Tidjane Salaun 20-Point Summer League Highlights vs. Jazz | July 11, 2025

lead the break, but Jaden Springer, who’s one of the veterans on this Utah summer league team, couldn’t finish. And Tan Salon, how much of what Clayton did down the stretch turned him into a first round pick versus how he had played up to played with a couple of NBA organizations already in his career. Five to shoot. Salon really nice move to get free guys average more than 20 points a game. We’ll see what happens at the center position and and one for one of the guys vying for it. They right does have a nose for the ball. Finds Salon who takes one hop and drops a triple. Really challenging McNeely defensively. Shot clock winding down. Oh what a hit by Tan Salon. throwing a lot of game. Uh, as the kids would say, he was in his bag. He was right there. Just a little ball fake to create a separate separation. Steps back, knocks down that three. He’s been in isolations. He’s been in postups. He’s been really good. He’s been working

Tidjane Salaun dropped 20 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 threes, including the dagger tonight in the Hornets’ win over the Utah Jazz!

  1. When he came into the league as the 2nd youngest player in the draft, it showed in his game.

Looked out of place, low Ball IQ (started basketball late), poor handles and moved a bit stiff as he ran in transition.

Fast forward today: Very improved ball reads and distribution. Movement from the half court is much more smoother. His handles are much better (not there yet, but way better now). Evolving new tricks (that finger roll for a two pointer). The game appears to have slowed down more now for him too.

His fellow draftee, KJ Simpson was lights out also. He only needs to put on some more weight. I noticed he gets easily bodied during ball contests. A potential 6th man of the year or most improved player nominee.

Barring injury, Liam Mckneely will be rookie of the year. You heard it here first.
    #Steal of the draft l.

  2. Tidjane knows the game. He's less hesitant putting the ball on the floor and he's reacting better to closeouts. His drives and finishing at the basket still needs work, but he's improving.
