Indiana Pacers -Myles Turner’s awkward goodbye, bizarre insulting Bucks welcome! He won’t be missed!

Miles Turner just couldn’t fade away. He just couldn’t drive from Indianapolis to Milwaukee and be done with it. He had to put together a goodbye, a farewell to the Pacers and then had to say hello to the Milwaukee Bucks. I get why you feel like you’re so important you have to do these things, especially the hello part. Like the m the Bucks, they want to make a show of it. They want to show that Miles Turner is now a Buck and this is an important moment for the franchise. Blah blah blah. I totally get it. I understand that. But farewell to Pacers fans like here’s what you need. You need somebody with a red pen, an ombbudsman. And Miles Turner is making enough money at making $20 million a year over the last few years and and now going to make 26.75 over the next four. He can afford nonbudsman who can say, “Okay, we’re we’re going to redline here, here, here, and here.” And and you really need to say these things, and if you feel like saying this, don’t do it because it’s awkward and it’s unpleasant. But you can’t say these kinds of things to Miles Turner because he doesn’t know who he is publicly. Doesn’t know who he is. And that’s a problem. And that’s why he’s not going to be missed because the Indiana Pacers got good when they got real. When they got real and they stopped employing people like Feathery Victor Olado and Paul George, fake Paul George, they got really, really good. When they turned this thing over to Tyrese Hallebertton, who is a very real human being, all of a sudden they got good. And Miles Turner is not going to be missed as a part of the Pacers winning formula because that’s not who he is. Scott Agnes of Fieldhouse Files posted Miles uh the transcript of Miles comment on social media to Pacers fans and said that at the point that he wrote what he wrote, Andrew Nehard was the only guy who had liked it. And that’s a big deal, I guess, in the world of social media. Your teammates like what you post, and that means they kind of cosign. And only Andrew Nebart did that. that that sort of tells you the lack of respect for which uh you know that Miles Turner had earned within that Pacers family. This is a very special breakfast with Kent. We don’t do Saturday videos very often, but I I just I wanted to talk about Miles Turner a little bit because when he says things, some people take him seriously and you can’t do that because most of the time he’s full of crap. He he was full of crap being welcomed by the Bucks and he was full of crap in a portion of his farewell. Some of it very well written and and very sincere and and I’ll give you an example so we’re not just crapping all over Miles Turner because that’s not not what I want to do. Uh he says to Pacers fans, “It’s been an absolute privilege to play at Bankers Life/Gambridge Fieldhouse. You’ve been loyal through it all. You packed the fieldhouse, rocked with us on the road, lifted me when I needed it most, and held me accountable when I needed that, too. Man, I’ve damn near spent more time with y’all than I got to spend with my family over the years. That’s real love, and I can’t thank you enough for embracing me from day one. To the city of Indianapolis, thank you for pouring into me as a person, not just as a player. From giving back in the community alongside Turner’s Block to crossing paths in the streets of downtown to the growth of WM, you’ve made it feel like family. The city special, the heart of basketball has and always will live in Indie. Okay, nice. All right, but let’s go to the part and it could have just ended there. You know, I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did. It’s all you need to say. Brevity being concise is such a gift and it’s so ignored by so many who communicate either for a living or in a forum like this. Now, here’s where he went way off base, went way haywire, and he just can’t help himself in doing this kind of crap. But I in uh the the second paragraph, okay, let let’s just go through the first because the first is kind of nice and then we’ll get to the second. It’s hard for me to put into words what the last 10 seasons in the past 10 years of my life has meant to me. From a teenager out of Bedford, Texas, to the man and player I am today, Andy has been home through it all. You watched me grow up on and off the court just like you. I put my hard hat uh on and clocked in, clocked out every single day. All right. I mean, that’s fine. It’s a little It’s a little self congratulatory, you know, but that’s okay cuz he does work hard. I mean, there’s no question that Miles Turner has worked hard at basketball. I want to um go Pacer says, “Thank you for talking about uh this. That was weird.” It It was weird. Here’s the second paragraph. All right. Throughout the years, I put my personal pride and ego to the side and sacrificed many parts of myself and my livelihood for the betterment and advancement of this organization. I never in caps took the easy way out. I took the criticism on the chin, bit my tongue to complain, and just kept my head down and grinded through it all. In the end, it was also worth it. really you put your ego aside, did you? You you uh put your personal pride to the side and you sacrificed many parts of yourself. Did you do you know what people do? Do you know what teachers do? Teachers