Kevin McCullar Jr BREAKING OUT! Ariel Hukporti CONTINUES To Impress | Knicks News

I told everyone to watch this kid and today I hope you were watching. Kevin McCuller Jr. had a breakout performance and dropped 30 points and Ariel Huckporty continues to impress with his dominance. We’re going to break down all of these latest reports today. If you’re enjoying the content, please go ahead and hit that subscribe button and make sure you have notifications on as well too. Before we start talking about the game, let’s get a few things out of the way. Tonight’s game against the Boston Celtics felt like a replay of the Detroit Pistons game from Friday. The Knicks had problems with defense. They could not make a shot. And can somebody please check on Tyler Koh because I have no idea what’s going on with him. Now that we’ve covered all of the bad stuff, let’s take a look at some positives when it comes to the Knicks and this game tonight. The Knicks dropped this summer league game 94 to 81. Oh, did I not mention that the Knicks were blown out again in this game and Bassie went off on us during this game? I believe he had about 20 points. A couple of those points were open threes. I understand with this summer league game, there was a lot of bad. However, there was also some good if you knew where to look. Like looking at the performance of Kevin McCull Jr. who absolutely broke out during tonight’s game against the Celtics. Shout out to New York basketball on the app X for giving us this following information here. According to them, Kevin McCull Jr. in his second summer league game, 30 points, four rebounds with 10 of 15 shooting from the field. Regarding that face mask, according to head coach of the summer league, Jordan Brink, he said that Kevin McCull Jr. wore the mask because he got hit in the face in game one. And that’s really unfortunate. Even though he was having a breakout performance, he got hit in the face again near the end of the game. And because of that, he had to exit the game and he could not return. Shout out to New York basketball for capturing this moment. As you can see there in the still image, Kevin McCuller Jr. is down with about three minutes and seven seconds to go in this game. The game is already over. That’s probably why he did not return. But you can see him there on the floor clearly in pain, holding his face with that protective mask on it. And shout out to James L. Edwards from The Athletic for giving us this following information here. According to him, Kevin McCull Jr. made some good reads in tonight’s game against the Boston Celtics, both with the ball and without the ball as a cutter. He also made some nice passes, too. Much better than game one. That three ball for him is still not falling, but no one on the team is making any shot, so it’s not hurting him that much. James L. Edwards continues here by stating Kevin McCuller Jr. said he’s viewing this year as his rookie year after missing summer league and most of the season. Said last season was a grind with rehab, but his teammates made sure to keep him involved. Clearly, he is motivated to prove something during summer league. He had a breakout performance, but even more than that, he was injured in game one, but that didn’t stop him from playing in game two. He just put his mask on and got to work. And you guys know how I am. I like to be fully transparent. Some of the stats you’re not seeing there is the amount of fouls he had, which I believe were nine. Yes, nine fouls. In summer league, I don’t believe you can foul out or I forget the number it takes for you to be able to foul out. Either way, he had nine fouls, but the other number I was looking at was his turnovers. I believe he had five or six turnovers for the entire game. That’s not the stat that you want to have highlighted when you’re talking about somebody’s stats for a game. But unfortunately, we have to talk about it because it is something to look at. Defensively, a two-way monster is sleeping within Kevin McCull Jr. The only thing for him to do is find it. And games like this, breakout performances like this, this is how you do it. He was aggressive. He was attacking. The main reason he was doing that is because he understands his game. He’s not the best shooter. We all know that. However, he’s very good at being aggressive and attacking and getting to the line and getting to the rim. And when you see a player on you that looks like they want a foul, you take advantage of that matchup. And that’s exactly what Kevin McCuller Jr. did. He was also great to close out the game in that fourth quarter. He was finding Ariel Hucky with passes inside. And Hucky, he was dominating himself. In that first half, he looked okay. But in that second half, he turned it up and right behind Kevin McCuller Jr., He looked like one of the best players on the team. Shout out to this Knicks fan on the app X for giving us Ariel Huckport stats from tonight’s game. As you can