Kel’el Ware Gives Miami Heat Strong Response To Spoelstra Callout | Summer League Team Is Struggling
Welcome on in guys. Tobin here with you and thanks for checking out the channel. Hope you’re doing well there and appreciate you guys tuning in as the Miami Heat Summer League what a performance today. I mean, you know, it’s just No, I’d have to be a real sicko to do that, right? Like I’m not going to I’m not going to drink sadness away for summer. I will though take a shot just because uh well quite frankly I could have been watching Love Island this entire time and I chose to watch Heat Cavaliers on a Sunday night. So there’s got to be a little something wrong with me. It’s not even over as I record this right now. There’s just under two minutes left. But another game that uh got away from Miami in the second half, this summer league team uh they uh they man, we’ll get to the good, but I feel we’ll get to the good of the team, which was obviously KL Wear’s response, which was by far the most positive thing. But I do feel like as much as I have enjoyed this summer, it does feel like every day that I do these recaps, it feels like I’m always coming out of it talking about like one individual more so than them as a cohesive unit. And last year’s team obviously very very special. It’s summer league. I realize I sound like a sicko, but this year’s team um it just feels like the highlights every day. this guy had a good performance. That’s that’s the thing. And and just they haven’t been able to put anything consistent together. The third quarter for them, they were outscored Jesus 30-13. Miami shot four of 19 in the third quarter. They just were putrid. Um but this team just has I mean the the big thing today once again they just got their asses kicked on the glass. Now look, for for fairness, Khloe Wear did his part today. Um, and that is like the number one storyline. We all went into this wondering how was he going to respond to this? Um, and he responded very strongly. I mean, there’s no doubt about that. He had his best performance easily of the summer. Um, and and that’s good news. I mean, there’s there’s no two ways to cut it. He finishes today with 21 points, eight of 14. He was two of three from downtown. got to the free throw line five times, hit three of them. He had nine rebounds, so nearly a double double, had three steals and a block, and you know, did all of that in just under 30 minutes. So, Kell Wear today looked uh really really great. I mean, I think if you were going to like be super critical about it, which I know people probably will be because it’s summer league, you’ll be like, “Well, North Chad Omir uh did get a an offensive rebound putback.” and and look uh wear today had two offensive rebounds. The Heat as a team today had six offensive rebounds. I think through the I think through the uh the three through three quarters they had five. Um they got absolutely throttled on that again. And offensive rebounds today as I record this game’s almost over. I have it at 22 offensive rebounds for the Cleveland Cavaliers. So, just another area where the Heat were just giving up second chance points after second second chance opportunities. Uh, just as a team today, the Miami Heat, you know, got outshot by nearly 30 field goal attempts. I mean, you’re just not going to win a lot of games like that. So, um, there’s that. The game has just gone final. Miami Heat, they lose 9272. They will play again tomorrow. And uh a couple of things of note, Vlad Golden didn’t play today uh in the back. So uh we will see him. Dane Dana got the backup center minutes today. The thing is like with today like honestly nobody outside of Kelwar had an impressive game. I mean no even even like Eric Stevenson who you know hit some threes today and hit some shots turned the ball over a bunch. Um ju just yeah this this whole performance today I mean you had Keshot Johnson woof two of 10 he had five points five fouls two turnovers um you know for all the did he get a guaranteed contract crew that’s out there that that stupid club they they they can go have their themselves a field day on heat Reddit Pella Larson today um you know throwing his body all over the place But he also turned the ball over a ton. You had today like look, Eric Stevenson had f four turnovers. Pella had five. Keshot had five. Uh uh I’m sorry. Yeah, Pella Larson had four. Eric I’m sorry. Let me get that right. Hey, the shot got to me too quick. Eric Stevenson had four. Pella Larson had five. Casper Yakonis. weird game from from from I don’t really understand uh what today was with Casperis because did anybody feel today like he like didn’t even play in the game? That’s how I felt. I felt like it wasn’t even like he cuz people mentioned this coming in like Kyro Lewis Jr. didn’t start. They started Stephvenson and I felt like Casper’s I barely remember him getting the basketball. I barely remember him touching the basketball. And I know that there was a big uh focus on Kell today, but I just I I just I barely remember Casper touching the basketball. That’s all I came out. I was like, did he did he play today? Was that was that a thing? All right, so the B the final box scores in 9272. Miami loses. Um turnovers end. Miami 24 turnovers. Sheesh. In today’s game rebounding battle, Miami got outrebounded 48-34, but the big one, 226 in offensive rebounds. They got outrebounded. Um, and Cleveland shot the ball 87 times. Miami shot it 59 times. Neither team shot the three well. Uh Miami got to the free throw line more but missed more shots. So yeah, not a I should be watching Love Island right now, dude. Um so there there’s really not much to break down on this