So, could the Cleveland Cavaliers be trading away Darius Garland to the Los Angeles Lakers this 2025 NBA offseason? Well, here on the screen is a trade proposal or a trade idea from fadeawayorld.net. So, there’s been a lot of speculation the last couple days about LeBron James’ future in Los Angeles. Could he be bought out? Could he be traded? I guess only time will tell. Now, there has been a report of the Cleveland Cavaliers maybe not even being interested in LeBron James if he was made available for trade, especially to at this point if it’s going to cost them Darius Garland, Max Duce, and a 2031 first round draft pick. I don’t think Cleveland’s going to want to do this no matter what it might, you know, say to the fan base or whatever. But LeBron James returning home to Cleveland would make some sense. But with this trade package heading back to Los Angeles’s way, it’s probably not in their best interest to do so. LeBron James is an expensive older player, um, I think Darius Garwin’s a pretty important part to this team. That 2031 first round draft pick could be very good. I guess only time will tell. Plus, Max Drew is a very solid player. It was very, um, important to this team last year and the success that they had. So, in my personal opinion, like on paper, this looks tremendous. This is a really cool story, but doesn’t make the most sense for the Cavaliers. Like from the Lakers perspective, I love this deal. If you’re able to flip an expensive one-year remaining LeBron James for Darius Garland, who can be a one-two punch with Luca for the foreseeable future, that’s an awesome move. Max Drew, who can be a really good bench player for this group, add some more depth that way. Plus, getting a 2031 first round drafting from a team in Cleveland, which who knows what how they’re going to look, you know, six, seven years down the road. I would take this bet. No doubt about that. So, in my personal opinion, this would be a phenomenal trade for the Lakers to make. But, as I mentioned before, I’m not even sure if the Cavaliers want LeBron James, but at the very least, this would be a cool story having a big three of Donovan Mitchell, LeBron James, and uh Evan Mobley. It could do some damage next year in the wide openen Eastern Conference, but realistically speaking, I would rather sort of side with the Lakers in this trade for the long term of the franchise. So, as I mentioned before, in my personal opinion, this would be a win for the Lakers, but as always, leave your thoughts.