see here, tonight Hucky had nine points, two of four from the field, five of six free throws made, 13 rebounds. Yes, 13 rebounds. He almost had a double double, one assist, two steals, three blocks. three blocks. He was moving very well. He was active. He was all over the court, especially in that fourth quarter. I don’t know what happened with him, but for that entire game, he was playing well. In that fourth quarter, he started to roll aggressively to the rim and the Knicks point guards, they started to find him and that’s where everything started to break apart. Ariel Huckport is extremely impressive. He clearly has something to prove and he’s proving that point each and every summer league game. As you can see here, I posted this response to the game as I was watching it to start the fourth quarter. Kevin McCull Jr. and Ariel Huckporty have looked extremely impressive in the second half, especially this fourth quarter. Huck is rolling aggressively and Nick’s point guards are finding him. What an absolute force. And I am telling you, if you watch this summer league game tonight, you saw exactly what I did. Kevin McCuller Jr. breaking out and Hucky taking another step to showing everyone why he belongs at the NBA level. His activity, his rebounding, his block shots, the way he moves without the ball, the way he gets the ball inside and still makes something happen. But how about getting to the line and making his free throws? That’s exactly what we need a big man to do on this team. Not only play amazing defense, not only get block shots, not only get rebounds, but when you’re on the court, you’re not a liability. If you get fouled, you can go to the line and make your free throws. Huck, he is proving to everyone he can do this. Even though the Knicks lost, and I know we can keep going around and around on why the Knicks lost, how the Knicks lost, what they didn’t do correctly. However, as I said in an earlier video, and I’ll say it again, it’s summer league. And for summer league, it’s more to me than just the wins and losses. Even though that’s important, it’s also about looking at the flashes of brilliance that we’re seeing from each and every player. And tonight we saw that in abundance from Kevin McCuller Jr. and Ariel Huckporti. Some other notable names to give a little bit of praise to Pakcom Dier and Mohamed Diawara. Especially Diawara, he may have not played that many minutes, but when he was out there so impressive. His activity level, his steals, the way he goes on defense. He can even playmake, attack, and while he’s driving to the basket, he’s going to clear space and open up a shot for one of his teammates, Mohamad Di Aara. If he figures it all out, he could be a very special player for this Knicks team. Two players that must step it up the next summer league game is Tyler Kak and Marjan Bochamp. I have no earthly idea what happened to either of these players. Marjan could not make a bucket. He was open for many of his shots and couldn’t make anything. Tyler Koh needs to go to a doctor. He needs to go see a specialist. He needs to go see somebody. His passes not Kohl like his offense not co-ch like a summer league Celtics team shut down Tyler Koh. You can talk about the double teams them trying to get the ball out of his hands. He was missing open shots. He was missing players that were open rolling to the rim. He was responsible for a number of turnovers. Again, this was probably his worst performance as a Nick. As a Nick in summer league. This is a problem. Tyler Kle, Marjan Bochamp, both of you guys, you have to figure it out before the next summer league game. But clearly, two players that already know what they need to do. And figured it out is Kevin McCuller Jr. and Ariel Huckporty. Great performances from both of those guys and I wish we could have made it better for them, but unfortunately the Knicks are walking out of this one with a loss. But we got to see some bright spots again if you know where to look. But what about you guys? What do you think about the Knicks unfortunately dropping this summer league game to the Boston Celtics 94 to 81? Let me know how you feel about that in the comment section below, guys, because honestly, I would love to hear from you. But that’s going to do it for this episode. I hope you enjoyed it, and if you did, go ahead and smash that like button, leave a comment below, and of course, guys, please subscribe to the channel. Until next time, Nick fans, take care of yourself, your families, and each other. Peace and

The second Knicks Summer League game didn’t go as expected but there were a few bright spots, if you knew where to look. One of those bright spots was Kevin McCullar Jr who had a breakout performance, dropping 30 points on extremely efficient shooting. He wasn’t the only one impressing Knicks brass, Ariel Hukporti took another step showing everyone why he deserves to play at the NBA level… Troy Mahabir breaks all of this down!