other than Kel Wear. And I think that’s what everybody came into this game wondering what was Kel Wear going to do? How was he going to perform? He performed well. I mean he he definitely performed well. There’s no there’s no way to you know he was more aggressive. You definitely felt him playing with a fire under his ass. Um and I but you know I think I talked about this with all of this the noise going around right like I wasn’t sounding the panic alarm on it but it obviously is of note when Eric Sper they led the broadcast with it. I mean they talked about Jared Greenberg Channing Fry. that led the broadcast talking about Kell and Eric Spolster’s comments and it was definitely noticeable how he responded. He played his best game easily. He played his ass off. Um especially in the first half uh the the whole team felt like they you know no-showed the third quarter that was uh they just got out hustled, they got outplayed. Um and then it was pretty much over by the fourth. I mean, Pella Larson had like a 5-0 run by himself that I think made it like 16, a little respectable, but you know, they just got absolutely throttled, but for him, um, yeah, he he he was, you know, getting fed the ball early. I think he got it the first three possessions of the game. Um, he was and he and and to be fair, like it wasn’t even just, hey, feed him the ball. Like, Kell was trying to give up some assists, too, and had some really nice passes. It felt like nobody on the Heat could finish at the rim. like all of the guards sucked at that. Um, so I I yeah, the Kryptonian played tremendous today. The warehouse was back open. Um, and I even said this before the Spo News broke. I’m like, I don’t even need a full game, dude. Just give me a quarter. Show me that the monster still in there. We saw that today. That’s really good news. And now I guess the challenge is, you know, what is the rest of the summer like for him? Pella is only playing one more game then he’s going off of the Swedish national team. Um they’re 0 and2 to start Vegas summer league. So I imagine their chances at repeating not strong. Um you know it’s hard to repeat as champion. It’s hard to repeat. It’s hard to repeat as champion. Then you know what and and this team you know you do think if we’re gonna if I’m really going to break this down you know you don’t have your true point guard in Isaiah Stevens so critical for them. you don’t have your bucket getter out of anybody in Josh Christopher. Um, you know, so like it’s it’s it’s a team that’s definitely it’s interesting. It’s a little, you know, it’s it’s a little it’s a little flawed. And then you have a guy in Casper who’s been trying to find his way. That’s that was the number one story line. Then this is obvious obviously taken over. So there has been a lot of adversity that this team has had to overcome. Um, but it’s been a lot of personal adversity, not necessarily a lot of team adversity. Um, so for where Yeah, I think you obviously have to be happy with it. I I think my my favorite sequence today, North Chad Omir, baby food, former Miami Hurricanes, big man, all of 67, rugged, uh, just a rebounding machine. You can’t help but root for this guy. I wish this guy was somewhere in the Heat organization. He just feels like he oozes that. um so critical in the Canes team that made the final four and it’s just a you know he’s he’s just an allout effort guy. What did he finish today with? He finished today with uh Oh, that’s I was about to say that doesn’t seem right. North Chad Omir today 10 points, eight rebounds, four offensive rebounds. You know, he was just Yeah, he was just relentless in in his pursuit. But there was a a moment, you know, he’s what does he give up? six, seven inches to Keleran height and he got an offensive rebound and got an and one with Kell fouling and I was like h all right that’s that’s that’s exactly what the Heat want him to perfect and this was after he had a great 11 point and Kell responded right after that with a big time and one and I was like okay great response from that that to me was was so critical because you just did the thing that like everybody’s like you can’t do that and he came back strong and probably to me almost as important as anything his interview with Dennis Scott after his first quarter and this is why I think Kell’s you know a lot of fans were hard on him yesterday right a lot of fans I know that he had like a tweet and delete today um about you know a video in uh in in practice where like I think Vlad Golden got a bucket on him or something like that and he was like he didn’t take kindly to it and he deleted it. Um, and so you were wondering like, all right, is he going to get sensitive about this? Which, look, he’s 21. It’s a natural thing. You get rabbit ears, everybody gets a little stuff. This stuff flies at these guys so much these days. There’s so you literally have to like unplug, especially if you got like Kell, who I don’t even think has like a hu when you don’t even have like a huge following on social media. What does KL Wear have on Twitter? He has 15,000 followers. that I mean for an NBA player that’s nothing. So you’re gonna hear all the noise. He probably is like getting bombarded with it, right? Um he does this interview with Dennis Scott today and he twice twice in the interview on both answers took accountability for effort. He said playing with effort is something I haven’t been doing the last couple of games. And so like he’s just putting it out there like I he’s taken acknowledgement of it which I think is kind is really been the case of Kell like and and you know the Heat aren’t you know they’re known as a confrontational organization. They’re