Deandre Ayton received text from Luka, not LeBron, does Beal make Clippers a threat, Booker | SPEAK

Are the Lakers officially Lucas team now? Yeah, but it’s kind of pissing me off, bro. Like LeBron, like just text him, “What’s up? Welcome to the team. Look forward to playing with you.” You can’t. That’s the least you can do. That’s what leadership does. I don’t want to hear, “Oh, I don’t text nobody when they come to the team.” Cuz I’m sure that’s not true. I’m sure you text other guys. Just text a man. Make him feel comfortable. Like when you’re a new player going to a new team, it’s always a bit of uneasiness. You know each other from playing against each other, but it’s a it’s you’re uneasy. You’re uncomfortable when you have to go into the locker room, especially when the best players haven’t sent you a message just saying, “Hey, welcome to the team. I app you know, we going to look forward to a great season.” So, I know Aiden is probably like, “Damn, LeBron, I wonder LeBron to play with me.” He’s he’s uncomfortable with that. So, I don’t like the fact that LeBron has a texting. knowing that you going to rely on him a lot. So, for Luca to send that text message and welcome you to the team, yeah, they know they known each other, same draft class, yes, it has to be Luca’s team now, but LeBron, you got to do better, my boy. All right, this is what I got to say. TJ, when you got to the Bengals, who text you? Nobody text me. There we go. Nobody hold No, no, no, no. But when I went out when I left as a free agent and I went to the Seattle Seahawks, Loa Tupu text me. Matt Hasselback text me. Deion Branch text me. Okay. They did text me. When I went to the Bengals, I mean, they ain’t even know if I was going to make the team. So why they going to text me? Did you get a text when you got drafted or as a free agent going to Tampa Bay or what? Yeah, I Yeah, I got all the textes and Yeah. Yeah, I did. And from who? when I got drafted. AG like the leaders of the team, right? Uh just a I’m trying to think. I talked to AG when I got drafted with the Jets. Jeff Graham when I was with the Jets. Uh it wasn’t text. It was a phone call. But from the leaders, uh I guess you could say they was the leaders. When I got to Tampa, so when I got to Tampa via trade, listen, man, every whether it was Brooks, whether it was Brian Kelly, all you know, I knew a lot of them by then. Listen, let me tell you. LeBron is probably gonna retire after this year, right? Okay. His whole career, he’s been doing this. He been texting. Texting. He t he’s on. He tired of this. I remember my last year in the league, man. Just with the meetings, just the the the uh you know, you have the NFL PA meetings. Do y’all have that with like Yeah. Yeah. I done been to so many meetings. My last year, I was like, y’all just I simp I’ll pay for the fine, whatever it is. I’m not coming to this meeting no more. Okay. So, the same thing I’ I’ve been texting. It’s time for him. He He probably We don’t even know if he said Luke if LeBron call Luca said, “Hey, it’s your job to do that now.” You know what I’m saying? He’s relinquishing the keys to to Luca. Like, man, he probably out on his with his family vacation. And you know, I know he probably I know he probably look up to DeAndre Aiden probably looks up to Brian like that because of his stature, the player that he is. I get it. I get it. But like, come on, man. This is This is This shouldn’t be something that breaks up a team or make it look like there’s troubles in paradise. He’ll get around to it. They just he’ll get around to it. It’s that’s not his priority. That’s not his priority no more. Evidently, that’s not his priority. No, but you just got to you got to you have a Or maybe he don’t think that this is a piece that’s going to really really help us. That’s the key. No, but because if it was Jiannis coming over, but it could be out to dinner tonight or two. Yeah. No, but but in the end, it could be that Luca and DeAndre Aiden are closer in age and things of that nature, same draft class, that there’s a there’s a different relationship there than it is with LeBron. And you know, you don’t necessarily meet. What if LeBron was flying in somewhere doing something? He’ll get around. I’m sure he’ll get around to it. You ain’t flying for three straight days. Yeah, but he’ll get around to it. I’m Isn’t Isn’t that Isn’t that somewhat of a requirement when No, you are one of the leaders and best players on the team. I’m going to get to you. So, you treat me like I’m a female or something. Y back in a little bit. know if if you ain’t a player that I feel like that could get us over the hump. If you ain’t that player that I feel like you could get us over the hump, what we need to talk for? But if you if you came to a team that I was on, I’m probably going to reach out to you cuz I know you. But if you was something someone that I didn’t necessarily know, at some point in time, if the coaches come up to me and say, “Can you talk to TJ? Could you talk to Paul?” You know, I’m going to see him on training camp. We’re going to be together in the next eight months. That’s why I’m not stressing about it. I hope his feelings ain’t hurt and his like see this is how the media try to break things down. This is the thing though. No, seriously. Why would he say that? No. No. The reporter asked him has you have you talked to LeBron? He all he could have said was no. Yeah. Even if he said no, it’s going to