Los Angeles Lakers TRADING LeBron James To The Cleveland Cavaliers? | NBA Trade Rumors
So, could the Los Angeles Lakers be trading away LeBron James to the Cleveland Cavaliers this 2025 NBA off season? Well, here on the screen is a trade proposal or a trade idea from fadeawayworld.net. The link to this article is down below in case you want to go ahead and check it out for yourself, but this trade would see the Cleveland Cavaliers receiving LeBron James and Bronny James and the Los Angeles Lakers receiving Darius Garland and Max Strus. Now, in my personal opinion, if LeBron James, of course, were to ask for a trade, he hasn’t yet, but there’s been a lot of speculation about the Lakers perhaps moving on from LeBron during this season. If LeBron James were to be on the trade market, and if he had to pick a station for him to go to, I do think going back to Cleveland would make some sense for him. Now, there’s also been some reports that I’ve seen so far that the Cavaliers may not have the most interest in trading for LeBron James. Keep in mind, LeBron is an older player. LeBron is an expensive player and you have to give up quite a bit to get him I would think on the trade market. So perhaps not every team could actually be of interest uh you know for LeBron James. But if LeBron were to go back to Cleveland, perhaps go on one last championship run, maybe win one last championship. This would actually be like a storybook ending to LeBron James’ career. He of course brought a championship back to Cleveland um you know in the late 2010s. But if he were to do that again in the 2020s and perhaps maybe his last year in the NBA, maybe he retires after, this would just be an awesome thing, I think, for LeBron James’ legacy if it were to go down with the Cavaliers, especially with how good this Cavaliers team is, uh, with Donovan Mitchell, with Evan Mobley, etc., he could be the missing piece, truthfully speaking. Now, from the Lakers perspective, I actually like the idea of them getting Darius Garland, um, having a back back court, uh, you know, for the foreseeable future of Luca Donuch as well as Darius Garland. You know, you pair that with players like Austin Reeves. Uh you pair that with players like recently acquired DeAndre Eaton. This team in Los Angeles gets quite a bit younger. And truthfully speaking, the future of this franchise looks a lot better in my personal opinion. So getting players like Darius Garland, a good, you know, solid guard as well as Max Drew who can come off the bench, play some valuable minutes for this Lakers team might not be a terrible idea. So in my personal opinion, the winner of this deal would actually to me be the Los Angeles Lakers. But as always, leave your thoughts.

Not directly…I am pretty sure that this has already been agreed upon with Lebron and the Lakers/Cavs… these three transactions will all be contingent on one another:
1. The Lakers will buy Lebron James’ out for around $26-35 million
2. The Cavs will send Jaylon Tyson (2024 #20 pick overall) and a future pick(s) to the Lakers for Bronny
3. Lebron will sign with the Cavaliers for the veteran minimum.
Reasons why this will work for everyone:
1. Lebron will still make around 30-40 million for this season and he will be able to compete for a championship. (He would have made far less if he opted out)
2. The Lakers we’ll receive what is essentially a first-round pick with upside in Tyson (maybe more future picks too)) for agreeing to buy Lebron out and they will shed Bronny’s contract which is only worth having if his dad is on the team. They will also save around $22-27 million in payroll this year.
3. The Cavs get Lebron without giving up any core players.
4. The NBA gets a great story to follow with Lebron and his son pursuing a championship together in their hometown
