This is how a single man’s ego killed the Chicago Bulls dynasty and robbed Michael Jordan of his seventh title. Back in 1998, the Bulls were untouchable. They had the best player of all time, the greatest sidekick in Scottie Pippen and Phil Jackson pulling all the strings. They just capped off their second three Pete, but the real battle wasn’t on the court. It was in the front office because their GM Jerry Krauss, well, he hated all of it. He hated that no one gave him the spotlight. He hated that Phil Jackson was beloved by his players. And he especially hated that everyone said Michael and Scotty were the ones who made the Bulls, not him. So instead of giving the greatest team ever one more shot at a seventh ring, Krauss told Phil Jackson he was done, even if they win 82 and0. He forced out the coach his superstar trusted, which caused MJ to retire for the second time and the rest was history. But the craziest part is that the Bulls could have absolutely won another title. That 99th season was shortened because of a lockout, perfect for an older team that needed rest. But it was all ruined by a single man’s ego. They would had to have signed 3 big men, signed Jackson, backup for Rodman. But it would have been the most difficult given their age wear and tear but I don't see them stopping Duncan and Robinson. IMO

Jerry absolutely ruined a 7th ring. Jordan was only 35 in 98. I think it's even worse than that though. I think Jerry may have ruined a 3rd 3-peat. Yes ring, 7, 8 & 9. It would of been difficult but Jordan at 36, 37 and 38 could have made a run at it.

The bulls would have lost. The Spurs were too big. Shorten seasons are bad for older teams, more back to backs and the games are closer together
