Knicks Fans WORST NIGHTMARE Might Be Coming True | NY Knicks News

This could be awful news for the New York Knicks. We’re going to break that down on today’s show. But first, make sure you are subscribed to the channel. If you’re looking for free, multiple free videos every single day on your New York Knicks this off season, subscribe to the channel right now. [Music] Welcome in to New York Knicks now by chat sports. I am your host Marshall Green. I appreciate everybody for stopping by as we react to some news that actually upsets me and I’m pretty pissed off doing this video. James Dolan, the owner of the New York Knicks, who has been out of the picture and since he’s been out of the picture, the New York Knicks have been one of the best organizations in the NBA, has decided to reenter the picture. And more so than that, he is making basketball decisions. And my thing is this, own the team. Do what you want, but let the basketball guys make the basketball decisions. I want to go back in time to when Tom Tibido was fired. And I almost felt like this storyline, at least the really just overarching theme of it being doubled down and confirmed kind of got swept under the rug. It started with Vincent Goodwill of Yahoo Sports saying Tom Tibido’s firing was spearheaded by Nick’s owner James Dolan. And I didn’t really take that all that serious until another Knicks insider doubled down on that. Before we get to him, Vincent said this. Dolan and team president Leon Rose held exit meetings with key Knicks players and the complaints were clear. Dolan, whom sources said was never a huge Tibido fan through the years, asked the questions in the meeting while Rose took a secondary role. Why on earth is James Dolan running the exit interviews for the New York Knicks? I’ll just come out and say it. James Dolan getting back involved with the New York Knicks isn’t great. It’s not good. It’s actually horrible and it scares the out of me. Fred Katz all but doubled down and confirmed and made it even worse than what Vincent first reported. Fred Catz said this. If it were up to Leon Rose and Jaylen Brunson, Tibs would have been safe. So, not only did Leon Rose have his decision-making power pulled and James Dolan got to override him, but the only reason you’re relevant now is because of Jaylen Brunson. You went behind his back and over his head and did the opposite of what he wanted to fulfill your ego. James Dolan to fire Tibido because you guys had beef. the best coach you’ve had, 25 plus years, got to the Eastern Conference Finals. And look, I’m not saying Tibs shouldn’t have been fired. I’m also not saying Tib should have been fired. If Leon Rose was okay with firing Tibs, I’m cool with it. But the fact that Leon wasn’t, and Dolan is, it pisses me off, even if it is the right move. Cat said this on his podcast, the Cats and Shoot podcast. Go check it out. Support him on The Athletic. He said, “The day that the Knicks got eliminated, James Edwards and I came out with that story that we had alignment that Tibido has support from Brunson and has the backing of Leon Rose.” However, James Dolan is the final decision maker on these sorts of decisions. And there were some people who aggregated that and said we were reporting that Tibs was safe. No, we weren’t. We were reporting if it were up to Leon Rose and Jaylen Brunson, Tibs was safe. But it’s not up to Rose and Brunson. There was a definal decision maker who was leaving it lingered. We had an inkling that James Dolan wouldn’t want Tibido or would want Tibido out. We didn’t know for sure, so we couldn’t report that James Dolan wants to fire Tibs, but we had an inkling. James Dolan sat in on exit interviews. I could tell you I have spoken to a number of people from a number of different organizations around the league. an owner sitting in on exit interviews is they raised eyebrows. It’s not normal, not a regular thing. That’s not a routine thing. It wasn’t something that happened with the Knicks until this time around. So, for the first time you get to the conference finals, you’re sitting in on exit interviews. James Dolan, you didn’t want to do it when they lost to the Heat two years ago in round two. You didn’t want to do it after you lost game seven at home against the Indiana Pacers last year. But after you beat the Pistons and then you beat the Celtics and then lose in game six of the Eastern Conference Finals, you thought, “You know what? Leon has built this awesome place up. Let me intervene.” It’s one thing to be involved, Dolan. It’s your team. Do whatever the hell you want. I get it. You’re paying the Bucks even though they were whatever. It’s another thing to override Leon Rose. It’s one thing to want to be involved. It’s another thing to be able to say, “Leon, I don’t give a what you’ve done. It’s my team. It’s my house. It’s my way or the highway.” It’s probably why him and Tibs didn’t get along because they’re both those types of peoples. Except one is much more successful than the other. Cats making it abundantly clear, owners don’t sit in on exit interviews. That’s not what normal teams do. That’s not what normal owners do. And I don’t think the Knicks have a normal owner. Cats cats also said, “I know those meetings happen.” James Dolan led those meetings and all of a sudden Tibido got fired. Again, it’s another thing to sit in on the exit interviews. It’s another to lead them like you’re the teacher and have Leon Rose sit there and not do anything. Like, has he not learned his lesson? Has Dolan not learned that you leave the basketball decisions to the basketball people? You have a guy named Leon Rose that has turned this franchise on its head, a complete 180 from a trajectory like this to a trajectory like that. Like what? No one stopped being involved. And what happened? He went and worked on that sphere in Vegas. He was out of the picture. Nowhere to be seen, nowhere to be heard. And Nick’s success came. And now he’s back wanting to be involved. I I Can you go build another sphere? Can Can you go build one another country? C Can you just not put your fingerprints on this Knicks team? I just uh I’m worried, ladies and gentlemen. Like when is anything ever come in good graces to the Knicks based off the decision making of James Dowan? can’t help himself. He can’t. He said, “Oh, my Knicks are doing good.” Even though I had nothing to do with it. Let me come get involved again. Like, just sell the team, man. Sell the team. You got a lot of money. Sell it. Get even more money. Make more records. Build more spheres. And just stay out of the way. But, but you can’t. your team has had the most success it has in a quarter century and you just think and obviously don’t think like this. You think you can make it better, but how it comes out is how can I mess this team up? And I’m not saying firing Tibs is messing this team up. But allowing Dolan to have final decision-making power over Leon Rose, that uh that scares the ever living out of me. Got a couple more thoughts about this. And speaking of Dolan selling the team, you can get this stuff on sale. chatsports.comnicksale. chatports.comnicksale. This is on sale. The Nicks benevolent will never be sold uh on sale. Get your shirts, get your jackets. A lot of Nick’s gear on sale at that link. I really do believe that James Dolan would rather be involved than out of the picture with the Knicks being better off. He would rather be involved making the decisions, his fingerprints on moves, the team built in his image and they’re not so good instead of I have nothing to do with this team. I’m out of the picture. I’m letting Leon Rose cook and they’re good. Like I don’t know what word you use to describe a person like that. But but that’s what James Dolan is. He’d rather be involved in the team be bad than out of the picture in the team be good. Like Yeah. an is what we call those people. Like how many times we have to do it? How many times? What was bringing in Isaiah Thomas not enough? Or about Larry Brown or Eddie Curry or Jerome James? And the list goes on and on and on. There was a reason the Knicks were the laughingstock of the NBA before Leon Rose got here. The worst franchise in the NBA before Leon Rose got here. It’s because of you. Let the basketball people make the basketball moves. I don’t want you doing anything that comes related to this team. You want to raise the prices? Sure. You You want new vending machines? You want new concession stands? You want to build a sphere right next? Sure. I don’t give a Just don’t do what you already did, which is make the decisions over Leon Rose’s head. And to be honest, I get it. We all have bosses. A lot of people probably hate their bosses, but the way work goes is you got to listen to your bosses. But I’m a little disappointed by Leon Rose. Um, I don’t really know what I expected you to do in this situation. But, uh, I don’t love that your word is not final. And I’m not saying stand up and quit because I definitely don’t want that. But put your put your foot down and you make the decisions. And you tell little Jimmy James Dolan to go play with his sphere in Vegas. James Dolan said this about Mike Brown being hired. I would like to welcome Mike Brown to New York in the next organization. Leon and our staff ran a thorough and thoughtful process that led our organization to Mike and I’m pleased to see him on the sideline for us next year. Again, I’m not saying Tibido being fired was right. I’m also not saying Tibido being fired is wrong. But it’ll always be wrong if James Dolan is the one making the decisions. I could have J I could tell James D what my favorite food in the world is. He could get me that dinner. I still don’t want it. I don’t want him making any decisions that impact my team and my life cuz his team it is my life. If you want Dolan to take a back seat, hit that thumbs up icon. I don’t know if he is dumb enough to ruin this thing, but I think he could be. And and that scares me. Waited a long time for this team to be good. You waited a long time for this team to be good. It would be a real shame if the reason they’re not good is because James Dolan once again. [Music]

