El Omar Cook destaca debut de Norchad Omier con Cavaliers
Nicaragua Summer League. Mega YouTube summer league. Great game. Close game on the end. Your first comments about it. Uh first game uh thought it was a real competitive game on both sides. Both teams played hard. Um I think we had 37 fouls so fouled a lot but uh great great start. Uh we just didn’t finish well. Uh did you find the the goal that you have before the game with the all the rotation of the other players? Yeah. Um our our starting point guard went out so we had to adjust a little bit but um I thought all the guy other guys stepped up. Um, we had a chance. We was winning all game. We just lost it at the end. We What stood out to you about the way that Nick one played? Uh, he made the right play. I think he had one bad shot, the long three-pointer that I talked to him about, but uh, made the right play, was active, fouled a little too much, but other than that, uh, real aggressive. Uh, I love the way he played today. What are you hoping to see from Naquin throughout this summer league journey? Um, just continue to grow. Um, last year he was here. um was his first time and uh I think he’s after being in the G- League, being around us and with the Cavs, he’s improved a lot and he’s going to get better each game each day. With Craig going out early in the game, um seemed like a lot of the the playmaking responsibility shifted to Jaylen. How do you feel like he handled that increased role? He had like 13 assists. Um I think he shared the ball, made the right plays. Obviously Indiana is a team that pressures a lot. So, uh, we could have used another ball handle out there, but I think he did a pretty decent job of, you know, handling the pressure and making right plays. We just lost the game in the end. We are from Nicaragua. I’m I flew to Nicar from Nicarawa to here to watch Noradir. Your comments about his performance. He’s is the first Nicarawan ever to play any stuff about NBA, first NBA summer league. Your comments after his performance. Great guy. uh super energetic, plays hard, plays the right way. Um was big for us tonight. You know, he made a lot of big plays. Uh he’s going to get better each day, each game. And um as a team, I think it’ll help us as well. Is what you’re expecting about him and the defense and the offense about Nor? Yeah, he’s a he’s a small big, but he’s strong. He’s athletic. He re rebounds the ball well, and I think he did a great job at that. is the most impressive uh part of Norhat’s game performance since the beginning training in Cleveland to here. Yeah, just uh I had a talk with him early about being patient, just being more patient. Uh he’s a small big, so he’s like a hybrid big, so just trying to be more patient when he has the ball for those DHOs and things like that. But I think he did a great job today. You came out of one of those late timeouts and you put the ball in the hands of Tyrese and had him create. What was the thinking behind that? We wanted to attack stay away from their strong defenders. So we felt like, you know, Peters is probably the worst defender of their guys. So we just try to, you know, attack that match up. Thanks. About the technique of Norhat, what is the the best part of his technique and the court when he’s playing defense for for example? He’s just strong. He has a low base. Um he’s uh low to the ground. He’s strong. He uses legs a lot. Um, active hands and, uh, he’s aggressive. Gracias Nicaragua.
