“[Joan’s] Fun To Watch.” | Chris Finch Summer League Sound | 07.12.25

All right, coach. Good to see you. Uh, your squad 2 and 0 2 and 0 in summer league play. What excites you about this atmosphere and seeing these young guys going out here and play? Well, you know, I can, you know, I can see how um they’re going to play for us, you know, in in um in the upcoming season. You know, we we got a chance to see them this year. Uh and they’re all playing in the same way, in the same manner, but doing a little bit more and doing a little bit better. Terrence Shannon had a good first game. He had 24-7 in this win over Denver. And I was just talking to him a moment ago and he said he’s kind of disappointed with his play so far. He feels like he should be dominating. He said he’s going to talk to you about what you’re seeing in his game. I I love to hear that from a from a young guy. He’s a little hard on himself, but what what are you seeing from Terrence? Well, listen, we love how he plays with so much force. You know, he’s like he’s kind of a locomotive out there. Um he he changes the game with his with his like endto end play. You know, I do think he’s been a little bit hard on himself. I think, you know, one thing he probably can do is clean up his shot selection a little bit, you know, on his three threepoint shot, but we love the fact that he’s committed to it. Um, but he just has to keep just doing more of what he’s doing and, you know, we’re we’re really pleased with that. Um, and uh, he’ll be just fine. We often talk about how as a point guard, that’s one of the toughest roles in the league, especially for a young player, leading the team, understanding when to score and set up your teammates. What are you seeing in the development of Rob Dillingham? I think he’s really trying out there. He’s scrapping. and he’s, you know, given up some size at times and some, uh, maybe some mass, but he’s really really competing there. Um, so he loved that, you know, and he’s really bought into that. Uh, and I think, you know, he’s doing a good job of of running the show. He’s creating a lot of early shots in our offense. Um, you know, he’s taken, you know, he’s taking, uh, you know, the time on his own offense, uh, to get to his spots. Um, you know, I think he’s just had to get the reps and that’s what what this is about. met some other guys who have contributed well. Leonard Miller’s had some good moments. Same thing with Jaylen Clark and and Edwards. But I want to ask about the rookies. Um Baron, uh what have you seen from him? Man, he’s been super dynamic. I mean, he’s got such great feel. Um you know, and and and you don’t often see somebody with who’s still that raw, but has such great feel. Uh he’s a quick learner. He’s got a you know, incredible second leap. He goes after everything offensively and defensively. Um, he plays within himself. I just, you know, he’s he’s he he’s fun to watch, you know, and he’s been really making an impact out there. It’s fun to relax and not worry about wins and losses too much. Just kind of enjoy the games a little bit. Oh, we’re here to win. We got a squad that a bunch of guys who, you know, have played for us and, you know, we know we’re a good squad and we want to we want to win here. So, but it is it’s a great event.