put aside their personal pride and ego to educate our society’s youth. And they do it for about 55 60 grand a year. The police, they put aside their personal pride and ego to keep the street safe and they do it for 60 $70,000 a year. Firefighters, they put not only that and and this goes for police, too. They put their personal safety aside and they do it for about $70,000 a year. This is this is how tonedeaf Miles Turner is. Miles Turner thinks that by working at basketball for $20 million a year, he needed to put aside his personal pride and ego in order for the the Pacers, the organization for whom he played the last 10 years to succeed to the extent that they did. This this respect this represents sacrifice to Miles Turner that that is so utterly tonedeaf that the unbudsman and I’m happy you want to hire me as an unbudsman. Hire me. Uh Tyrese and Pascal Seakum, you guys you you guys are both sharp enough that you probably don’t need one, but you’ve got enough money that you could hire me and I’ll do that as my full-time job. I’m put in fact, you don’t even have to pay me. Just run these kinds of things through me. I’ll redline it for you. I’ll get it polished up and I’ll get it right. So you don’t look like an idiot as you leave a community where you’re trying to graciously say goodbye. But you can’t get out of your own way and all of a sudden you say things that are absolutely preposterous, stupid, and tonedeaf. when I I’d like to know. I I’d like to ask a followup. If I were in like the Pacers media room and he said this stuff publicly, I’d say, could you give us an example of a a moment during which you put aside your personal pride and ego or that you felt like complaining when you took criticism, but you bit your tongue to complain. What What were you going to say as a matter of a complaint? I’d kind of like to know. I think it’d be interesting to hear from Miles Turner what he considers to be a complaint that a righteous complaint in given his situation. It’s bizarre. And you know what? All good, right? And and then so he because I could go on about this, but I’m not going to brevity, right? I just counseledled brevity, so I’m going to practice some. But Miles Turner, here’s the thing with Miles Turner. He has no idea who he is publicly. And I knew this from the moment I talked to him first, and that was after the pre-draft workout in 2015, and following which he was drafted 15th. I wonder I I’m really interested because there’s another guy in that workout and it was Bobby Portoris. And I talked to Bobby Portoris, too. Bobby Portoris is about as real a human being as you’re ever going to meet in your life. raw, real to the point of being raw. Miles Turner full of crap. And I thought I’d go with that guy. I’d go with Portoris before I’d go with Turner because I full of crap doesn’t work for me. I I I wonder how those two cats are going to get along. I think it’s going to be fascinating because Portoris just signed an extension so it’s going to be he, Miles, Giannis. But then when he’s introduced as a member of the Bucks, he says, “Being part of winning basketball has changed my entire perspective on this league, and I saw a chance to remain competitive here.” You did with a franchise that was eliminated in the first round by the one for whom you played. That’s an interesting way to look at this, you know. Yeah. Tyrese Hallebertton. Tyrese got hurt, tore his Achilles, but there is a winning culture within the Indiana Pacers that doesn’t exist in Milwaukee. And to imply that it does is just ridiculous. And to imply that you’re going to be the missing piece that lifts that franchise. When Damen Lillard is done in Milwaukee, you’re gonna come in and all of a sudden the Bucks are going to be better than a first round eliminated team in the playoffs. That’s ridiculous. That doesn’t even make sense. That defies credul. And and that’s the problem with Miles Turner and guys like Miles Turner and I I would say that Paul George a little bit similar. Paul George is an extreme example. Miles Turner is not uh full of crap to the level of Paul George, but to say that you’re going to Milwaukee to win and that you’ve been assured by Doc Rivers and the GM that winning is the first priority. Just say what’s You know what? You don’t even have to say what’s true. You don’t have to say it’s about the money. You You can say other stuff without crapping on the Pacers. You can do that without crapping on the Pacers, without justification, without any evidence that the crapping on of the Pacers is accurate. Bizarre. Go Pacers says I think Miles is drafted 11th, not 15. He was drafted 11 in 15. That’s correct. If I said 15th and 11, that’d be odd. But uh yeah, he was drafted number 11 in 2015. That is absolutely correct. But you don’t have to go out the door, go to the new place, and think, “Well, I’m talking to a whole new audience.” Because you’re not. You’re talking more people in Indiana are interested in what Miles Turner has to say about Milwaukee than people in Milwaukee are about Miles Turner and what he has to say about Milwaukee. You don’t have to be full of crap. You can say, “Hey, I’m glad I’m here. I saw an opportunity to play with one of the top five players in the NBA and I took it. That’s okay. They don’t want you to say, “You know what? The Bucks offered me the amount of money that I wanted and so I walked out