  1. VERY LONG GAME SUMMARY OF THE PLAYERS: Salun’s skill level has improved, still very raw, but he hit some 3s, played with the usual amazing motor he plays with, crashing the glass, blocking shots, switching on defense. I still have questions about the shooting touch, had some bad misses, and his handle isn’t exactly there yet. Multiple times in the game where he lost it doing too much. He had flashes of getting to the rim off 3 dribbles, I’d say. 6’10 7’2 wingspan, can help protect the rim, can be step slow due to bad awareness but overall a better showing. Still not a good passer by any stretch of imagination, or self creator. Gets many stocks defensively. Kyle flipowski dominated offensively, 7'0, can attack off the dribble, make open 3s, and has the size to score inside (his finishing can be affected vs stronger defenders) but he finished well tonight and got to the line. He's also a good passer who can spot cutters, hit them, and pass out of his drives. Hit some skip passes. Think he has more potential there, and he kept his turnovers minimal. Very good showing offensively. I have questions about his defense, not very physical, dosen't protect the rim well despite being a 7'0, and generally lacks awareness as a rim protector. He's mobile and moved his feet vs mcneely in the game though, and he's a solid off ball defender who knows his rotations and whatnot. Clayton jr. got it going against drop coverage, hit some fadeaways and middys, showed some soft touch when he was in the paint. He hit basic reads, still don't know if he'll ever become more than a connective passer as a PG. Also didn't get downhill that much, but that dosen't matter when you're an elite shooter. Hit shots, didn't monopolize the ball. Defense was lacking though, swiped too much, fouled, and generally didn't make an impact there this game. Kon knuppel was played off the ball a ton this game, didn't get many touches but showed off his passing deep in the paint and hit kickouts. He also got to the rim sometimes, could tell the lack of burst was holding him back a bit though. His shot is textbook, but wasn't falling at all this game, used his body to carve out his space and get to the line. Had a couple of dumpoff passes, and in general i like his feel for the game and decision making, never rushed at all. Definently can play with the ball in his hands and has soft touch. Average defensively, extremely competitive. Mcneely got more touches, didn't self create but hit 3s, played sound defense staying conencted to his man, and shot it well off actions. I have questions about his handle, but he silenced defensive concerns, moved his feet (i still think defense is an issue for him). At 6'8 you can't hunt him. Kalkbrenner caught lobs, protected the rim, but i feel like those post ups aren't happening in the NBA. The game has gone away from that, and he isn't exactly efficient from there either. he can hit a standstill 3, but he's not switchable at all and has to stay in the paint in order to stay productive on defense, and he's not a good passer. Cody williams, i liked his increased shooting volume but he's gotta start making shots to open up his drive. Missed open 3s, made 2 nice mid ranges off the dribble though. Needs to improve his on ball fluidty, he's a solid athlete but he's stiff on the ball and that hurts his mechanics and shooting form. Looks very robotic shooting off the dribble. Woke up and got to the rim more tonight, very good push cross, made some nice moves and got to the line/or finished. Need to see more improvement all around offensively. Isiah collier was dissapointing. Still has turnover issues, plays way too fast, is a bad shooter who dosen't shoot enough, and dosen't finish around the rim very well either. Talented playmaker and he's extremely fast, but man it was tough watching him. Didn't help that he didn't get back on defense immediately after turning it over. Missed layups, just bad decision making and bad shooting. KJ simpson can shoot, but didn't really show any NBA PG reads that he should be making.

  2. Will never understand why clayton didn't go top 7 or 5 after his amazing season. Man has Dame lillard potential. Is nba ready, can shoot from the logo and dunk on you 😐

  3. What is with these soft ass rookies nowadays. Almost all of them are sitting out. It's the NBA. Play the damn game.

  4. Really really liked what I saw from Salaun and McNeeley, hornets core might finally have some real depth to it

  5. yes i know this is summer league but the hornets looked really good today they almost allowed a comeback but especially mcneely KJ and Salaun looked good

  6. Finally Hornets loading up with young talent. Should be fun to watch. Hopefully Ball will join us.
