Uh I think Khan Canipple is playing his uh teammate from Duke for the Hornets. He didn’t play in the last game for whatever reason. And they’ve seen enough of Cooper flag. So they’re taking him out just to be safe. No need for him to continue to play. He’s dominating uh when he plays or he has been. He’s played very well. So they’ve gotten out of him what they want. Now, the Hornets haven’t gotten the same out of Ka Nipple offensively, but he’s made his made his presence known in other parts of the game, which that’s what I call a good player. And like I say, and I will continue to say, it’s going to work out for the Hornets and Canipple. Uh, so you got we’ve got Atlanta and Houston uh in overtime. So, we are going to be going to the Hornets versus the Mavericks right after this. Uh the overtime uh session is only two minutes. All right here, the Hornets are shooting 35% from the field. That’s not very good. But the Dallas Mavericks are only shooting 31. Uh from three-point land, both teams have scored the exact same four. Four out of 13 for 30.8% from behind the free throw shooting. The Hornets are shooting 75%. That’s six of eight. Dallas, believe it or not, has not been to the free throw line yet. They they are however out rebounding the Hornets 18-4. They have two more assists than the Hornets, six to four. The Hornets do have four steals to one. The Hornets now are six of 18 while the Dallas Mavericks are four of 16. The Hornets have hit nine of their 12 free throws for 75%. And the Mavericks have yet to go to the free throw line. Uh so they know they’re going to keep Khan. So I guess you know just like the Mavericks did with with Flag, they may go ahead and set him out. You know, they they they listen, look, the Hornets the Hornets have so many guys sitting out during the regular season. Like, why wouldn’t they set him out? Plus, they set um McNeely out. McNeely didn’t play today. James didn’t James didn’t play today. This this the Hornets MO. They just set guys out. Like, I don’t know what the what the deal is, bro. Like, you’re not we’re not going to be able to win if we can’t play. Like, why’d you get in the NBA? Why’ you draft guys in the in in the team? What what to the team? Like, come on. you know, I I and I I don’t want to say I can’t say whether it’s because the Hornets stay hurt, stay injured, you know, um that they in the regular season, and I’m talking this was early on in the regular season, like like you might have a guy that plays three games and then he sits out. He’s on the bench in street clothes. He sits out and he comes back and plays the next game. Like what is that? What is that? And there’s some guys that play every game like Miles Bridges play every game. Like what is Come on, guys. Mellow Balls always out. He’s always hurt but he’s all you know even when he’s not hurt. Got like he’s hurt. I guess they set him out. They said there’s always somebody that’s setting out like how do you get continuity? How do you get consistency in your team when you set everybody out every other game? But anyway, maybe they’ll get it together. Maybe things will be different. I hope so cuz it’s going to be the same old Hornets if if if we don’t u we need to we need to we need to go find we need to look at these teams who don’t have guys that’s getting hurt all the time and sitting out. And that’s how you need to build your team. like thing. Is it is it our is it the managers the the the uh the physicians on the team physicians that we have on the team that don’t know what they’re teaching our guys? Do the Hornets even have a offseason workout plan? I don’t know. I don’t know. But um yeah, something’s got to give. Something got to give. the the city, the the state deserves a win. You you’d be hardressed to find any team, any organization that has produced so little and still has a great fan base that just wants to go out, just wants to be in that atmosphere. All right. Jayen Sims is uh he’s a guy that could I mean, you know, he he looks for his offense sometimes. I think he he tries to do a little bit too much. Makes makes uh bad decisions. Like there it is right there. He had two turnovers. Uh I know one of them didn’t have to happen. just dribbling into uh dribbling into traffic. Uh but uh Neil uh played four minutes, did not score. PJ Hall, and this is an interesting guy. PJ Hall had nine points. He had five rebounds. A solid guy. I think uh Tubler was saying he could probably play the four or five because he’s pretty he’s a pretty decent sized guy. All right. Uh, decent size guy can do a little bit of everything with the ball. He had five rebounds. Uh, Aduro played three minutes, didn’t score. MJ Walker played 20 minutes tonight. He had six points the other night. He had uh he was like great shooting behind the three-point line. And that’s what I was asking like is he actually a shooter or was he just having a good night the other night? You know, I think he hit one three today. Actually, he hit two threes. He was two of seven. He took them. Just didn’t hit him like he was the other night. So, the Hornets have enough of that. They have enough guys who can score, but like I said, we need that knockdown three-point shooter. And it may not be Khan Canibipple, but we do have an a uh is the name Coneton. That is a I