New Orleans Pelicans first round pick Jeremiah Fears will be running the point in NBA Summer League

New Orleans Pelicans summer league opener is Thursday afternoon and you’ll see a heavy dose of rookie Jeremiah Fears. The seventh overall pick in the NBA draft is primed to turn heads in Las Vegas. This time a year ago, Jeremiah Fears was graduating from high school. Now the point guard is an NBA player. It’s something that you you dream of doing. I watched it all throughout my middle school and I went every year throughout my middle school and my freshman year high school. So, um, I kind of got to see it up close, see it in person, see what it was like, and now I’m about to be on the stage and I’m about to be playing. Fears will run the show for the Pelicans in Las Vegas. He’s optimistic the Pels can go far in the summer league tournament. We going to come out and set a statement. Um, show everybody what what New Orleans Pelicans can bring. So, every time we step on the court, we going to go out there, go hard, we going to play together, and we going to rack up some doubs. Fears will lean on another rookie to light up the scoreboard. Fellow first round pick Derek Queen. super skilled, extremely skilled. Um, high IQ, can really do almost everything you need him to do, and he’s somebody that’s we going to need in these next couple games. So, we expect them to show it big time, and I’m going to continue to keep talking to him and pushing him and motivating him. Fears grew up in Illinois, so being in New Orleans, yeah, it’s quite different. It’s crazy. Uh, food is food is really good out here. Very nice, very nice city. Um, and I’m just enjoying the overall experience. You gotten used to the heat? Not yet. Um, not yet for sure. I’m trying to stay in the AC. I don’t want to get too dark. So, I mean, it’s it’s dope though. And Fears is becoming adventurous when it comes to his food choices. Oysters. Oyers for sure. It was It was one of those things that I never had before. And I came down here and my first day down here, uh, they made me try it. It It wasn’t It wasn’t as bad as I thought. And the Pelg Summer League games are almost here. All four of the summer league contests will air on GF Coast Sports and Entertainment Network. It begins this Thursday against the Timberwolves.
