So, could the Utah Jazz be trading away Lori Markin to the Washington Wizards this 2025 NBA offseason? Well, here on the screen is a trade proposal or a trade idea from fadeawayorld.net. But this trade would see the Washington Wizards receiving Lori Markin and the Utah Jazz receiving Marcus Smart, Cory Kisspert, a 2026 firstround draft pick from Phoenix, a 2027 first round pick, and a 2029 second round draft pick. So, I actually kind of do respect this trade proposal uh from the Wizards perspective. So, if the Wizards want to go ahead and trade away some of their older assets, so they of course have players like Marcus Smart, uh they have Chris Middleton, they also have recently acquired CJ McCollum. If they want to flip those guys and get younger players, players that make them a little bit better later on, I think going after Lori Markin does make quite a bit of sense in my personal opinion. Now, in this scenario, the asking price of course would be pretty high in regards to future draft capital. So, I would be a little bit concerned if I’m watching giving up on these on these potentially high draft picks, these lottery picks uh for a team that probably isn’t a Lori Markin and trade away from making the playoffs next year. But, I sort of like what Washington’s building this offseason. They took sort of some gamles on players like Cam Whitmore uh for example, uh if they were to add Lori Markin to the mix as well. All of a sudden, this team in Washington has a pretty decent young core uh that can kind of grow together, potentially make the playoffs next year potentially in a pretty wide open Eastern Conference. So, I kind of respect it from a basketball perspective as well as it shows to the fan base that they want to go ahead take the next step as a franchise and get back to the playoffs. Now, from the Utah Jazz’s perspective, I like this trade quite a bit. Getting players like Marcus Mark, Cory Kissert is obviously not going to change them by any stretch in regards to making this team a playoff team. Uh, but getting back the 2026 first round draft pick from Phoenix, that could be a potentially a really good pick in the lottery next year. Uh, a 27 first round draft pick from the Wizards, that could very well be a lottery pick as well. than a second round draft pick from Houston. I love this like in regards to a team that’s pretty young, rebuilding, etc. Adding some more valuable trade assets potentially in the form of those draft picks is a pretty good move. Plus, Marcus SM can come to this Utah team, be a good veteran, and sort of be a good mentor for the younger players like an ace Bailey, for example, in regards to how to make it in the NBA. So, in my personal opinion, if I had to pick a winner for this deal, I’m going to go with the Utah Jazz. But honestly, from the Wizards perspective, not a terrible idea.
