop the presses! CHAMPIONSHIP πππ
β¦.Let me guess, 6β 5β, overrated defender, questionable jumpshot, awful injury history BUT A GREAT HUMAN BEING π€£π€£π€£π€£π€£ππ lol loser franchise.
Most inept organization ever.
Cavs bout to have a fun ass summer league team