going to put this stuff out there and maybe they just felt like this was the option because it just wasn’t getting through. Um and he says that you know he just had to keep going. We saw Kell you know he had some good block efforts today as a team. Everything kind of broke down this game. Look, man, fully defensively, it it is hard to analyze games like this when you’re talking about both teams today shot 40%. Okay, the Cavaliers shot 24% from downtown. The Heat shot 30% from downtown. The Heat scored 72 points. Understood. It’s a shortened game. This is not an easy, you know, analysis purely. So for me, the bigger deal out of this result, even though this summer league team is not nearly what last year’s was, the two big things that have happened, you had a rookie who was really, really struggling, bounced back with a really, really great performance, most of it in the first half, and then things fell apart in the fourth quarter. But it was important. You wanted the kid to feel confident today. I I I feel like he was almost a forgotten man. Like this. It did feel a little bit today like the focus was on Kell. Get Kell involved. Get Kell. Let’s see. It was almost a test. I do think Kell probably comes today with a comes away today passing that test very strongly because he did play with more effort. He did put up big numbers. um he did seem like he played with a little bit more of a swagger like he could dominate fools and then there was yeah you could nitpick you could be somebody who could like you I could pin I could think of a few plays but it’s also like you’re having a bunch of shots chugged all of his it’s just out of reach you know there was one where like he’s reach going for a block and it’s a it’s slightly a goend like he was trying today man so I think uh and and for him to publicly not even it’s not wasn’t even brought up by Dennis on on the TNT, bro. He brought it up himself and I just thought that bought him a lot. I’m like, you know what? He’s not running from it. He’s not making excuses for it. Maybe he got, you know, a little upset on Twitter about some stuff that’s out there. Natural. We’ve seen guys, it happens, you know, one of the greatest players of all time. I mean, Kevin Durant happens to him literally multiple times a day about the same arguments. Trust me, I had Kevin Durant on notifications for two months, and I greatly regret it because he’s just arguing with people on Twitter about the most mundane stuff, and this is one of the legends of the game. So, if a 21-year-old got a little momentarily upset and then deleted it, come on, cut the kid some slack. He went out there publicly today on a national broadcast and and and called out his effort, called out his defense, called out his performance. and responded with a performance. So, for me, that buys me a lot for him. I thought that I thought that that showed uh I I to me, I was like, this dude’s going to be all right. You know, I know the comparisons that have been out there to to to other guys who have been on this team. I don’t think that he’s that. I think he’s young. I think it’s a developmental project. I think you knew that this was a guy if if Khloe was a perfect player, the dude wouldn’t have been available for the Miami Heat. And Yeah, sometimes tough love is needed and hopefully this is I don’t you know if if he is going to continue play good. Uh if he doesn’t I get it. I think that the the all the lessons and how he bounced back today fine. I I don’t know what I’m not sitting around for media sessions today. So we’ll see what the guys boots on the ground get from it and what coach Glass says about it. Um I’m sure coach Glass is still going to be pissed as a team just because of this another rebounding issue. Um, but you know, the Kell thing today, it definitely I think was a was a good response to, you know, a personal a personal challenge from the head coach. And I think that the secondyear center responded in a in a in a in a big way from not only his performance on the court with his words at least during the broadcast. Um, you know, hopefully as I post this today, cuz I’ve been on a streak with this of like other stuff breaks after I post stuff that he’s not like hosing anybody down, but I don’t think he is. I think that he he took ownership of it. So, that that showed a lot. Um, we’ll see what uh what’s what with the Heat. They got two games left in this summer league after um today was an ugly one. You let another one slip away the the first game. So, we’ll see how this team responds. And uh guess my only other point is like you know outside of the guys we know Yakonis Keshad’s guaranteed Pella is guaranteed um and Kell and Vlad Golden those five like does anybody else here stand out to anybody? I know Javvante Cooks had his moments today. He he he got skunked. Uh Steve Settle haven’t really seen him do anything. Dane Dana okay in California didn’t really stand out today. Eric Stevenson know the dude can hit some threes but kind of small like you know he had a steel and uh and slam today. Casper Shakon is the only play I really remember him having is that steal and bucket uh at the end of halftime. Um Kyra Lewis you know didn’t you know didn’t really stand out today either. So I do wonder does does anybody else on this Bryson Warren has had some good moments. He didn’t play today. So I I well cur I imagine a lot of guys I don’t even know if Pella is going to play. They said that he is and then going to go to uh Sweden, but is there even a point of having him play? I don’t know. So that’s that. That is uh that is uh this performance and uh onto the Love Island finale for

Summer league is for psychopaths …….
