In 1983, the Philadelphia 76ers dominated the NBA like never before. Led by league MVP Moses Malone, the Sixers rolled through the playoffs with a 12-1 record, culminating in a 4-ame sweep of the defending champion Los Angeles Lakers in the finals. After falling to the Lakers in 1980 and 1982, Philly added Malone to finally tip the scales, and he delivered, averaging 26 points and 18 rebounds per game in the finals. His faux fo foe playoff prediction nearly came true. They only dropped one game the entire postseason. Game after game, the Sixers outworked LA on the boards and outscored them in the clutch, especially in the fourth quarters with help from Julius Irving, Bobby Jones, and Maurice Cheeks.