mean, would you consider him a a knockdown three-point shooter? He’s more consistent than a lot of guys we have on our team. Put it that way. All right. Uh Banks did not play. Well, he did play. He didn’t score tonight. He has six uh minutes. DJ Rodman, he scored six points. He had six rebounds. DJ Rodman is the son of Dennis Rodman, but DJ Rodman is a guard, decent ball handler. Uh, again, the Hornets have enough guys like Robin. He’s not the knockdown shooter. He can score, but he’s not the knockdown shooter, right? Not that outside threat that that that marksman that we need. That’s that’s what we need. Damen Ball had 19 minutes tonight. He scored four points. Uh Damen Ball was instant uh energy when he ca when he played for the Hornets last year. He was called up a couple of times and and a few times and played a lot at the end of the year. Um Ba just his shooting is not outstanding. He’s just high energy. He was 207 from the from the field tonight. Um I think he might be forcing a little bit. Maybe just forcing a little bit. uh those he went 02 from behind the three-point line and those were some ugly shots. All right, but anyway, that’s it for the Hornets. Uh Scion, like I said, and Liam McNeely did not play for the Dallas Mavericks. Sharp had two points in 16 minutes. Maxwell Lewis with 15 minutes had nine points. Uh Matt Cross uh 23 minutes, four points. Miles Kelly 23 also. He has seven. Oh, by the way, uh Matt Cross had nine rebounds. Uh Ryan Nimhard. Nimhart scored 11 points. Most of those he scored in the first half. He had eight assists. I like them hard. All right. The only thing I don’t like about him is he plays for the Dallas Mavericks. Uh De’arra had two minutes in the game, he scored three points. Cece 16, he had eight and four rebounds. Phelps scored three points. Jaylen Williams scored four. Uh Cleveland scored three points in 18 minutes. Jordan Hall five. Uh Nolan Hickman had three points and Ano Chile Anotilli Keelan Anotili Kilan had seven points tonight. I like that name Anotilian. And as you can see our Hornets in summer league have moved back up to the top there. Uh I think looks like they’re in second place. They are undefeated right now, but uh I I do not think they’re going to hang on to that esteemed position because um like I said, I don’t think everybody’s going to play. You know, may maybe they’ll they’ll they’ll have McNeely continue to play. Maybe they’ll have Sion continue to play this and that will help guys out. uh Simpson is doing a lot of the scoring. Uh and since I don’t know I I don’t know if the Hornets are going to keep him around or not, especially on the team, he may be a a two-way or whatever. Um but it seems as though he’s going to play every game. You know what I’m saying? like like they they they’re sitting the the Mavericks are sitting Cooper flag out because you they don’t want to take a chance of him getting injured. They’ve seen enough uh haven’t the Hornets seen enough of Simpson. We we know what he can do. He showed us last year, but I think he’s going to continue to play. All right. So, I don’t know about McNeely. I don’t know about Cion. Uh if the Hornets are going to be like, “Hey, we don’t care about winning the summer league championship or whatever. We don’t care about that. We just want to We want to look at these other guys, give them a chance, and see which guys we’re going to keep. Maybe give them a two-way, put them on the GLeague or whatever. All right. Uh Melvin Ainka didn’t play and Mclofflin did not play for Dallas. All right. Now, finally, finally, the team stats. Neither team got uh into the 40% shooting tonight. The Hornets shot uh 37.7% while the Dallas Mavericks only shot 33.8% from the field. Three-point shooting, the Hornets hit 12. They were 12 of 36 for 33% and Dallas hit 10. They were 10 of 29 for 34.5. Free throw shooting. The Hornets improved. Okay, they’re they’re they’re getting up to my mark. My mark I usually say, “Hey, you got to hit uh 85% of your free throws and the Hornets ended up hitting 81.” The Mavericks finally got to the line. They shot 10. They were seven to 10 for 70%. Both teams rebound the ball at 42 times. The assists were 19 to 15 Hornets. I I like it when the Hornets have uh 20 like 22 23 assists or more shows you’re moving the ball, sharing the ball. And I did see a lot of times where there were some extra passes. I like that. But I saw that for both teams. Uh the Hornets had eight steals, Mavericks had four. Three blocks, Mavericks had seven. and turnovers. The Hornets turned the ball over 12 times. Uh the Mavericks turn it over 18 times. Um yeah, we got to cut the turnovers out. Starting in summer league and continuing on uh continuing on to the rest of the season hopefully. All right. So, with that, that is it, ladies and gentlemen. Thank you all for hanging out with me. The Hornets are 2-0 in Summer League action. McNeely has been the most impressive young Hornets so far. Simpson the point guard who saw a lot of playing time last season has played like the veteran of the group. Kouckbrenner the 7footer has shown good toughness and defensive awareness in his time on the floor. Kon Kuenepple missed the last game and only scored four points in the first game. I still think things are going to work out for him as a Hornet.