the door.” You don’t have to say that. They don’t want you to talk about the money. I get that. You don’t have to do it. but to then say that it’s about success and how you learned about the importance of success over the last two years in Indiana and now you’re going to bring that success from Indiana to Milwaukee. That’s just nonsensical that do at what level does my Turner really believe he was a part of the success of the Indiana Pacers the last two years? I would argue you could you could argue with a straight face that he was the fifth most important player on this team during the playoff run of the Pacers this past year. You could argue that. I would argue that he’s sixth and and you could even go deeper and maybe say seventh. I this I think the Pacers, let me get off Miles Turner for a minute and congratulate Kevin Pritchard because he was letter perfect in the way he talked about Miles Turner’s departure. He was gracious, never crapped on the guy and could have, you know, hey 10 and4 what we’re going to pay $47 million a year for 10 and four. I’m going to go to Herb Simon and I’m going to say, “Look, here’s the way we keep this thing moving in the right channel, winning waters. We’re going to pay Miles Turner $47 million.” Because if you’re going to pay him 26.75 million and you’re going to go to the luxury tax, you’re going to forfeit money that the luxury tax will pay a team that is under the luxury tax plus you’re going to forfeit the tax money plus the money that you pay Miles Turner. And so if that was 26.75 million, you add what would be uh paid by the Pacers into the salary tax or the luxury tax and the money that you’re not going to get for being compliant with that luxury tax threshold. And that goes to about $47 million. 47 million of your money, Herb is going to Herb S or to Miles Turner, who averaged 104 in the NBA finals and was had a couple of nice moments. had a really good final six minutes in game three of the finals and uh really early in in the playoffs had a couple of runs shooting a triple that were really really profoundly effective and helpful for for the Pacers. You going to pay $47 million for that? That’s crazy. He could have said all of that. What he said was, “You know what, Miles Turner was a big part of our success, blah blah blah blah blah blah blah.” And it was very gracious and and that was fine. He did say that he found out about but it’s true found out from Shams on Twitter just like we did that Miles had signed with or had agreed to sign with the box. He didn’t get butts sore about it and it because that’s not who Kevin Pritchard is. But it’s also true that it’s very likely that he wasn’t butts sore about it at all and feels pretty damn good about Miles Turner now being an issue with the Milwaukee Bucks and not with the Indiana Pacers. Give me Isaiah Jackson. Give me James Wiseman. Give me uh Jay Huff. And uh you know what? I go about my business and I go about my business very happily as a team that’s got a shot to grow in that position rather than see Miles Turner decline in that position which is what has happened over the last two years. I don’t understand how a guy like Miles Turner can walk out of town with $14 million or 140 million. I believe that’s right. Let me check that because I want to be accurate for me and for you. All right. So, we will check the career earnings for one Miles Turner and his career earnings. You know what? Shame on me. I looked up Miles Turner as a member of the Pacers on Spotrack. That is just not going to do. So, we will look and we will see. There’s Miles Turner. his career earnings 140,349,84 of Herb Simon’s money in his bank account minus taxes minus expenses. That’s a hell of a lot of money. And on your way out the door, you say, um, I saw a chance to remain competitive in Milwaukee and leave Indiana. Is is that really the way you want to leave the employee of a guy who just paid you 140,349,000? I include the $349,000. I talked about skyus earlier. He gets very upset when you don’t include all of that money cuz $349,000 is real money to you and me. To Miles, you know what? That’s Lego money, right? So Miles is gone. Miles is no longer my problem, your problem, anybody’s problem. And if you saw him as an asset within this Indiana Pacers family, I think you were barking up the wrong tree and you really didn’t understand exactly the kind of human being Miles Turner is. Not a bad human being. Not saying he’s bad. I’m just saying he doesn’t know who the hell he is or how to convey to people in a reasonable way who he is. I got no problem with Miles Turner as a human being. As a basketball player, it’d be nice if you moved your feet on defense once in a while. It’d be nice if you went and got positioned down on the block and scored the basketball rather than on the other end forfeiting position and giving up buckets on the other end. I mean, I I see Andre Drummond abusing Miles Turner in my sleep, and Miles Turner should, too. All right, have a great weekend. Have a lot of fun. Enjoy yourself. All miles turner talk. Vanquished. Myles Turner enjoys saying things without accountability! He is mostly tone deaf and awkward – and that did not change as he thanked Pacers fans and insulted the Pacers unnecessarily as he became a Buck.
Pacers became successful as they became real – and Myles Turner did not fit the discerning team of fan base.

