What type of player should the Cleveland Cavaliers use their last roster spot on?
All right, let’s switch gears and talk about the Cavaliers, guys. The Cavs have one open roster spot. Not that they couldn’t potentially make a trade and open up another roster spot, but uh a lot of talk has been about maybe bringing back Tristan Thompson. Some have suggested uh that Kevin Love’s going to get a buyout and that the Cavs could bring him back. Although I know Jason, who obviously is plugged in with the Cavs, thought that was a bad idea for a couple of reasons. But, uh, you know, I mean, none of those players are very exciting. No. Do you think obviously it’s a veteran minimum so it’s just you know how much how good a player can you get at that price but uh what are you looking for for them to do with that that last spot? I got two two spots that they could go. Yeah. And I think the first name I’m going to say maybe it sounds crazy but where the way he’s played he should be lucky to get a vet minimum. Ben Simmons. Ben Simmons is a guy that I know he went to the Clippers last year. I’m not 100%. I think he’s a free agent. And I think it was only he was at the end of his deal when he went there. But I would definitely go for a guy like that because of the 610 size. He is another ball handler. The guy does play really good defense. And if you don’t want to go that route, if you want to go the young route, I’m I’m willing to listen to the Naqucoin Tomlin. I know he played yesterday in the summer league, dropped 30 points. Know he’s got some stuff to to add to his game to be ready for that. But I think that if he continues to play like that, like he played last night, show you that he’s a three-level scorer. The guy is 610, but he plays small four. What’s the one thing that we struggle with? What we haven’t had since LeBron left? A big size wing. And you think he’s going to be the answer? He could be 610, but he plays a small forward. We going to see. How long has he been in the G- League for? I don’t know. But is Listen, we need somebody that can score. We going We going We going to keep running him out there and see what he can do. Is Chris Paul available? Yes. Chris Paul. You think he’ll play on the vet minimum? I mean, he made this is his last year. I mean, he said if you This is farewell to him. Listen, now McNuggets ain’t here. He’s on vacation. And that’s good cuz he can’t shut me down. He’s in Italy. He’s in Italy. You can’t get Don’t shut me down. G G G G G G G G G G G G G G G G G G G G G uh G? No. Uh he’s he’s not going to sign here for a minimum and and it doesn’t work under the same. Guess what? Here’s my thing. I’m going to go with Chris Paul because guess what? When you look at Chris Paul, he already said he’s done. Now you look at all the other Banana boat guys, right? Remember they they almost up out of here. LeBron, Carmelo is done. D Wayade is done. And if the last one is you, you’ve played a long time. You’ve made a bunch of money from a bunch of teams. Bro, we need some guard help. We got Lonzo Ball. He done played 70 some odd games in five years. Come on in. You can use some of that leadership. And guess what? Chris Paul is is short in stature, but he has an attitude. Like he’s always willing to fight. He fight. Matter of fact, it’s to the point where he does it too much with his own team. But if you’re Chris Paul, this your best chance to win right here. Patrick, I hate to burst your bubble g, but he said he wants to play on a team where he’s going to start and he wants to be close to LA with his family. Oh, well that Well, Patrick Beverly, in that case, that case, Chris Paul ain’t no good anyway. We never was interested in Chris Paul. Well, who’s going to start him at this point in his career? Nobody. What are you doing? Only a bad team. He wants to play for a bad team. And listen, I listen, trust me. I get it, man. Families is cool. You can go to slippers. If it’s your last year, you could tell your wife and kids, “Hey, listen, bro. Hey, go ahead. Go to school. Your day doesn’t change. I’m over here in the East Coast.” Is that what LeBron going to do? Try to come back. If he wanted to win, he will. Okay. All right. All right, we’re going to take a break.
The Cleveland Cavaliers have one roster spot left available and that’s it. What type of player would you like to see take that last spot going into next season?

Nae'Qwan Tomlin will end up signing a multiyear contract with the Cavs next March. Tomlin is 6-9 or 6-10 with a 7-2 wingspan. He's very similar to De'Andre Hunter physically. Length on the wing is what the Cavs need. He's athletic and projects to be able to guard multiple positions. Tomlin is a freak that didn't start playing organized basketball until age 19. He played for the Cavs in Summer League last year and was a little underwhelming but earned a contract with the Charge and just got better and better as last season went on earing the two-year two-way contract. The leap that he's taken in the last 365 days is astounding. Tomlin and his likelihood to earn a long-term contract with the Cavs is probably the reason Emoni Bates was sent packing. Tomlin is more NBA ready and has better physical tools than Bates. It won't be long for this guy. Finding a guy like Tomlin who can come in and fill a role on the cheap for a couple years is the blueprint for how a team can survive the second apron.
Brogdon or another guard to replace Jerome
Or Simmons
Bol Bol is out there ..
OPTIONS…NOT OPITONS….guys….😊
It’s bigs bigs bigs
Guards need other options in post
Cam Reddish
They need a big. Nance is a nice player but doesn’t fill the role of backup center. They also need another wing player with length. Hunter can’t be the only one because if he gets injured we’re back to playing guards at the 3
Horford 🤞
