Daniss Jenkins Post Game Media vs. Knicks | 2025 Summer League
history, your mindset coming into tonight and then Vegas in general. Um, just building on last season, what was it important for you to show? Um, no, I just I mean, I’m just trying to enjoy it, you know, be where my feet is at. Um, take advantage of my opportunities and then I just want to show that um, you know, I can run a team. That’s all I’m trying to show. Or whichever way that I’m I’m I’m supposed to do that, that’s all I’m trying to do. And your performance today, you knocked some some shots down obviously this like just how would you sum up your performance today overall? Oh, I mean, yeah, the ball went in the hoop today. I mean, that is the objective of the game. So, I mean, I just just shot it well, but I was really trying to just be aggressive and make the reads. In order to make plays, you got to be aggressive and, you know, they just sometimes it was just my shot, but I was trying to kick it out and get my teammates going, but it was my shot tonight. So, that’s all it was today. before um the start of summer league, Tre Lane said that the one thing he want to see from you guys is to try to stay true to the identity of the Pistons rather as you know getting up and down the court playing defense. How much do you guys think you you guys kind of met that challenge this? Yeah, I think uh to start the game I think we was awesome at it. Um I think as the game went on uh we kind of kind of got a little fatigued that second half and that’s when it kind of got a little sloppy but uh overall I mean I think we did a good job, solid job. We didn’t do good. we could be a lot better. But that’s our mindset though. We really trying to create turnovers. Uh we really just trying to show grit. That’s all we’re trying to do. You in terms of your pace and control for the uh control over the game seem like you’re constantly communicating. How how much do you feel you’ve grown as a leader? Oh, I mean honestly, you know, that’s just that’s been me. So talking is not nothing I’m afraid of. It’s just more so about just being comfortable with being with different guys. This is a group of new guys and I don’t know them. They don’t know me. But just being comfortable um setting everything up and everybody trusting me knowing that I’m going to get us the best shot possible and the best set possible for that play. You have a little in your starting lineup four of the five guys were part of the program last year. Is that familiarity any helpful in this scenario? Yeah, most definitely because uh we always said coming to this summer league like all four of us should definitely be on the same page. We know what to expect. We know who we’re about. We know the sets. uh we know we looking for each set. We know each other’s game. So, as long as we always on the same page, you know, that set the tone for the whole team and and Chaz is great. So, you know, he’s just getting in where he fit in and he he going to get started soon. You’ve seen uh Bobby Clipman’s growth kind of over the past year. Uh what did you see from him today? Especially just when it comes to the way I I’ve been telling Bobby ever since we’ve been um just doing stuff from this off seasonason, ever since our last game in the G and whenever he last played. I just told him I’m proud of the way that he’s carrying himself this year. Um he he looked like a pro this year and to me his game has shown that um you know he’s very serious about what he trying to accomplish this year. Uh how he look how he’s playing in the games. So I I think he look like he like a real a real good player. Yeah. What about Ron Holland then on the defense? We saw it like you know Ron Holland he just Ron is Ron is a dog. I mean he just get it done. Whatever the defense give him, he going to take it. He not afraid of no shot, not afraid of no competition and he he tough to deal with. So I mean you know we we just we got a lot. I know it’s still kind of early but you know even though you guys won in a blowout fashion, is there anything you know you could think of off the top of your head that you guys want to improve on for the next game? I think uh sometimes it was times where on offense we didn’t really get into a set fast enough. Uh I couldn’t talk more. I could set it up more. And I’m not just saying that cuz I’m talking, but that’s truly. And then offensive rebounds and then keeping it downs on the sides, little stuff like that. Um just to execute our game plan, we can really tighten it up all the way cuz when it’s obviously better teams making shots like it’ll be a closer game. or guy, you know. Thank
