Adam Silver had Cooper flags first game against the Lakers simply for attention and ticket sales because the real competition came in the second game against the Spurs. I mean, not only did Cooper perform way better in this one, putting up 31 points, four rebounds, and one assists on 10 for 21 shooting, he was also the only offense for the Mavericks, which it’s honestly impressive he even scored that many points cuz this San Antonio defense is going to give me nightmares for years. Mainly because of Carter Bryant. I know we all overreact to certain players in the summer league, but just watch these highlights. Nobody is getting past this dude. Even when you do get a shot up, you better pray to God he doesn’t fly in and magically block the out of it. Thankfully for Dallas, he couldn’t do offensively. There’s also Dylan Harper, who played his debut game today, knocking down 16 points on 5 for12 shooting, which is honestly really solid considering he was on a minutes restriction. And of course, David Jones also put up 21 points. I’m telling y’all, this first team isn’t only winning a summer league ring, but also an NBA championship.
