Salary Cap Breakdown – Atlanta Hawks

At the beginning of free agency, the Atlanta Hawks salary cap for next season was perhaps a bit underwhelming. So, they started reshaping their roster. And to start, they were part of a three-team trade with the Celtics and the Nets. First, they sent Terrence Man and the number 22 pick, which became Drake Powell, to the Nets. And then, they sent George Niang and a second round pick to the Celtics. In return, they got Chrisaps Porzingis and a second round pick back. Then they were able to sign one of the most coveted free agents on the market, Nquille Alexander Walker for a reasonable contract. And finally, they also acquired Luke Canard in free agency and then they drafted Ace Newell with the 23rd pick. So without having to give up much, the Hawks were able to invigorate their roster heading into next season. They also crucially remain under the luxury tax and aprons. So we’ll see if they have any other moves up their sleeves to fill out their remaining roster spots.