I think my favorite part of Tobin’s videos is the real reaction to drinking those shots. Haha. Realistic as fuck😂
I expect better paint dominance on the rebounds. Especially between Ware and Keshad. Back to back games with 20 offensive rebounds. They dont deserve playing time in the regular season if they can’t fix that. Im sorry
KJ was hiding in the corner and let Pelle handle the ball
I had some time to follow the Heat media landscape tonight …
… and some "reports" are presenting a mixed bag on Ware's effort (despite his stats).
Wile E. Tobyote's takes in this video should be amusing then … here goes !
So far the youth movement not looking too hot
The Summer League offense looks just like the regular season offense. Play in tourney here we come. The offense that this team runs has no creative ball movement and inevitably ends up just feeding the hothand. When the hothand goes, cold, usually in the 3rd quarter, it's a wrap.
Jel'el Ware at 21 points at his responded makes him a thousand better than Bam😂😂😂
The 3rd quarter sounds like our team during the season
Is vlad better??
Whatever I saw on kel'ware plays he is not really taking extra effect to shoot the ball he's just waiting for another player to come and grab the bowl from his hand he has to change it when the boys in his hands he has to look for how to move fast to the rim and make a big shot that's the way the other players will get opened up but he's not doing it
idc about wins/losses in summer league as long as guys develop
That’s great for Ware. Now how about not needing people to motivate your ass.
What a difference an actual gameplan makes in terms of Ware's touches. They went to him early and often, and wow, what a difference. Ware is not the issue. The SL roster is BAD. And the coaching is not far off. Shouodve brought back Isaiah stevens.
for him to help the heat is to defend the rim and rebound the ball.
Ware finally showing something today only because he was called out publicly just proves how lazy he’s been
Stevenson seems like the lone bright spot from the new guys. He is the new Max Struss
at this point I'd be looking at other G-League teams we can steal a guy from 😂
An absolute pitiful performance
Keshad Johnson is becoming a real let down. I had him as my breakout player for the upcoming season.
Still getting our asses kicked by a million by Cleveland lmao this honestly how I see every season going from now on,there really hasn’t been a game chaining move,a lot of players who do the same thing but will see I guess
I WISH WARE WAS EXPRESSIVE! HE SEEM LIKE A QUIET KID…IF HE HAD SOME KEVIN GARRETT IN HIM MAN OH MAN!!! HE HAS THAT KEVIN GARRETT POTENTIAL, MINUS THE PERSONALITY..
Hey tob tob we are not championship this year😢,oh boy
I'm sorry but spo is wrong for this..he's never called out anyone specifically in the past..but now..when you don't trash Herro/defense..jovic..has never been outed defense turnover etc
Ware Bam Wiggins Powell Herro is a very good starting five. Herro is a good facilitator when he wants to be. The six is up for grabs. Let Goldin back up Ware. Jak back up Herro. Haywood back up Powell. Jovic back up Wiggs. Keshad at the four. Pelle could rotate with Haywood. That would be my rotation and I would stick with it come hell or high water.
Spo has to simplify the offense. You have two dudes in your frontcourt that can play on the block. Stop chasing Goldsn State and run ya own offense. Higher percentage shots…less chances for turnovers…shorter rebounds will give the defense time to get back. This is ABC. Regular basketball shit. If Spo does this the turnovers will decrease.
Feed Bam and Ware often. Watch the offense improve. We need the interior game to help the outside game.
Well Ware didnt surprised me. He can turn it on when he wants. I think Ware should be done let him enjoy his summer before training camp starts
I'm gonna say this. It's quite OBVIOUS the problems with the Miami Heat are NOT with the players, ANY OF THEM, or their lack of professionalism, or motivation, or whatever.
The problems with the Miami Heat are management and COACHING problems. Have been for years, AS I'VE BEEN SAYING OVER AND OVER, and all this performance by Ware today did was highlight that like a damn 10 MILLION Lumens spotlight.
When they PURPOSELY went to Kel'el and strove to involve him, he DOMINATED. Just as Jakucionis did in the previous game when the coaches PURPOSELY tried to see what he was capable of by ALLOWING him the ability to.
The reason many of the players on Miami have problems is because the coaches HAVE NO DAMN FAITH IN THEM, and do everything they fucking can all the damn time to show them that.
Who cares if they won. They won it before what is the result? Individual matters when the games begins…
Norchad has a fkn MOTOR!

That's what you want to see. When called out…ANSWER DUDE!!!🔥
