So considering they just signed Yaka Purdle to a contract extension not too long ago, I don’t really see a world where they’re going to go ahead and flip him this early on into that deal, plus giving up draft capital in the future for a team in Toronto that I think personally speaking may be in the lottery at that point. Just sort of how this team is built, the injury concerns, the payroll, and how this team stacks up in the Eastern Conference. So I think swinging the for the fence here and getting Damon Sabonis is not a terrible idea. like if you want to get back to the playoffs next year having a big three of Deanna Sabonis Brandon Ingram if he’s healthy as well as Scotty Barnes that probably gets them there. But in regards to building a championship roster I don’t think Sabonis makes the most sense here especially too if they’re giving up on RJ Barrett who’s a good young scoreer 20 point per game guy. Yaka Purle who’s a very solid center for them as well plus a first round draft pick that is just a little bit too rich for my liking in my personal opinion if I was the management group for the Raptors. Sabonos is a really good player, double double machine, don’t get me wrong, of giving up on RJ Barrett, Yaka Purle, and a first round draft pick a couple years down the road. Probably not something that I would do personally speaking at the end of the day, but from the Kings perspective, I love this trade. Uh they get a little bit younger with RJ Barretts, who the Raptors don’t want to get they want to get rid of this guy. They don’t want to pay this guy long term. He’s an expensive player, relatively speaking, but he’s still pretty young. Can be a 20 plus point per game guy. I think if you were to go to Sacramento, he kind of adds more offense to this group and adds more depth down the lineup. Yaka Purle kind of the same thing there. Uh they can stabilize their starting lineup this way. They’re still holding on to players like Demar Rosen and Zack Lavine. And that first round draft pick in 2028 could sneakily be a very, very, very solid pick. So, in my personal opinion, the winner of this deal without a doubt to me would be the Sacramento Kings.
