Third in the West. Just the 17th best team on offense, but first on defense and fifth in net rating. And their roster, their head coach and Steve Kerr, their big three of Steph, Clay, and Draymond. Andrew Wiggins who had an all-star year, a young but exciting talent in Jordan Pool, a glass cleaner in Looney, and their bench, a sharpshooter in Otta Porter Jr., a defensive menace in Gary Payton II, a stretch big in Bayito, and their long vet in Iguadala. Some notable names who were part of the team as well includes Jonathan Kaminga, Moses Moody, Quantisano Anderson, Damen Lee, and Chris Chioza. Then came the playoffs. Round one versus the Nuggets. Game one, it was a pool party. Pool the Euro counted. Pool dropped 30 to get the dub. Game two, it was Steph’s turn. Scored eight of those in this third quarter. Curry foul and it goes and a chance at four. Dropped 34 off the bench along with Pool’s 29. The Warriors were too much for Denver. They end it in five. Round two versus the Grizzlies, the team that sent them home in the play in last year. Game one down by two in the fourth. Clay was right on queue. Thompson fakes, fires three-pointer. Instead, he had this to say after the game, fellas. Come on. Come on. And in game two, field goal, Wiggins. Wiggins set the tone, but John Morant responded with 47 of his own and takes game two. The Warriors would win the next two games. Memphis takes game five, but in game six, Clay dropped 30 to advance. Western Conference finals verse the Mavs. The Warriors win three straight with an exclamation dunk from Wiggins in game three. Goes by drops the switch. Warriors win in five. Then came the finals versus Boston. Game one, Celtics stole one on the road. Game two, 20point lead in the third. Pool adds salt to the wound. launches. Oh, Warriors take game two. Game three, Boston takes it despite Curry’s 31. Then came game four. Curry puts the team on his back. Curry step back three-pointer. Bang. Dropped 43 points to tie the series. Then in game five, Wiggins 26 points and 13 boards was enough to take the win. Warriors up 3-2. Then in game six, Curry puts Boston to sleep, drop 34. Warriors win their fourth title in eight years.
