The 2018 Houston Rockets. No super team, no shortcuts, just pure firepower in the regular season, number one in the league. A record of 65 and 17. First in offense, net rating, and second in points per game. But not only that, they’re first in three-pointers made as well. I thought it was going to be made hard. Oh, he stared at Wesley Johnson and then he hits a three. But not only can they destroy teams by shooting threes, but they can also get it done on the defensive end as well as they were the sixth best team on defense that season. Their roster led by their MVP and scoring leader James Harden. The point guard in Chris Paul, a lob threat and defensive anchor in Clint Capella. 3 and D guys like Trevor Arza, PJ Tucker, and Luke Emba Amu, a sixth man in Eric Gordon, a sharpshooter in Ryan Anderson, and a shooter and dunker in Gerald Green. But as good as the Rockets are, there’s only one team stopping them, the Warriors. But before we head there, here’s the Rockets wreaking havoc in the regular season. Harden shake and bake steps back. Three-pointer. Oh, no he did. What up? No, he didn’t. Anderson gets to the rim and good NBA body. Oh, Black with a pick. Nice pass to T. Then came the playoffs. Round one, they breeze past the Wolves. Harden 44 points in game one. Game four dropped a playoff record 50 points in the third quarter. Rockets went four to one. Round two against the Jazz. Harden and CP3 took turns torching defenders. Chris Paul closed it out with a vintage 41 points in game five. Rockets moved on. And now onto the Western Conference Finals. And it’s a bloodbath. Warriors stole game one. Games two and three, both were blowouts. But in games four and five, it was down to the wire. Game four, Harden threw it down. Hard with a drive. Rockets win with Harden and Paul combined for 57. Then in game five, Chris Paul gave Steph a taste of his own medicine. That’s the force one at 59. But soon after that, CP3 suffered a hamstring injury. But regardless, Houston still got the win. Then came game six where the Rockets got demolished, lost by 29. And finally in game seven, the Rockets finally made history by beating themselves as they missed 27 threes, a playoff record. This is the 2018 Houston Rockets. They live by the three, but in the end they died by it,

  1. They shouldn't have shot so many threes, to think the rockets were so close to beating the death lineup and winning the finals…

  2. Rockets were robbed… go back and watch that game… i saw 9 straight missed calls and there were 2 or 3 straight Harden 3's in which he he was fouled and 2 of them went in but the called it ball on the floor no basket… but nobody cares because 97% of people were rooting for the Warriors… I remember this game and hate when people try to rewrite history…

  3. No super teams? No short cuts? Uhhh CP3 was a shortcut and brining him to combine two ALL NBA players is what makes a super team. Also Harden did NOT score 50 points in the 3rd quarter man 😂. The most points in a single qrt in playoff history is sleepy Floyd with 29.

  4. Even missing all those 3s in game 7, they still only list by like 12 points or something like that…if they would have just shot 10 less threes and start driving to the basket or get couple of free throws….🙄

  5. I am so sick of the 27 missed 3s narrative. If anybody watched the game, Harden made two 3s that were taken away. Refs said it was after the play which they were not. The refs were awful throughout this game. You can't win when you are playing 5 on 8
