Um, starting in his groove later on, you know, 17 points, uh, six rebounds, three assists. He’s, you can tell he’s still learning. He’s still learning a new point composition for him. You know, granted shooting, you know, still a little 0 of three from the three, 04 from the field, but Jir Watkins, man, I’m telling y’all, like defensively when I see him out there, I I I see I see Deshawn Stevenson. Brandon, Deshawn Stevenson was was solid from the three. I believe he was 36% from the three, but Jamir Watkins, ladies and gentlemen, Jamir Watkins. Let’s not sleep on him. Holy hell. Trey Johnson, the first what, four minutes of the game, he had 10 points. And the way he’s doing it like so just clean and just just effortlessly it it comes easy to him. It just you could just see it’s just natural and when he shoots it he expects like he has that like that that that killer killer confidence. I keep seeing that aura with him, you know, but I’m I’m just I’m obviously again it’s just summer league, so we don’t want to get, you know, too too high on this, but like too high like on the highs, too low on the lows. We don’t want to do that. But man, Trey Johnson, bro, I I I I see a future 20 to 25 points per game on a on a nightly basis with him. Yeah, I dude took Tokyo, I I I see it, man. I see it. Like like granted, again, I don’t want to get too too, you know, too excited off a summer league game. Again, it’s two summer league games now. He was our best player last uh uh uh I believe it was on Friday. But I’m like, dude, rookie of the year. Oh, yes. The only thing that’s going to stop Trey Johnson from winning rookie of the year, it’s Coach Keefe if he doesn’t play him as much, which would be dumb if he’s of course he’s going to. I mean, I’m just thinking about like what’s going to happen in the beginning when McCullum’s there. M is McCullum going to eat into his minutes? But that that’s the the only thing that’s going to stop Trey Johnson is McCullum. It’s McCullum. McCullum’s gum play one and two. But you know, hey man, I I I am super excited about Trey Johnson, man. Trey freaking Johnson. Like I don’t know. You can see just the just the the the the the beginnings of a of a of a of a great three-level score with him. We got it. We got it with him. Trey like there was rumors and stuff like that that you know shooting lights out with the Sixers. um not gonna say individual workouts. There was mock drafts of him going high as number three. They missed on Kobe and now Trey. But man, we I we got lucky. Not and and he fell to us. We didn’t even try to get him. But anyways, um that Sar, this is what I want to see from Alex Sar. Grant, his defense, his first game was actually pretty good. You know, it was a little bit overrided from what we saw offensively from him, but the first three or four minutes from the game that just that just ended, you kind of saw the beginning like that you you kind of saw similarities from game one. And you know, um I feel like he just forces it way too much, man. I keep thinking to myself with Sar, bro, just let the game come to you. Focus on second chance points. Focus on your fast break, which he loves to run by himself as a 7-1 dude. Let the game come to you, you know, get in your rhythm and then start doing your things. And that’s what he did. Also, I mean, also applies to the point guard play as well. You want to make sure, you know, Bob Krington want to make sure you set up your big man for the easy baskets underneath the rim. every time Sard dribbles in the ball and charges the pri he’s going to get better at that. He’s going to get better at that. Trust me. Um but yeah, man. And as soon as he let he let he started doing it. He had the same problem last year in summer league. He’s forcing it. He’s thinking too much. Just, you know, just focus on the easy basket, second chance points, fast breaks. Just do that first and then get into your game. Let your defense translate to the offense, which it did. He knows himself defensively. That’s where he’s gonna freak make him make make his money in the league. Eight blocks is eight blocks tonight. I believe he had four rebounds if I’m not mistaken from the first game. Four rebounds. But yeah, man. And also I have no Sar is a really good short roll passer. Sar man like that’s an underrated aspect of his game. I have it right here. Short roll passer. He’s a really good Graham Freriedman says Sar needs a transition from center to stretch four. If he can play off the ball and great defense, he will fit much better. Yeah, completely agreed. Completely agreed. Um, you know, and the the only problem Graham right now is that we don’t have that center on the roster. It’s Bagley shortterm, but it’s going to be, you know, I believe we’re going to get one next year in next year’s draft. But yeah, man. Um, and I want to go Will