  1. McCullar had a good game. I’m not a fan of his game but he did play well minus the turnovers and silly fouls. Overall he did well. He hit all his free throws as well. Beauchamp & Kolek were horrible. Pate played within the system and has a few nice plays. We need a backup PG for sure.

  2. My prediction is that Dadiet and Mohamed Diawara won’t be on this Knicks team. They most likely getting waived or they getting traded. But we are going to see.

  3. I have a question, I'm noticing that I'm taking the summer league too seriously, like the normal NBA season. Are we supposed to take this summer league seriously or focus on the players so they can also get the experience? Thanks in advance.

  4. Diawara has been great, lock down defense, can push the pace and has a nice handle, rebounds and takes it strong to the bucket. Not only should he make the roster, but he can help our team right now

  5. Na we not gonna mention his turnovers, this is second game in his ROOKIE season since he was injured last year. I never take turnovers serious with rookie's, they're rookies for a reason. Kolek will be fine as long as he gets actual consistent minutes. We need a 10-12 man rotation on a nightly basis

  6. Tyler will be fine it's Summer League with a rookie who didn't even have minutes & was in the G League. I will say this though, all whi said he should start over Brunson look even more braindead then they did for initially making that bizarre statement 💀

  7. The Knicks should send Kolek, Diawara, Beauchamp (yes he was bad tonight against the Celtics but he performed better in the Pistons game on Friday) and Pate to the G-League. Dadiet , Hukporti, and McCullar all deserve minutes on this roster, but likely Dadiet and McCullar will initially be placed on the inactive roster. Hukporti should definitely get significant minutes in the second unit of what should be a 10-11 man rotation.

  8. A couple of remarks… I don’t care about the result, it doesn’t matter. This guy Diawara again has had the best +- out of all, he reads a game well, has size and definitely should be signed on 2nd round rookie contract. Hukporti is solid again… McCullar also will be useful I guess. All the others ( scrapping my head)…. And yes, we need another PG off the bench unless they decide Clarkson or/and Deuce are to play this role

  9. i’ve seen enough.. Ariel Hukporti & Kevin McCullar Jr should be in the main games rotation. Seeing Huk subbing in for Mitch would be 🔥.. and if Kevin can give us at least 15+ on a consistent basis.. 👍

  10. This goes over to coaching staff from last season it just shows how bad they coached the young players or call it our bench last season , they looked like they haven’t a clue what’s going on and that’s a left over from thibs !

  11. 🔥🔥its still early to judge.. Although, a Bad game aint too Bad.. As Kolek have video to look at.. So far.. Ariel & Keven will Be good.. All will make the team.. Its too early for me 🌞🔥🔥

  12. Kolek looked like trash but whoever that defender was on the Celtics was up his ass the entire game. He played him like a playoff game. Otherwise, it's summer league so it's more about individual performances rather than a system.

  13. Kevin and Huk have a future with the team. I see why the Knicks are looking for another pg with the veteran minimum. Adding those two makes sense now because Tyler is not the answer!! 🙄🤨

  14. You lose some credibility when you tell your audience everyone the Knicks sign is a "monster" or a "beast." You would think this team would be abusing other teams

  15. Summer league is to see what type of players you have and not the team results or if they win. Kolek will be fine, calm down on summer league results Troy. Smh

  16. It's time to seriously consider Ben Simmons. This team's biggest weakness and lack of a secondary ball handler who can guard, hasn't been addressed. Ben can help this team emensly.

  17. Its Summer League. Winning games is ok, but we really want to see which players are ready for some prime time NBA action. Kevin, Hukporti awesome. Dadiet showing potential. Tyler wtf 😮
