Gibbs White to Spurs might be off. The transfer is in jeopardy as has been reported by Sky, John Percy, Fab Britzio, Ben Jacobs, all of these guys and as it stands it is off. Best case scenario delayed. This is why. So they have Forest contacted their lawyers over potential legal action and have stopped all communication with Tottenham as things stand. So why have they done this? And maybe there’s a certain level that you can’t go to in terms of tapping up a player, but this is what they’ve done. They never granted permission uh for Spurs to speak to him. They also believe there’s also been a breach in confidentiality around his release clause. So, did him or his agent tell Spurs that yeah, if you bid 60 mil, you can have me. I’m out. And so, it’s not clear if Forest are able to block the transfer, but it is now expected to be delayed at a bare minimum. And you might be thinking, well, if tapping up seems like it must happen all the time, then surely this isn’t really going to be enforced. However, this is sounding like a near identical scenario to what happened when Chelsea wanted a lease two years ago.
