Jace Richardson continued to make a strong impression in his second 2025 NBA summer league game as the Orlando Magic faced off against the Toronto Raptors. The rookie guard, selected 25th overall in the 2025 NBA draft, showed poise, athleticism, and a clear understanding of the game. Perhaps no surprise given his pedigree. The son of former NBA star Jason Richardson, Jace put up an efficient 19 points in just 25 minutes, adding two rebounds, four assists, two blocks, and only one turnover. He shot five of 10 from the field, hit one of three from beyond the ark, and went an impressive eight of nine from the free throw line. Richardson looked in control from the opening tip. He attacked the basket with confidence, drawing contact and finishing through defenders while also showing a smooth shooting touch from the mid-range and perimeter. His court vision was on display as he consistently found teammates in transition and out of pick and roll sets, helping to keep the Magic’s offense flowing. Defensively, he used his length and quickness to disrupt passing lanes and even recorded two blocks, showing that he’s not afraid to challenge shots at the rim. What stood out most was Richardson’s composure and maturity. Coming off a standout freshman year at Michigan State, where he earned all Big 10 third team and Big 10 all freshman honors, he looks like a player ready to contribute sooner than expected. His performance against Toronto builds on a solid summer league debut and hints at his potential as a reliable two-way guard for Orlando. For a franchise focused on developing young talent, Richardson’s early signs are promising. His blend of skill, athleticism, and basketball IQ reflects both his college development and his NBA lineage. If he continues this trajectory, Jace could be another draft gem for the Magic. And like his father, he might be in the league for a long time. [Music]

Dude is legit!
i don't care about wins and losses in Summer League, it's more about just seeing how the new guys perform + analyzing them as individual players. and as a Magic fan, i'm really loving what i'm seeing from Jase. ππͺ
