  1. Im a diehard Wizards fan but i just cant get behind Alex Sarr. Low intensity and low IQ. He plays like hes 6'5. Kyshawn George and Tre Johnson are the best players on this summer league team.

  2. VERY LONG GAME ANALYSIS: Keyshawn George is a great shooter with touch, but missed some 3s (about 6) in this game. I like his activity defensively despite being a little slow, he’s 6’8 with a 6’10 wingspan. Despite these limitations, he plays with great pace, never rushed, gets to his spots and got to the line. He’s a sound ball handler and passer, I thought he made some plays I didn’t see last season. Very surprising defender, can really poke balls and use his length with the best of them. Finishing at the basket can be a little more troubling in the league, but here he finished a lot and often. Will Riley doesn’t have an offensive weakness, but at the moment he’s lacking a calling card on offense. He can shoot, dribble, and pass at 6’9, but lacks burst, strength, and his shot can get streaky. He will return top 10 value though, size and skill is just very good. Struggles to finish at the rim and he’s a non defender, can’t guard anyone. Dies on screens and gets burned 1v1. He’s a good passer who whips balls behind his head deep in the paint, very good feel for where his guys are and his accuracy is on point. Could very well be a secondary playmaker, needs to tighten the handle vs contact though. Very funky scoring instincts, ball wasn’t in tonight but he knows how to grind his way to his spots and convert. Tre Johnson is not surprising, elite 3pt shooter, good mid range, touch from all over the floor. He can get it off the catch and dribble, while not losing any efficiency whatsoever. He’s farther along as a passer than most give him credit for (although he settles a bit too often and he can miss reads) but he can make the basic pick and roll passes, or a one more. Lacks burst and bounce, struggles to pressure the rim in the half court and finish, and generally won’t get to the rim much in the game. 6’6 6’10 wingspan has potential defensively, but his motor and screen navigation need to improve, and so does his off ball defense. Very good showing for him, underrated ball handler too, has the shake to get his shot off. Bub is a great mid range shooter but struggles to finish at the rim just like tre, and lacks burst in traffic. This was just an off game for him, he’s a good passer who can make reads off his scoring opportunities. Still a fluid pull up shooter. Defensively I like what im seeing, 6’5 6’8 wingspan and can move his feet despite his slim frame. A bit of a space cadet sometimes and can’t chase guys around, but he’s not a sieve on this end considering the bad team defense. Sarr can pick and pop, hit an open 3, has the pop to finish over length, and has touch on his little floaters. I have questions about his passing and his decision making (he can do too much too often with his handle and shot, and stays outside A LOT) but he’s got huge upside. Can flip his hips outside on defense, cover ground with his length, and is athletic. Slim frame can get backed down on, but in general he’s got very good IQ as a team defender. Can hedge, drop, and alters a ton of shots around the basket. Rebounding is productive, size and length just lets him dominate here (don’t be surprised if his numbers are low as he does pick and pop a lot, meaning he’s outside of the rebounding area.) However, Alex really lacks feel as a playmaker and can hoist up bad shots, miss open teammates, and generally isn’t going to make anyone better. I also think his motor is inconsistent as well. If he can fix that motor, than he can become a true defensive stopper. AJ Johnson is being the advantage creator he is, speed demon, menace in transition where he has the athleticism to dunk whenever he needs to. His shot is better, a bit of a set shot off the dribble that can take a bit too long, but with space the shot looks better, but he still struggles to hit from outside. I think he can be better as a shooter, he’s so young. Now he’s not exactly a consistent finisher or shooter but he can get to the rim easily, and flashes of physicality in the paint leave me VERY optimistic. Defensively his quick feet and speed gets him in the passing lanes, can pick defenders pockets, and he can move laterally and navigate screens. Motor needs a bit of fine tuning but that’s okay. In general, this wizards team is a going to bulk up and needs to be better defensively. Khaman Malauch was amazing on defense, 7’2 7’6 wingspan, flashes of switching, dude is just massive and deters players out of the paint. I have questions about his pick and roll technique, but that can cleanup and on offense he’s got shooting touch, hit his FTs and 1 3. Great play finisher, can catch lobs despite not being an elite athlete, and his rebounding needs to get better. He gets moved by smaller players due to a high center of gravity, and being new to the game he’s not a good passer and sometimes tries to track the ball forgetting about his man he needs to box out.

  3. suns having a better young core than the wizards is crazy. kinda proves having top picks n tanking aint always a gtd. different sport but i remember how the rams recently rebuilt their entire roster out of day 2 and day 3 picks. essentially what suns are doing here. people forget suns still have a borderline superstar who still has 5 years in him. but all i hear is doom and gloom. this young core are literally the suns bench beating the wizards starters out there.

  4. Dude on ESPN said we were the most directionless franchise in the NBA… beat a team with 5 first round picks by 19 😂
    Suns will be fine.

  5. I don’t care what all the jokes are saying I’m loving my wizards young core and excited to see the team develop. Tre was exciting too watch!
