the Oklahoma City Thunder. You win a title and then the contracts start. SGA MVP, four years, $285 million. Next, Chad Homegrren, they just signed him to a 5-year, $250 million contract. And just yesterday, Jaylen Williams, he’s good, don’t get me wrong. Five years, $287 million. That means that Williams, SGAA, and Homegr are under contract for a total of $822 million. The three of them alone in the final year of their deals will be paid $184 million, which today would be the 15th highest total team payroll. The whole reason that we thought Oklahoma City was going to be a dynasty, is that they have 14 first round picks in the next seven years. Just next year alone, they have four first round picks. They have a new arena coming in 2028. Why would I put all my eggs in the SGA homegrren Jaylen Williams basket when what I really want to do is let people graduate through the system when they get too expensive. You bring in the next set of guys, which is why you always want young players in your pipeline. How many teams have we complimented how great they are and then one injury later they’ve totally changed their plan? Indiana Pacers, anyone? Boston Celtics, anyone? All Oklahoma City is doing is promising the fact that this group of players, SGA, Homegrren, and Williams will not be the core three players at the end of these deals. They had it and they just pissed it all

OKC also has all of their players returning next season, with some new talent as well. And, when the supporting role players get too expensive, guess what? they have a bevy of top picks to bring in more young talent. But, Mr.. Samson, let's be real clear: SGA, Chet and JDub are the core of this team. They must stay together for this team to continue to be successful.