Riley. I know y’all saw what I saw tonight with Will Riley. He is showing FL 16 points on only six attempts this game. Three or four from the field, three or four from a charity strike. Will Riley, you see the flashes offensively, defensively, the man’s a bit lost. Offensively, three assists, zero turnovers today. Lovely. Hey man, I came into this season thinking, “Oh [ __ ] Will Riley might actually play in the G-League.” Dude, he looks he still looks raw. Obviously, his frame, he needs to add on to that. But Will Riley, y’all, Will Riley is a freaking like you you you just see flashes. I don’t want to jinx him, but like man man. Um, Bub, I know you saw those transition pullup threes. Bub Carrington thankfully in in the beginning in the beginning of the game he was, you know, a little bit more the same from game one. He ended this game strong. He had the crucial three-pointer at the end of the game. Transition pull up threes with a freaking bub. But um yeah, man. And Keshan Jordan I kept saying this when throughout the entire game when I was watching I was like geez his his hands are supremely active. Like active hands. Five steals tonight, you know. But then again, you know, he went 416, went a That’s the thing with Keshan. He’s not shy to shoot it. He is not shy. We saw in the first half of the season last year, he wasn’t making it. I think he was shooting at a 28% from the three the first half of the season and then he switched it up. He turned it up afterwards. Um, but yeah, man. Look, look, I keep thinking this myself, man. I want Keshan obviously he’s gonna get more he’s gonna get minutes at the four, but I want Keshan to get all the minutes at the um the Corey Kissper minutes as well. Man, I want Keshan to get all those Cory Kisper minutes as well. I’m not worried about this one of eight from the three. We know he’s going to be a guy who’s going to be like what 37 38 from the three. Um I already talked about Jir Watkins, but let’s talk about him again. Jir Watkins, y’all. When that shot starts falling with Jir Watkins, we may have something with him. Yeah, he kept calling on Kee George. I was like, “What the hell, boy?” Um, his defense, man, is it’s impressive, man. I I just keep seeing Deshawn Stevenson out there with Jamir Watkins. I really do. Trey Kisser. Yeah, trade him, bud. Trade trade him to the Blazers. Trade him to the Blazers. I’m at the point where Kisper is just like he he’ll reunite with Danny in in in Portland, you know, but I I’m at the point like screw the assets. If we can’t get us even a second round pick, let’s just, you know, let’s just get an expiring contract and let’s just move forward. Let’s just move forward. Like like a Jordan pull trade. In the second game tonight, the game just ended. Even though he shot poorly, 04 from the field, 03 from the three, he did get to the line though. He’s a physical player. Five of six from the free throw line, but you know, two steals today, one assist, four rebounds. He has the entire package. You just need that shot to fall in, especially from the three. Once he does that, it’s going to be hard to not play him. Even though we are deep at the two and a three, he’s going to make he’s going to make guys like Dustin Champeni earn his minutes. Again, competition breeds greatness. Get Jir with Marcus Mart. Yeah. Yeah. That that’s a beautiful combo right there. That’s a that that right there, man. But yeah, let me know what you guys think. What do you guys think about Will Rally? Like obviously like the first thing that the the two things that I I came out with tonight was just like first Trey Johnson. I was like, we got ourselves one. I I’m already cementing like granted it’s just summer league but we’re seeing the continuation from what he did at Texas now here and I’m at the point where I’m just like dude he got it started him at the two game one of the season and let’s just roll from Lock down law. Will Riley is a dog, man. Yes. Yes, dude. He is creative on offense, man. Defensively, he looks a little bit lost out there. I’m not going to lie. But like I you see the up and under moves. Like I I’m impressed, man. I I made that video about Will Riley and the coach from um I believe it was Illinois said he has all-star potential offensively. the best the second best offensive player he’s ever coached besides Michael Beasley. Will Riley, man, holy hell. I I kind of expect him to be raw, honestly. I think right now, well, my prediction coming into the summer league, I was like, he’s the raest player on a team and we have and and that includes AJ Johnson, who’s supremely raw himself. He’s even raw than AJ Johnson primarily because of his stature. AJ Johnson gained muscle. You can see it. You can see it like and I like that. But Will Riley like his stature is just like this this man and he already know and he might be still be