turn it was going to morph into this. If he said no, there still was going to be he’ll talk to you when he talked to you, man. Come on. I need to know you. You need to worry about DeAndre Aiden want to talk to him. He would have just gonna talk about welcome to the team. Thank you. You’re already welcome to the team. Look, you had a press conference. They gonna see him, man. Stay make the Clippers a real threat in the West. If Bradley Bill go to the Clippers, I tr truly genuinely believe it makes them the second favorite team in the Western Conference behind OKC. They just lost Norman Pal, right? So now you get a guy and a veteran in Bradley Bill who could come in and replace that production. You got Kawawaii, a healthy Kawawaii. You got James Hart. You got Dun uh at your perimeter to go along with the big fella. Uh they just signed. Wait, wait, wait, wait. Who did they just put in the uh who did the Clippers just pick up? They lost uh they picked up uh John Collins. John Collins. That’s right. That’s what I’m talking. the big fella John Thomas from Utah which is a great pickup made him younger more athletic. The Clippers have one of the deepest teams in the league if they were to get Brady Bill and don’t sleep on them possibly getting Chris Paul too. I would love to see him back in LA uh where he had a tremendous career. A lot of all star a lot of all NBA games played in a Clipper uniform. This will arguably make the Clippers ma maybe the favorite you had. Wow. Like no, seriously this I mean even last year they were really good. They took it to seventh with uh oh gosh everything is Denver. They went seven games and it took a meltdown from Harden and Kawad. That’s not going to keep happening if you got Bradley Bill out there to help up with the slack. I’m telling you that’ll be one of the most dangerous teams in the Clippers. Did we see enough though from Bradley Bill over the last four years? It was a bad mix in Phoenix. It was last for last four years. It was good enough. Last four years. I didn’t say in Phoenix. Well, he thrived in a in a Washington in a in a culture that wasn’t He’s been not in a great culture, guys. It It’s a matter It’s a difference when you get in a great culture. Oh, I understand. You know, you got coach Tailoo, you got Kawawaii. This is a great culture they have here. You got Balmer, you got a new arena. This is going to make the Clippers, I’m telling you, people are going to be on notice for them. And this is gonna make the not that the West isn’t already deep, but it’s gonna separate the Clippers from like the Denvers and Minnesota and and the Houston and it put me a tier right above all he was an allar back in 2021. He was an all-star, right? And his his production slid down to the point where even in Phoenix he was at 18.2 to 17.0. Do I think he he’s still production? He’s still great. He can shoot. But they got two scores already. He He’s a knockdown shooter though. They may have the worst back court defensively passing. No, no, they don’t. No, they don’t. They got uh Chris Dunn back there, one of the best defenders in the NBA. We’re talking if Harden and Bill is off. No, no, we they bringing Bill off the bench. He’ll be a spark off the bench. Are you sure you can bring Bill off the bench now? But what if they don’t though? Because you need that defensive presence and done who’ve had a fantastic year for the Clippers. And I like Paul because Dunn will have to guard the one most of the time nights because Harden is not great guard. You can speak to this because this is your expertise. When you’ve been that dude and Bill can still score the back. He going to be he going to willingly come off the bench. If you going to willingly come off the bench, you might as well go to a better team, man. He going to wake up, look at them checks. He going to look over to his left and see them beautiful kids he got over there living in Los Angeles. sunshines every day. He’ll be all right. He He’s had a great career. So, you’ll swallow your pride at his age and say, “Okay, I can go come off the bench now.” I I think he had to do that in Phoenix and it prepped him. And so, mentally, when it first happens, mentally you not there as when you’ve been a starter your whole career because it messed me up when I first came off the bench in Brooklyn. It messed me up. Why you looking at me? I ain’t say nothing. He going to look at he going to look at me. Where he going mess me up and they going to look over at me though. I was like, “Hold on, what’s going on?” You know, no, he took he cover the I was like, “Hold on, what’s going on?” And then you cuz then you start looking like, “Who starting in front of me?” You start like, “I’m better than him. What you What we all looking at?” You know, I ain’t never been benched in my career. No, but then he had to come back. He had to circle back and be like, “My bad, Pete.” You know what? And then we started winning. And so, you know, sticking with the can he live up to that contract? Yeah. What year can he live up to it? He already did. Keith, this is my thing, too. You’ve been in the league. I don’t know how long Deon been in the league. I think it’s been he was in the league when I was still in the league for the Clippers. So, well, he he came in 2015. Yeah. So, this is 10th year going to his 11th year, right? You know, he been to one finals. He’s been to multiple All-Star games. He’s been one of the best two guards for a lot of years now. Can he live up to it? He already lived up to it based on the things that I said. But look at it. Listen to this. If you have an opportunity to say, “Hey, I got a chance to go play for a ring or make 75 million a year and stay here and lose.” What you taking, man? What? I need the ring. You need that ring cuz I’mma get 300 anyway. No, no, no. You going to go over here and sign for 10 mil or get 75 mil. 10 mil. Go over here for 10 mil for a chance at a ring or 75 mil and no shot. 11 years in. Yeah, you 11 years. I already got a couple $300 million deals. I made a $6 million difference. 