Atlanta Hawks vs Phoenix Suns Full Game Highlights – July 13, 2025 | NBA Summer League

It’s a little bit early out here, but the crowd is definitely here. There is a little bit of energy and buzz in the building, and that’s what summer league is about now. Summer League has really grown a lot, and these young men get a chance to really grow their game and develop right in front of our eyes, and a big time fan base is watching from an early on, from an early standpoint. And it’s Yuri Collins taking the first shot of the game. And it’s good. And that always feels good when you come out there and you execute that first play to start the game from Stevens. Collins taking another shot. The mid-range is alive. Yes, indeed. He did his work right there. Great individual. Jurgic coming off the screen. Nails his first shot. Early on this game, the execution has been very high on both for both these teams. A lot of times this summer league gets a little bit choppy at the start, sometimes a little bit of a rock fight, but both these teams have done a great job of getting buckets as the offense continues to flow. That’s the type of shots that he takes. Iguodaro second among rookies in field goal percentage this year with shooting 65% from the floor. And Stevens continues the hot shooting for both teams. Nails it from long range. Battle. No one there. The easy scoop and score to the break. Collins has shown a propensity for that mid-range. The scouting report on Brea. Don’t let him shoot. Gets it off. Bucket. He’s going to hit those. Stevens having a good first quarter. Finds Buffkin to top it in the corner and we’re tied at 12. What a lot of the ball sticking in one area. The ball’s moving from side to side on both ends of the court and everybody’s basically playing basketball the right way and it’s Tophin’s second chance opportunity paying off a seven. Buffkin working it around to quick to let it fly. That’s big motion in that release and knocked it down. 10 nothing run from the Hawks looking to continue. Spread their wings on a fast break. Buffett. Hey, come on young fella. You got to got to give that thing up on the fast break. Now I know Buffy, I know you’re known for scoring as we see Ellis knocks down the triple, but that’s generally what happened. Stopped a 10 nothing run at turnover and three. And another turnover. Sun’s looking to capitalize. It’s Angel taking flight. Nice feed inside. Urchic gets it to drop. Another clean rebound by Joseph. The spin. That’s the connect. That is nice. Professional move by Murray. Some issues getting the ball in bounds for the Hawks. Yet another three for Atlanta. They Wood lost his footing. Oh, what we got here? And the hustle pays off for Johnson. Nice pass to Joseph. I tell you what, Atlanta right now is putting on a weather. You’re one-on-one. Go up, look at the basket and see if you can finish it. Knock that one down. D crashing the glass again coming up with another one. Wood and that stops the run. The Hawks, they get the ball in bounds. Geric creates some space on the baseline. Nice close out by Igodaro. Forces the turnover also on the fast break. Business decision by the reason for it is because he takes a lot of high quality shots like that. Back door cut. Johnson paying off. Big 10 for three consecutive years. Listen, in this league, if you can defend and knock down shots, there will be a place and at home for you. If you see a break to the basket, see if you can get a layup, some free throws, anything to ignite your offense because guys like him, once they score once or twice, then it starts to really start. Vision goes down. Where are you shades as Joseph scores inside the pass room? Trying to figure out what the bucks are going to look like, what the Pacers are going to look like without new knocks down the jumper. something that he can take advantage of. All those teams right now trying to reshuffle today. Wood gets his own rebound. Igodaro up again and Igodaro having himself a good second quarter. That time he didn’t rush the floater. He took his time, knocked it down. He’s wide open in that mid-range area. So, just take your time. You’re going to be able to finish a lot easier. Joseph gets his own rebound, finds Bucking Bucket, his first made shot. Brea calling for the screen from Igodaro. Going baseline. Another bucket. Brea the bright spot on this offense so far. Three for three. Working on Newell. Create space. Bottoms. What a bucket by Brea. Can’t connect. Newell. Buffkin. White. Two for one special. There it is. White missed the first one. step right in and knock down the second one. Where’d he go to college? Durham Tech. I like that one. Gadar, nice dime on the baseline. Zachary Rear number one overall pick in the draft of previous years. Jerzich shows off the handles, finds Asa Newell. And that’s what I’m talking about right there. That’s what you do right there. Great unselfish play. Drop it off for your big fella. Let a gig as we see the other big fella Stevens. Topping calling for the pick. Shot clock went down. Toin’s got to go. Gets it back. Give and go. Flo. New handling it in transition. Working on Wood. The spin up and in. Hey, who said the big fell can’t create his own offense right there? That’s the last time he played shoulder injury. So, it’s good to see him on the floor as Jerich hits that jump. Um, they traded for Dyson Daniels last year. So, you look at all these pieces and they all fit. Um, bringing in uh Oh, watch out. Oso with the bear kind of throw down. Wow. Collins taking it himself. Leaves it for Brea the three. Good money. He gets a good look at it. He is not missing anything at all. Top it looking for the answer. Second chance provided by Stevens. Flaggler nails it with the response. Igodaro board number seven. Attack Steven’s feet right here. D. He did. Stevens on the perimeter has no answers for Igodaro. You just can’t figure it out. But a guy like Buffkin because he’s a scorer and scoring is his forte. As we see Collins knock down the mid-range jumper. Yes, the Suns have stepped it up defensively. Igodaro has been huge during this run as he continues to make plays. The nice drive from the perimeter. Back door cut by Johnson and that stops the run. Hawks increase their lead. Collins driving. The verticality pays off for the Hawks. Jurgic pays off on the other end. Schumacher with the spin, the drive, nothing doing. Scheacher gets it back. Final seconds of the third. Scheacher from the corner at the buzz away. Bottoms. Only scored 36 points in the first half. Had 30 there in the third quarter. Turnover by Ellis. Church to the hole and one with the finger roll. Six points in just two minutes. Shoe marker was huge and what he was able to do was not easy. I mean, you’re see as we see Will knock down the jumper. As Newell checks back into the game and checks in from long range. I tell you what, if he can knock that shot down consistently, he will find his way to his Atlanta Hawks rotation. Schumacher finding his stroke. He’s got eight points. Shorts. Jitch with his eyes up. That’s what Huntley does. The nice pass to Murray was looking for him the entire time. Johnson the pass to Igodaro. Intercepted. Oh wow. Iguod Iguodaro missed them. He ends up getting a dump, but Iguodaro missed. Wood. Two guys that they were on the floor. You think this result would likely be different as Topin muscles his way inside for an easy welcome. Yeah, Ellis just his second made shot. Buffkin finally starting to find his rhythm. Buffkin in the corner. Newell. Oh, he’s been redhot from long distance. Had a barrage. Scored 30 points and made it a six-point game. But the Hawks once again took control and they win 98- 80. Your final score.