growing too. He’s 6’8 right now. He could be 6’9. Grant he has a 68 wingspan that’s working against him. But man, I I’m seeing it. I’m seeing what will I’m seeing the vision that Will Dawkins had. Yeah. He needs to add more weight. Yeah, he needs to add more weight. Um, he’s a certified bucket. Yeah, dude. He was a sixman in uh Illinois. He won a sixman of the year. Didn’t get that minutes. People were saying if he were to come back come back into uh and and enroll into the draft next year, could possibly been a lottery pick. Will Dawkins has been scouting him for two years. They know a lot about Will Riley. I got my eye on Will. I mean, I’ve always I mean, I’ve had I’ve been very intrigued, but like, you know, I feel like some of us were and I’m going throw myself in there. We’re a little bit like, you know, not not down, but like a little bit worried about his wingspan. But if he’s still growing, he’s already 6’8. 69. That wingspan reminded me the [ __ ] he not a center. Marvin Bagley got a short ass wingspan too. Yeah. Uh with Cam locked. He likes those Ethiopian bill players. Yeah. But he’s 19. He’s 19. Second year in a row. Jamir Watkins to three rookies backto-back drafts. I’m thinking about Kent Whitmore. And I’m just like, is he gonna be the sixman? All right, let’s just talk about the dudes he just played. But yeah, man. Alex R. This is what I want to see from him going forward. If he can get you 16 and eight this year on a losing team, granted, there’s going to be a lot of opportunities for him to score. This is what I want to see from him going forward. Stop overthinking it. He forces shots. He’s driving in doing his little euro step in the beginning of the game. He did the first three or four attempts for him. His touch wasn’t there. Just slow down. Let Bub set you up. Go for the second chance points. Go just go work in the fast break. Go from there. We’re probably going to as nothing has been finalized yet. He needs to learn to come to the middle. He needs to learn, okay, this is when I’m going to get my teammates those shots, and this is where I’m just going to get my own. I feel like he’s going to do that. You saw in the beginning of the game and then towards the end, second half of the second half of the game, you saw him just go back to normal bub. Three or four from the three, five or seven from the field, four or five. Grant, I want to see those. Bub, keep attacking the rim. I want to see that from him. Who was the best player? Bub Al Trey. You already seen it with him. I may need to readjust and be like, could he actually earn minutes? Obviously, not starter minutes, just minutes, you know, the little 15 minutes per game to maybe 20 in the first quarter of the upcoming season. Could he? But who is he going to play over? You know, we got like, you know, first we got to see how this roster shakes up. But man, yeah, he’s gonna I Yeah, even though he’s doing this Yeah, I I agree with Andrew. I think he’s definitely going to get some G-League games early on in the season this upcoming year. But then after that, they’ll say after the trade trade deadline, they’re going to unleash him. I’m making a prediction with Trey Johnson. I think he’s going to end up averaging around six assists in his prime. Six assists per game. Is that a bad prediction? I think Trey Johnson is going to get you six assists per game in his prime. Not not next year or not three years from now. Like when he’s 26 27 like even in this limited amount of games like the two games he’s done in the summer league, you can see the playmaking ability. Granted, he just had one assist tonight, but like you just see it. And you know who ha who’s a guy like I might get [ __ ] on for this but Devin Booker. Devin Booker averaged seven assists per game last year. Now I don’t want to say Trey Johnson is going to be solidified Devin Booker, but you see flashes of that. you do. It comes to the point where like in the in the in the in the lottery when we got scorned, who we would have ended up with if we got number one or two, whatever, whatever happened. But now that we’re here, I’m just like, man, everything happens for a reason. If we were at number three. Hey, yo, $70 million a year for seven assists. I get you. I get you. And the Hornets backed out because they were scared that they’re going to lose out on freaking Khan. They were scared that they were going to lose out on Khan, which is why they didn’t make the deal. And they said that the we were eyeing the whiz uh Ace Bailey the trade up that that that report came out I think a day after the draft. I put it on the video. I’m not worried though. I think more seven eight seed right now with not not not this upcoming year, but like when they all reach their potential three years down from from maybe two years from now, I can see the makings of a seven and eight.
