So, could the Los Angeles Lakers be trading away LeBron James to the San Antonio Spurs this 2025 NBA offseason? Well, here on the screen is a trade proposal or a trade idea from bleacherreport.com. But it says or but it says the San Antonio Spurs acquiring LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers acquiring Kelton Johnson, Harrison Barnes, Jeremy Sohan, and a 2027 firstround draft pick. So, every mock trade involving LeBron James that I’ve seen so far over social media, this is probably the best one that I’ve seen so far in regards to the value that the Lakers would be getting back in return for LeBron James. Now, there’s been some mixed reporting about LeBron James and maybe his availability first and foremost, but also too, what teams would have interest in him if he was made available on the trade market. So, if the Spurs were to go out there and acquire LeBron James, I don’t think the asking price would be this much in my personal opinion, but this would also take them out of the Jiannis Koopo conversation, which I think the Spurs would probably want as more of a priority uh compared to getting LeBron James for the short period of time that he has left in his NBA career. So, from the Spurs perspective though, if they want to go for a championship run right away, um, you know, capitalize on Victor Minyama being on a rookie contract, recently drafted Dylan Harper being on a rookie contract, and just sort of having this team with, uh, you know, not the highest payroll as of right now, then yes, I guess this could make sense. But if you’re LeBron James, does going to San Antonio make the most sense right away? I really don’t think so. I don’t think the Spurs are a LeBron James trade away from winning a championship next year, in my personal opinion. So, I think the destination’s pretty cool and the Spurs, of course, have the assets for him. But in regards to a winning, you know, a championship spot, I don’t think the Spurs are a LeBron trade away from making that happen next year in 2026. Now, from the Lakers perspective, I love this move. Uh, getting a little bit younger with players like Kell Johnson and Jeremy Sohan, I think that’s an awesome move for them to go after in regards to a LeBron James trade. Harrison Barnes is more or less to make the money work financially speaking, but also too that 2021 first round draft pick from the Hawks likely nothing crazy probably outside of the lottery most likely, but it’s always good to add some draft capital as well as young talent to a trade that involves a 40 plus year old aging superstar. So, if I had to pick a winner of this deal, I’m going to go with the Los Angeles Lakers. But, as always, leave your thoughts.
