So, could the Brooklyn Nets be trading away uh Nick Claxton to the Charlotte Hornets this 2025 NBA off season? Well, here on the screen are a couple snippets of an article from bleacher report.com. The link to this article is down below in case you want to go ahead and check it out for yourself, but uh it says landing spot Charlotte Hornets. The Hornets have shipped out Mark Williams and Yousef Mirkage this off season, but they’ve yet to bring in a replacement big. Nick Claxton could fill that void while forming a prolific pick and roll partnership with LaMelo Ball and backboning a defense that had a bottom third efficiency in each of the past two seasons. So, there’s been a lot of speculation this offseason for the last couple months now even about Nick Claxton’s future in Brooklyn. Now, uh prior to DeAndre Eaton going to the Lakers, there was a lot of buzz surrounding Nick Claxton potentially going uh to the Lakers. Maybe he could be a trade candidate there. But with DeAndre Aiden going to the Lakers, I don’t see that happening. Now, the Hornets actually do make quite a bit of sense for a team or for a player like Nick Claxton. As alluded to in the article, they traded away Mark Williams to Phoenix, and they got rid of you Nerkage as well. So, there’s a bit of a hole at the starting center position for them. And if you want to go after one of the better players available on the trade market, I think uh Nick Claxton makes a ton of sense. Uh he fits the age timeline of this team pretty well. As mentioned as well, I think a pick and roll partnership with the Melo Ball might not be a terrible idea. and if you’re able to uh you know to add him to you know they they of course just drafted Khan Kppel this past NBA draft having a front court of Khan and Nick Claxton might not be a terrible thing to go along with Scotty or Brandon Miller and uh you know LaMelo Ball obviously for sort of the future of this franchise. So, it’s going to cost them quite a bit, I would imagine, to get Nick Claxton, especially if you’re a team like Brooklyn. You’d want to get back draft capital and such in return. But, at this point, the Pel or the Charlotte Hornets sort of have that. And if they want to take the next step as a franchise with how wide open the Eastern Conference is next year, I think making a pretty big time swing for someone like Nick Claxton might not be a terrible idea in regards to getting the Hornets back into the playoff conversation.
