Hornets vs Jazz: Liam McNeeley Postgame Media Availability | 7/11/2025
and congrats on the win. Uh kind of you guys kind of withstood a little bit of that rally there from Utah at the end of the third quarter. What do you like most about how you guys perform in the fourth quarter, particularly down the stretch? Uh thank you. Um well, I mean, we stayed together. Uh that’s that’s one of the pillars of Charlotte basketball that I’m learning is togetherness and competitiveness. And I think especially in the fourth quarter, we showed that. Made a lot of plays, hitting shots, rebounds, everything all the way to the whistle. How much fun was it to kind of get back on the court, play for the first time in a while? Yeah, it’s been a while uh since I played my last game. Uh the last game didn’t go how I wanted it to. Um I mean, basketball is my favorite thing to do. So, this was this was a blast. What was it like being out there, man? I mean, obviously you say first game live, you guys come together to talk about how that feel. I mean, it was really cool. Um I mean, the whole team, the whole bench was talking. Uh we had the vets on the sideline talking. Uh so it’s really cool. I really love the culture of Charlotte. Usually people talk to rookies, they talk about physicality and something that they have to adjust to, but you were causing physicality finishing side. What can you say about how you handle that and general physicality of games? I mean, I know the NBA is a step up uh from college, but I played in the Big East. Big East is pretty physical. Uh but you know throwing your body around, not being afraid to dive on the floor, throw your body around, hit somebody. When you talked about the board before you guys took off the comeback, you’re like more of a two feet finisher. You know, you get inside and kind of make your decision there. Just how comfortable are you making either choosing when to score when whether to play or not. Looked like you kind of had an even balance of uh I mean my bigger setting me up real nice. uh Ryan Caulk Brener and PJ Hall. I they were screening people and rolling uh and they they made the decision. He’s a former. You spoke about being excited to play with Brener and just the big game. What was it like to actually get to play? You know, like I said, I’m happy that I get to play with him and not against him anymore. Um I mean that that’s such a good rim protector, such a good big man. Uh he’s a great guy as well. I’m I’m happy to be on the same team. you mentioned it, but when you can show him do a floater out there, get a three-pointer, go to the bucket. I mean, it’s so about your game and what you can do at this level. I I mean, I’ve I’ve thought in my whole career that I’m more than just a shooter. I’m a basketball player. I’m a hooper. I just go out there and try to make the right play. Harvard being by Dallas, how great of a team he is. And no one really knows how much of a how great of a teammate he is unless someone with a thank teammate. Could you describe what Cooper means to you and what what he’s like as a teammate? You know, that’s my brother. Um I’m very thankful for the time I got to spend with him and everybody all my other teammates at my bird. Uh and I’m super happy for him. I’m from Dallas. Got my got my family in Dallas. Uh so they’re they’re super happy he’s going to be playing for the Mavs. Now can you talk about the impact of the second year guys T and KJ kind of dictating the baseball? I mean, KJ started us off. Uh, he was hot from the get-go. TJ brought the most energy out there on the court. Uh, I mean, the guys on the bench, too. Uh, they didn’t get as much playing time, but they were still real vocal. What has KJ shown you so far in the time that you’ve seen him so far in camp? KJ’s nice. Like, that’s a good basketball player. I didn’t I mean, I don’t think we all got to see it last year. Uh, I mean, he knows how to put the ball in the basket. What is something that those guys might have taught you in your short time together so far in the last few weeks? I mean, especially KJ, he’s been he’s been giving me little little tips about just being in the NBA and being in summer league and being new to a team cuz he just did
