Jaden Ivey As A Lead Ball-Handler!

Jaden Ivey As A Lead Ball-Handler!

right here. He’s going to run a pick and roll with Isaiah Stewart. When you’re running a high pick and roll as a lead ball handler, the first thing that I go to if you you have to be able to make this read if you’re going to run pick and rolls and be the lead ball handler on the floor. Anytime there’s a roll, man, usually weak side is tagging down. If it doesn’t tag, if if the weak side defender does not tag down, you should have a lob or you should be able to get to the floater range and get your own bucket. You’re reading this weak side defender. You see it tagged down, that means you have you should have the corner skip pass. And what does Ivy do? This is probably the best pass of his season. He sees it immediately with a left hand live dribble off his left hand off a live dribble. Throws a skip pass to Tobias Harris over here. Fantastic read. That right there shows you and gives you belief it’s in there. He can do it. That’s an incredible read. He doesn’t get too far into the paint. He doesn’t dribble himself into into trouble. He knows it way beyond I I forget. I don’t know who what defender this is, but it’s the weak side guy. He sees him in the paint before he even gets to the high post area. There’s no need to dribble any further. He sees the read, makes it quickly, processes it, and he makes the read to Tobias here. This is the best pass I think of his of his season. Here’s another one. He comes off another screen and roll with Isaiah Stewart. I love this one because of this right here. When he comes off this screen, he doesn’t rush. He gets Kobe White in jail and he slows down. That’s another thing that Jane Ivy just has to do when he gets in between the three-point line and the rim. Just slow down. Everything doesn’t have to be 100 speed. Slow down, get control of the ball handle, know where your defender is, read the defense, probe a little bit in the in between area, and then make your decision. He does a great job of that here. He slows down, puts Kobe White in jail, does a little snake dribble here, dribbles back to his right, goes to a Euro step, realizes he’s not going to have a look here. V and Kobe White are here. But guess what? Zack Lavine, he sees him ball watching. He steps to the left, gets K cut Ctingham a wide open quarter three. All of that is is created by Jane Ivy just taking his time, getting his defender locked in jail, probing a little bit, getting to a spot, and then making a read. And another part of this that’s really good, you’ll see the shot clock at the bottom rest six seconds at 5 seconds. Usually players start start freaking out a little bit, start trying to speed things up. No, he stayed under control again. puts Kobe in jail. Snakes back to his right. Euro steps around Kobe. Notices the weak side defender is looking at him. Tagged down off of Cade. Makes this read. K gets an open