75 million a year or 10 million with a chance at a ring. A chance or no chance at 75. But Paul, they’re not paying you. They’re not paying you 10. I mean, paying you 75. I’m asking you a hypothetical question. I’mma take the 75. There we go then. 75 mil all day. And you don’t care about the ring, right? Well, I can chase it in year 16. You could go after it later. Yeah, I can go after it later cuz it’s too much of a It’s too much of a swing. Too much of a swing. Yeah. It’s not It’s not a five and a four. It’s a a 65. 10 million with a chance at a ring or 75. T Oh, I’m taking a 75 all day. You didn’t even think about that. See, you was over here lolly gagging. No, because I’m trying to process the stupidity that you’re putting out there. No, but I’m sure Booker could have been like up here. This is probably something that went through his mind like we not going to win here. No, but you keep saying but you keep saying 75. It’s not 75. It’s 72 and 12. 72 times two. Yeah. Plus the other monies which is 300 and something total over the next 5 years. This was something like So I So then when I get to the fourth year of the 5year deal and I hadn’t won a championship, you can move me now. I I’ll get one eventually somewhere. I’m just going to pull a bounce around like he it’s hard to live up to these expectations of this extension, but as long as he continues to produce at the level he’s been producing at, you lived up to it. Yeah, for sure. So, they not paying him to live up. They paying him to deliver. Deliver what? In a Phoenix uniform. When you look at the Western Conference, this is not a championship team. And they know that. And they know it. They trying to build for the next five years and they want to lock him up with the hopes that hey maybe we can get some pieces around him because he is not winning a championship in the way constructed right now. You’re probably right. He’s probably not going to win. Not but not the way they constructed now. They didn’t went into a whole rebuild mode. They got a draft pick. You got Jaylen Green. He’s the oldest one of the oldest on the team. Like but me signing for that 75 if I can deal with all that rebuild. those young guys develop in three years, they have a chance. If those young guys that they’ve drafted develop and Jaylen Green takes that jump, they they have a chance, man. They, you know, so so Booker finished in the top five MVP voting back in 2021. He was fourth. Career earnings through 2930, right, through the season. So his career earnings, he’ll be in third position at five once he completes his deal, 520.28. 28 million. He can just give us a 28 and we keep pushing, right? Yeah. 28. Think about that. Look at that list, man. Yeah. Got LeBron James at 581, Steph at 532, Book at 520. Damn. Paul George at 516. Yeah. AD at 511. This is all when their contracts is up by the time 29 30 season is up. So, in four years, he’ll be 34 and he’ll sign another two or three years. Yeah, that’s what I see. So, he’ll be he gonna make about 800 million. Yeah. In NBA earnings, not including his shoe deal and and all the other stuff. He’ll be making a billion dollars. Y’all better get in that gym and practice a jump shot, man. This is the look and TJ, this is the problem with AAOU basketball in parents thinking everybody’s going to become Deer, man. They just sent the requirements to this tournament. we playing in. They said you can be 13 playing in the fifth grade level, 12 playing in the fourth grade level. I’m 12 years old in the fourth grade. I’m like, really? Wow. Yep. Crazy out there in these [Music] Hey, [Music] hey, hey. [Music]

  1. Bro Lebron can't catch a break. Now we talking about the nuances of " why did't he text" for 15 minutes its soooo petty at this point soo petty.

  2. If Ayton pans out LeBron will come yrs ltr and say something like “ I had be cold to em jus give em that competitive edge” something like that 😂😂

  3. LeBron is too much of a diva. The Lakers will be a much better team once he is gone. His salary handcuffs the team. His son also takes up a slot on the team. His son is really not that good of a basketball player. it's just time for a change. Is not good for the culture of a team

  4. I tried watching but Paul Pierce would not shut up! Nobody likes to be around a loud mouth who makes excuses for other grown men

  5. The fact the none of them want to mention Luka an aton signed under the same agency 😂 but Klutch stayed in they mouth 😂

  6. LeBron ain’t text him cause he ain’t trying be there it’s obvious he’s trying play wit Irvin or curry 😂😂😂😂

  7. I’m crying bro started the segment with “it’s pissing me off” about a grown man not sending a text 😂😂😂😂

Man they’re gona see each other soon lmao

  8. Just another reason why he’s not the goat and no one thinks he’s the king of the league. The lack of leadership is tangible through and through
