So, could the Sacramento Kings be trading away Demar Rosen to the Boston Celtics this 2025NBA off season? Well, here on the screen is a trade proposal or a trade idea from fadeawayorld.net. The link to this article is down below in case you want to go ahead and check out the entire thing for yourself, but this trade would see the Boston Celtics receiving Demar De Rozan and the Sacramento Kings receiving Anthony Simons a 2027 firstround draft pick and a 2031 first round draft pick. So, there’s been a lot of speculation about the future of Anthony Simons in Boston. Uh they of course acquired him from Portland in the Drew Holiday trade a couple weeks ago now. But it’s been reported that uh Anthony Simons is a prime candidate to be rerouted prior to the start of the 2025 26 season. So if that is the case, what is an Anthony Simons trade looks like? Well, in this scenario, this would be the Boston Celtics adding some talent to kind of help the team next year get to the playoffs, etc. And then once Jason Tan comes back, the team looks a lot deeper. Um, at the end of the day now, I don’t really see a world where the Celtics want to go out there and add an aging player with money on his contract. So, I’m not too sure if tomorrow Rosen makes the most sense for the Celtics at this point. I think next year for Boston will be a bit of a retool season for them. I think that they probably want to get um as low of a payroll as possible while still being competitive, but also building for the future and obtaining draft capital and obtaining assets, not flipping that for a player like Demard Rosen. So, I think if Jason Tatum was healthy, I think Demard Rosen makes a lot of sense as more of like a one one-year thing for this group. But I think sort of how this team is built and sort of with Tatum’s injury next year impacting the entirety of the 2025 26 season, it doesn’t make the most sense in my opinion. Now, from the Kings perspective, I like this trade quite a bit. You’re getting back an Anthony Simons who is a good young player who has shown that he can be like a 20 plus point per game guy. Perhaps if he were to compliment players like Zack Lavine and Damont Sabonis, he could be a good number three option for the foreseeable future as well as the current time. Now getting back at 2027 first round draft pick as well as 2031 second round draft pick is a pretty good thing at the very least as tradable assets. You can keep these for, you know, if you want to, whatever the case may be. But uh I think Boston’s in a better spot sort of staying pat right now and getting back some younger talents while shedding payroll and not sort of adding to that with this Demar Roen trade. So, Demard Rosen, tremendous player, but if I had to pick a winner for this deal, I’m going to go with Sacramento. But as always, leave your thoughts.