New York Knicks fans just got terrible news in the way of Knicks owner James Dolan being too involved in the NY Knicks organization. Knicks owner James Dolan has let GM Leon Rose take care of the basketball moves all the way up until now. Since Leon Rose has been in charge, the Knicks have made multiple playoff appearances and made it to the Eastern Conference Finals in the 2024 season. Knicks Now host Marshall Green breaks down how bad it really is that James Dolan is getting involved in the NY Knicks.

The Athletic’s Fred Katz on Knicks coaching rumors:
“The day that the Knicks got eliminated, James Edwards and I came out with that story that we had alignment that (Thibodeau) has support from Jalen Brunson and has the backing of Leon Rose, however, James Dolan is the final decision maker on these sorts of decisions. And there were some people who aggregated that and said we were reporting that Thibs was safe. No, we weren’t. We were reporting if it were up to Rose and Brunson, Thibs was safe, but it’s not up to Rose and Brunson. There was a final decision-maker, who was leaving it linger. We had an inkling that James Dolan would want (Thibodeau) out. We didn’t know for sure, so we couldn’t report that James Dolan wants to fire Thibs, but we had an inkling. James Dolan sat in on exit interviews, I can tell you, I have spoken to a number of people from a number of different organizations around the league — an owner sitting in on exit interviews is … it raised eyebrows. It’s not a normal, regular thing. That’s not a routine thing. It wasn’t something that happened with the Knicks until this time around.”

