Dennis Schroder Sign-and-Trade Saga Even Worth It For The Detroit Pistons?

This is the part I I want I don’t know if this is even worth it to be honest. I like this whole ordeal, this whole, you know, waiting on Shruder and and the signing trade, all this stuff. I don’t think this is even worth it for the Detroit Pistons because the very likely a very likely scenario is the Pistons take back a $14 million trade exception, which you say that immediately and you think to yourself, okay, well that’s, you know, that’s not nothing. That that’s you can use a trade exception. Except teams don’t really use the trade exception, especially the Pistons. The Pistons have created 17 trade exceptions the last 10 years. They’ve only used two. And it’s not just the Pistons. These things don’t ever really get used. The Raptors created 16, they only used three. The Bucks created 17, they only used two. The Sixers created 17, they only used two. The Warriors created 21, they only used one. The best you can find is the Celtics, who created 24 and they’ve only used six. And if you want to talk about trade exceptions, that would be at least the amount that the Pistons are going to get, which is around 14 million. 1. I agree 💯. Did this saga also take our eye off the ball for going strong for a back-up pg or sign Schroeder and going strong for a stronger 4 (starting and back-up)? We currently did none of that. Instead, we didn’t pivot fast enough after Beasley. And we’re in this saga with the kings…still…and that sucks.

  2. Bottom line is since he only had a one-year deal he was going to be gone anyway and at least we got something small for him. It's unfortunate that we lost a very good player for nothing but nothing that we can do.

  3. It's just a boring result. We just sat back and watched all the good players get taken. We can't ever have anything 🙄👎🏾

  4. It's bigger than today tbh you not the GM so you not thinking about keeping the team together the core three of which gotta get paid next year they not taking on more salary because then you gonna be crying why ausar or Duren got traded just cause we couldn't pay them enough when we go to sign them. I doubt we resign Tobias to anything more than small team friendly deal if at all due to the future of the team.