  1. Turner's second paragraph about having to sacrifice for playing ball… these f'n people are all deeply delusional. If I had to think about what some of these guys think about themselves too much, I wouldn't pay attention to pro ball at all- they really don't deserve what they've got.

  4. Adios, Myles! GO PACERS GO! Stay Steichen Stay! Love Myles, and don't blame him for taking the money. Glad KP didn't sign him. With Wiseman, Jackson, Huff, and Bradley, they will be better in the aggregate and provide what this team needs more than Myles did.😢

  5. I would be on pacer side but they haven't gone into luxury tax in over 20 years, are you sure you(pacers) wanna win? Now you lose a guy that has been in every trade rumor involving the pacers. Now he wants close to 25 mill but since it goes into luxury tax you're too scared to pay it??? OKC gave Isaiah hartenstein close 28 million a year, Give me a break. OKC clearly wants to win they in one of smallest markets and one of "poorest" owners in the league. But they have been in luxury tax multiple years in 2018 they paid the highest luxury tax and only made it 1st round. scared money don't make money.

  6. Myles was real. I appreciate that about him. He is introverted. You dont have time to make Legos like that if you are a people person. Point is, he may not have been as close to his teammates as we might expect. So leaving for a better deal, over staying with this franchise, was an easier decision for him than it would be for others. Anyway, we dont have to trash players who decide to leave. We assume Haliburton is the next Reggie, that he'll be here forever. Many assumed the same of Myles. It's a business. Myles moved on and he gave the Pacers credit. I am going to do the same for him.

  7. Myles had options but he may have been underutilized in the finals and the bag came along simultaneously with the discontent . Myles had an opportunity to leave 2 years ago . He didnt . Dumping on his efforts and on seriously injured oladipo and george reveal your misunderstanding of the duration of an athletes career . Good luck to myles dont compare an athlete with an orange because your over invested in enterrtainment .

  8. Kent, you would be worthy of the investment for a quality ombudsman that Myles can afford. If he even knows the word. The totality of ombudsmen from around the world couldn't hold a candle to the level of wordsmithing and ombudsmanship you achieve. You, are awesome, keep up the great work. See ya Myles.   9. It's not just the money, there are all kinds of restrictions that come with it. One the other side of that this is likely Myles last big contract and it's one with a trade clause so he can be more sure of his future. Add the venom Indiana fans have spit on him and its a no brainer for him. I think it will work out for both sides down the road and I'm good with that. Kent seems to have something personal against Myles Turner. Myles isn't a bad person by any measure. It's just time to move on.

  11. Talking about Andrew Nembhard being the only person to like the picture, Bennedict Mathurin posted a picture of him dunking on Myles Turner to his instagram story. I also think all the victory lapping Myles did about being on the team for so long and how amazing the fans are when they were winning to talking about all the criticism he had to deal with and how hard playing for the Pacers was when he signs to the Bucks says a lot about him as a person.

  12. I had hoped he would give a kind farewell to the fans. This was not what I had in mind. Passive aggressive looks bad on anyone. Lots of members of his generation have a similar issue.