  1. It doesn't matter if Dolan made the decision. If we agreed that Thibs needed to go then it was the right decision. Thibs needed to go… PERIOD

  2. He said he would let Leon Rose do his thing and Rose has improved the team everywhere year. Why must he ruin something good?! 🤦🏽‍♂️

  3. Words can't express how much I hate James Dolan. He will be the reason we don't win a chip. Thibs deserved at minimum the first half of the season.

  4. Are you crazy?

    Thibs was terrible,

After an over time game he played 7 in game 2 and lost the series and possibly the NBA Championship.

    He deserved to get fired

Dolan is mid but Thibs was the worst

  5. AND DO YOU KNOW WHY JIM DOLAN IS IN IS BECAUSE HE WAS WATCHING THEM TWO NIGHTMARE GAMES IN THE E.F.C. AND HE WATCHED THE KNICKS BLOW A GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY TO GO TO THE FINALS. SO I DOINT WANT TO HER NOTHING ABOUT THE OWNER THAT HAS TO PAY OUT HUNDREDS OF MILLONS OF DOLLARS TO THE SPOILED ASS PLAYERS. IF I OWNED THE KNICKS I WOULD BE HIGHLY PISSED AT THE WAY THEY PLAYED IN THE E.F.C.

  6. Look, we are a much better organization when Dolan stays out of the way, for sure!

But, “spearheaded” doesn’t mean “forced”. More than any other of our Team Presidents, Dolan has shown to trust Leon. CAA is arguably the secondary ownership group of our team after all!

I doubt if Leon was fully endorsing Thibbs he still gets fired.

But, just the same, Dolan has to realize we are just simply a better team when he falls back!

  7. An NBA season plus playoffs is not a sprint, but a marathon. I like Thibs, but because he would never go deeper into his bench, despite the talent, we were never gonna reach our full potential— a championship. With his coaching decisions, we were always gonna have that "glass ceiling" over us–which we hit this past season–the ECF. As much as i did like Thibs, a different voice is needed to take us where we wanna go. And, while i did want Mike Malone, i do believe Coach Brown can get us there as well. Just my thoughts. 🏀💯

  8. Thibs was not coaching in a way that was improving this team. Thibs was doing Thibs — AGAIN. Thibs fired himself.

  9. Fake news. Zero chance Leon rose would allow Dolan to make basketball decisions and stay. He’s too rich for that

  10. My question is what happens if the Knicks flop this season and get kicked out in the 1st/2nd Round? Who gets the blame? Does this organization finally take accountability for their mistakes?

  11. I admire, respect, and appreciative to have JB on the team, however, his support of Thibs is because Thibs enabled and allowed him to play a certain way.
Keeping it real, JB as the leader of this team needed to get his teammates more involved in the offense. JB is going to command a double team so he needed/ needs to pass the ball more.

He proved that he’s a superstar in this league, so he should have facilitated more and made his teammates better. This would have made his game easier. The Knicks had the talent to win a championship, but they lacked the adjustments by Thibs and yes, JB to better involve the other players.
The evidence was there when JB went down that the other players can step up and produce.

  12. If Dolan decided to sell what would the Knicks go for? Also Dolan is not like Jerry Jones. As long as Leon is here we’re good.

  13. Thibs had to go. He was never gunna win us anything. However, Dolan shouldn’t be involved in exit interviews and making executive decisions about a basketball team when he isn’t experienced in handling basketball decisions. I’ve said this for a long time, he should sell the team to someone else who actually respects the game, but it’ll never happen because he’s too greedy so I hate the guy. He was good friends with Harvey Weinstein and a Trump supporter. That should tell you all you need to know.

  14. The team wouldn’t have lasted the year under under the last coach. You can’t beat up your starters that way plus he doesn’t develop young talent. Look at Obi Toppin. If he devolved all the young players. We wouldn’t need have made all
    Those trades

  15. Clickbait. Thibs was so obviously a liability and lost in that last series to the team that everyone knew he had to go bro. Dolan isn’t into crunching numbers and scouting. We got JC AND GUERSHON on masterful deals since the firing. Calm the fuck down

  16. What an egotistical asshole. I stopped supporting the Knicks because of Dolan running the org into the ground.
Welp, here we go again smfh.

  17. Management gave Thibs an awful bench. Look at the Summer League, Dadiiet and Kolek don’t look like NBA type players. Josh Hart and Deuce looked bad.

  18. Picture Leon & Brunson saying Thibs needed to be fired. Wouldn’t happen.

If Dolan is taking the heat, to alleviate stress from their relationships, good on him.

  19. Listen man. I don’t like Dolan meddling but this was justified and wouldn’t be mad if he axed Leon too. Leon leans too hard into making everything about relationships. He was never going to fire Thibs. He only looks for guys that he has some ties to in free agency. His drafting has been highly questionable. Leon’s best move was Brunson and let’s be honest there was some luck there. He’s put together a good team but he’s not making it sustainable. There’s a shortened window because he refuses to draft with intent of finding great players. I believe Dolan notices all these things.

  20. Am not backing up Thib on that. Thib did that to himself. Don't know where you going with this conversation. Senseless
